to the OP...I think everyones tastes and styles are different.. It would depend from what period of time (we all have our favourite).

Well if my guy started attacking a bus with a sword yelling, "Egad! What foul metal beast darkens my ladies path?!" I might just let him go to town... from a distance.

Interesting topic.

I am quite old-school myself. Being people who practice abstinence until marriage, doesn't that make us all ones who are "awkwardly stuck in another time"? :)

What I mean by this is:

Would you date someone that dresses in .... clothing from another time... like re-enactment middle ages, Renaissance... or other time period.

I'm talking about someone that goes about everyday never stepping out of character... speech, behavior, and mannerisms are of that time era.

Would it be charming or annoying or embarrassing?

Going to court over a parking ticket, going to dinner, shopping at the grocery store (walmart doesn't count), going to family functions, going to work ...

Obviously, the person WILL stand out amongst today's backdrop. How would you feel about that... if everything else were in order-- kindness, Christianity, etc...

Would you try to change the person or would you endure it and possibly also start dressing out of this time.
I hope you're not suggesting my Nehru jacket and bell bottoms have gone out of style.

Quick question. Do Americans wear Nehru jackets? I thought that was an Indian thing. It is our traditional attire.

Fun fact - our first Prime Minister was Nehru. :p

Nehru jackets are not at all common here. They are, however, very cool looking.

Back when I was a young fellow (late 60s, early 70s?) the Nehru jacket was in style for young men. You were considered very "cool" if you wore one.

Some of the best fashions come from the year 2364. I'd be okay with that. ;)

I thought about this more the other day... Yeah, sure! Again, hopefully it's not a psychological issue or false pretense, but if a girl genuinely just loved the 90s (or whatever time) more than any other area...I could live with that.

*thinks of the song 1985 by Bowling for Soup* or this:

...so many examples...

...I can't even...

Maybe I'm stuck in the 90s... and past... I love rock, punk, hardcore, all those fashions that were born late 80s to early 2000s... SO much legit music... Things like Warped Tour started... Skating and Video Games and Anime and all sorts of fun things became really popular... They were good times to grow up in. ^_^

*is listening to this in the background*
