Yeah, this is precisely the type of thread I didn't need to read seeing as how I am dealing with my own crisis of faith. Man, I'm sorry I even clicked on this.

Christ was the first fruits of the resurrection and the church is next. In between Christ and now, there has been no resurrection. Also, the word "Anastasis" translated resurrection always has to do with the body standing up again:
386 anástasis (from 303 /aná, "up, again" and 2476 /hístēmi, "to stand") – literally, "stand up" (or "stand again"), referring to physical resurrection (of the body).
Christ's physical resurrection is the foundation of Christianity, which also guarantees the future resurrection of all believers (see Jn 6:39,40,44).

I believe the resurrection is the name of the place we go when we die. Most people call that place heaven, but I think heaven is what our lives turn into when we repent:
As I stated and provided, the resurrection always has to do with the physical body, as there is no such thing as a spiritual resurrection. The spirit/soul departs from the body at the time of death and goes to be in the presence of the Lord, but that is not the resurrection. They will be in the Lord's presence up until the Lord descends and will they will come with him and be reunited with their resurrected bodies. Those who are living will be transformed/changed into their glorified, immortal bodies on the spot and that because they will still be alive at the time the resurrection takes place.
In order to claim that the resurrection is the name of the place we go when we die, just as with all Biblical topics, you must have scripture to support your claim. That said, I have not seen anywhere where heaven is referred to as the resurrection, but heaven is a real name and place. Furthermore, our lives do not turn into heaven while we are here on earth. We are looking for a real resurrection and a real place called heaven, which is the Father's house where Jesus went to prepare places for us. Regarding the "kingdom of heaven is at hand" Jesus was speaking of himself, he being the way to heaven through faith in him. He did not mean that the literal place of heaven was upon the earth.
Well, we go somewhere, physically or spiritually, after we die, and I prefer to give it a name. I call it the "resurrection" because I can think of nothing else to call it. Heaven, I believe, is what our lives turn into when we repent of our sin.
It sounds to me like she suffered from mental illness, especially depression. David suffered great angst expressed in the Psalms. Do you really think Catholics are not Christians, some of their doctrines are very Biblical Christian teaching. I am trying to study the history of Christianity without bias. The Catholic church became corrupted by greed, power and politics. The same thing is happening to fundamentalist churches. I was raised southern baptist, thankfully, God opened my eyes, opened my parents eyes, to the selfishness, petty narrow mindedness, arrogance, ignorance, greed, political idiocy stubborn hard heads and cold hearts of baptists.
It is neither works or faith that saves, it is love. Mother Theresa had a lot of love. She tried to fight the darkness, and it is harder to fight the devil when you have a problem with mental illness, your brain, soul is wired differently than others. You have no idea, when your heart is broken, over and over again, by living in a world full of evil and darkness, you don't know if god or the devil is the enemy, like they play with human souls as if it's a game.

Jesus said the 2 most important things, love the Lord, love your fellow man.
and we have a lady here that dedicated her life to both, and she is attacked for it. and why, because her church has a different sign out front.

How can you jaybird88 be so sure she dedicated her life to Love for God? Seeing that the Catholics do believe they receive Salvation only by their own Works?

i know many of catholics and they dont worship mary as a god so there goes that argument.
but look at what your saying, you are basing your entire theory on opinions/theories and dogmas of others and not the person in question. were you there working alongside this lady, did you witness her doing all these things with your own eyes? because if you didnt, you are falsely accusing her. i would not want to falsely accuse anyone of anything as it is a sin the bible says our Lord thinks is detestable.

If you are secure in Christ, my guess is you may actually agree with some of the negative statements about Catholicism, BUT you will not feel the desire to call names and exhibit hatred
Being right is not Christianity...thinking you are right is usually the argument neither side wins
Knowing what scripture states and arguing from that position, rather than love or understanding, is just a big loud noise. ..people cover their ears

they may be many catholics that worship mary for all i know. i have not met all of them and can only speak of the ones i have met. i am not obsesses over what they do and dont do. i am not gonna point my finger at them just to justify my own faith.
i am a member of a baptist church but almost never call myself baptist, what difference does it make, as it will never change the truth .
none of this has anythig to do with mother teresa btw.
if we were to follow your logic then we could base the faith of every non catholic Christion on jim and tammy, david koresh and jim jones.

Wow! You Protestants are shameless. Do you think you are so much better than Mother Theresa? Like many of the great and humble saints before her, she was very critical of her own failings and sinfulness. She looked at her own faults, but all some of you can do is find fault in her - how arrogant and prideful you are. Just because she wrote about her failures doesn't mean she was an evil woman. It's easy for you to sit behind your computer screens and criticise her, but how many of you regularly go out in the streets to pick up the destitute in our society so as to comfort them in their final hours of life. This is what she did, and she had to do it on her own; without help from the government, hospitals, or family members of those she helped. She was not able to do much other than to give them a place to die in dignity. This tiny saint once picked up a woman, half eaten by rats and ants, and carried her to one of her convents so that she wouldn't need to die alone on the streets. Before you criticize Mother Theresa, perhaps you should humble yourself to read about her life - you might learn something.
