no peter, it is very simple :salvation is a gift.

I got to say the way people throw theology around it can make one quite sarcastic. Ofcourse being saved is a gift, we are lost in sin with Jesus coming to show us the way.

You appear to follow much of what I believe. You respond and you are changed through repentance and obedience. But it is not earning salvation, it is living it. It would be hard to deny the living, or the doing part, but many seem confused about the difference of walking because you are shown the way and walking being you think that justifies who you are.

The real core thing is a real experience with Christ. If you love from the heart, it is an outflow, if it is because you just believe the theology but you are just faking it, then something is wrong. It appears many are faking who they are and what they are doing and literally know no other way of living. But that is not what Jesus came to share. Stop faking and find out who you really are, get real.

Gee, how honored I am by having you single me out even though I haven't posted in a few hours.
My point was God's grace is not synonymous with Jesus. It was on account of His Life, Death and Resurrection that He can bestow grace on those of us who lived under the WRATH of God.

Romans 1:18 KJVS
[18] For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

John 3:36 KJVS
[36] He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Also, there is more to our walk than the finished work of Christ. I commune with Him for example and not a concept of grace.

"Hate" is not an attribute of God. That is HYPER-HYPER-Calvinism. Grundem is the only "systematic" theologian who even lists wrath as an attribute of God, and he is just plain wrong as he is on many things.

And in Paul's mind, Jesus and Grace are absolutely synonymous. Paul uses Grace to describe a new and living way of the new covenant, of the newness of life all embodied in the Person and work of Jesus Christ. For Paul, there is no Christ without Grace, and there is no Grace without Christ.

The difference between those who believe all sin is dealt with at the cross for believers and un-believers, so no judgement for sin on judgement day for anyone, is different from saying sin is only forgiven if you believe on Christ.

Now it appears you cannot see the difference between these two ideas. At this point it becomes pointless to continue, because correcting me about something you do not understand does not work.

One day, Jesus visited him. The Bible makes no mention of Jesus rebuking him for his dishonest lifestyle the whole time they were together. Instead, Jesus showed him grace and honor by spending time with him. Before long, Zacchaeus stood up and declared to Jesus that he would restore fourfold to anyone he had taken from illegally, and would even give half of his goods to the poor.

A moment with Jesus completely changed Zacchaeus’ heart. A moment with grace in person—without accusations, condemnation or judgment—caused such an inward transformation that in a short time, Zacchaeus was doing outwardly what was right and in a measure no man would have expected of him!

Many people want to live right. Their concern with right living makes them focus on themselves and the things they struggle with. But it is right believing that produces right living. If you are trying to break free from an addiction that has bound you for many years, believe that Jesus loves you so much that at the cross, He paid the price for you to be completely free from any addiction. Believe that by His stripes you are healed and delivered.

One member in our church had a smoking addiction. But each time he lit up a cigarette, he would believe that God was not judging or condemning him, and that he was still the righteousness of God in Christ. One day, he woke up impressed by the Spirit that that day would mark the start of a smoke-free life. Expecting to be assaulted by the usual cravings to smoke, he prayed this throughout the day: “Thank You, Jesus, for by Your stripes I am healed.” Before he knew it, the day passed without him lighting up or suffering any withdrawal pangs! And since then, he has been totally free of this addiction.

Today, if you want to experience right living, find out what Christ has done for you and what you have in Him—and believe it!

As long as the gospel you're talking about is that you are such a wretched sinner, and are bound for Gods wrath, and that there is only ONE way to be saved from His fury against your iniquity. As long as the fact you understand that God set foot in His creation and lived the life we couldn't, who was the spotless lamb whom we rejected, who we took and hung on a cross for no reason other than He was the Word of truth. Not only was He willing to come take our punishment, but He was willing to pour it out on His son that if we accept His sacrifice and submit our lives to the only worthy, we could be saved. That through His sacrifice we can be made new, a new person with new desires, and a life that now belongs to Him and lived to bring His name glory, then I agree.

That is the gospel of Jesus Christ, the good news that through His grace He has provided a way to escape His coming righteous wrath. That is THE gospel, that is THE good news, anything else is just fluff and won't save a thing. Honestly I haven't really seen anyone attacking this. Can you show me where THE gospel is being attacked on CC at all? If so then I'll join you in combating the falsehoods.

Well, you just described Grace. Thats why its called the Gospel of God's Grace (Acts 20:24).

It is a concept of grace, it is directly related to grace. The only reason you can fellowship with God is because of God's grace, in that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty of your sins (I.e, by grace, undeserved/unmerited) and deal with sin once and for all so that you may be reconciled to God. Your way to the Father is through Jesus Christ and that was done by God's grace through faith.

PS: You weren't singled out, I replied to others as well. The last paragraph isn't just towards you, but others as well. You know for a fact that no one is putting forth a message of grace at the exclusion of Jesus. It is nigh impossible.

It's like trying to separate the "wet" out of water.

.you are just playing with semantics...you cannot have Jesus without grace....nor can you have grace without Jesus...God IS love....Is Mr. Love interceding for you?....Did Mr. Love die for your sins? ...did you not come to Jesus who is love or is the love of God an idol now too.

When we sing "Amazing Grace" are we bowing down to our idol?

God's grace did send His Son in the flesh to die on the cross for our sins, and rose Him on the third day !!!

No person did anything to deserve God doing this for us, that is what Ephesians 2:8-9 is talking about.

It also tells us exactly how we are put under God's grace in this passage and it says "through faith" !!!

Without accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior and what He did on the cross we would not be under God's grace, but would still be walking in unbelief and held under the Law of sin and condemnation !!!

Unbelievers are not forgiven of their sins...................No scripture says that !!!

Ever wonder why two people can hear the same thing and yet have very different responses? For one, what is said makes him afraid and discouraged. For the other, his heart is so filled with faith that he dares to come against the devil and what he is doing.


In the Valley of Elah, Goliath the Philistine giant taunted the armies of Israel for 40 days. When David came on the scene, he heard the same mockings of Goliath that the rest of the Israelites heard. But somehow, those same words which caused fear in the soldiers angered David. What did David know or see that the others failed to see?


David knew that he had a covenant with God. Now, King Saul and all the soldiers with him that day also had the same covenant with God, but only David believed the covenant. And he acted on his belief. So God caused his giant to come tumbling down.


If David had such a great victory even though he was under the old covenant, how much more you and I who are under the new covenant! Today, God is asking, “Where are my Davids who will believe the new covenant?”

What is the new covenant? It is the covenant of grace. And grace means unmerited, undeserved, unearned favor. God wants us to know that He has cut this covenant with us through Christ our representative. And according to the covenant, we have His undeserved favor. We are blessed because Jesus took our beating. Because of what Jesus has done on the cross, we have victory over every giant.

Simply put, Jesus is more than grace. You are robbing yourself with the theological reductionism that you are imbibing from others.
