Proverbs 6:16-19 GNT
There are seven things that the Lord hates and cannot tolerate: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that kill innocent people, a mind that thinks up wicked plans, feet that hurry off to do evil, a witness who tells one lie after another, and someone who stirs up trouble among friends.
Note: pride is no 1 on God's hate list
One thing I've learned is that if you can remove ALL pride, its impossible for anyone to insult you.
Please stop!!! Every thread it's the same old same old, There is NO LOVE in what you "preach" crashing cymbal
I don't call people names. As for "hypergrace" I can only say this when I pray I alwys pray for others while I ask God's forgiveness where I have "missed the mark" it's not because I have lost my salvation it is because I know His ways are the right ways not mine. The fact that I don't spend all my prayer time pleading for forgiveness for every single sin I may be aware of and the ones I'm not aware of doesn't not mean that I trample on Jesus grace, on the contrary it makes it all the more precious to me. The fact that He loves me inspite of myself humbles me. The fact that He forgives and loves me makes it far easier to yield because He won't throw me out when I make a mistake but will be faithful like He promised and conform me to the image of His Son.
So if you think that is hypergrace, I'm guilty.
"That was my conclusion, but also from the other end of the scale. If man is made with a heart of love, but hurt and disappointment cause them to shut this down, fill their lives with sin and destruction, out of which is only chaos and anarchy, there is nothing there to turn into eternal functioning whole, so all there is left is to burn it up.
To take this dis-functioning person and torture them for something they were slaves to seems both unjust and pointless. "
Your words, Mr Jens, from another thread....and you think I'm off the wall?????????????
I don't think God's justice is either unjust or pointless and Hell does exist for the unsaved not just Satan and his cohorts.

He has a very Nederlandish way of expressing himself
Okay...just a couple of points here. It's ironic to call someone a crashing cymbal (and all that that spiritually implies re: 1 Cor 13) and then claim that you don't call people names. Really, it's more than irony, it's dissembling and allowing yourself latitude where you clearly disallow it in others. Additionally, it's also interesting that you'd bring up comments from other boards considering that part of 1 Cor 13 is LOVE KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS.
Having said that, I'd like to make an observation about Peter. He has a very Nederlandish way of expressing himself. I've noticed that this rubs a lot of Americans the wrong way. They get bogged down in how he is saying something instead of focusing on what he is saying. Or they don't follow his thinking well because they cannot connect with how he is expressing himself, and they end up presuming incorrectly.
He has a very deliberate and impartial tone in many of his posts, so I've seen a lot of people presume that he has no emotions. Therefore, they feel free to speak to/of him in some fairly insulting and cruel ways. As if he's not a human made in the image of God. Peter, btw, handles this pretty darn well.
I just don't get why people give themselves a pass to go off on other people simply because they're irritated or because they disagree with their theology. I don't get why Christians who supposedly have experienced the lavish grace of Jesus are so quick to insult others. You would think that a person who has a true understanding of how desperately they need a Savior would be very quick to forgive the peccadilloes of others.
Isn't that form of pride? My sins are forgiven by Jesus, but I get to grind you down with your sins because I derive pleasure from this?
Beloved, let us love one another. For love is of God and everyone that loves is born of God and knows God. He that loves not, knows not God, for God is love. 1 John 4:7-8
All who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved for all who trust in Him, God is able to save to the uttermost
An undeserved curse is like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow
..it does not come to rest
