@Dude You cant just arrest people because they dont use manners. Everyone would be in prison then. The only antidote is good parenting. Cut and dried. Everything begins in the house, good or bad. You start disrespecting your parents, eventually, you will disrespect other people.

Just ask any teacher here in California, and you will hear the kids are 100% different than they were even 20 years ago. Some teachers will not teach middle school anymore. The 6th to 9th graders are the worst they say.

And most of them spend more of their time trying to discipline the kids instead of teaching.

Visit enough homes and you will also see a lack of discipline. Are parents afraid of their children? Afraid of not being their "friend" anymore if they come down hard? Or feeling guilty because of divorce, etc. and not wanting to rock the boat in any way? Or going through so much themselves they have no energy left?

It is sad to see the breakdown in the homes where discipline should begin.
I personally think its mainly due to a combination of two things:

1) Believe it or not, there are parents these days that actually want their kids to be sot of "street smart" and actually encourage or at least tolerate bad language, talking back, etc.. because they don't want their kid/s to feel intimidated or become the victim of other kids.

2) The internet. Kids say whatever they want and get away with it and as we all know, the internet is a viscious cesspool of rudeness, foul mouths and outright bullying. This is what kids are dealing with today and I think that sort of behavior begins to seem normal to them whether online or not.

This is why we ole geezers have to hope kids like you will rise up to lead this world. Most of what you (and a couple other younger people here) say SHOULD make some of us "adults" red with embarrassment at our own thinking and words.

Just want to add that this deterioration of society is actually foretold in the bible...

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
(2 Timothy 3:1-5 NIV)

It's a bit disturbing to me how a lot of that description fits the way people are today..

My parents (Mom and Dad only, since later on Dad married and had more kids) had four kids. We were all taught respect, good manners, how to behave to the point that we could go to mass on Sunday at age 18 months and behave without requiring even coloring books or toys. We were trained well. One of my brothers was a bully anyway. He still is. Don't blame parents. Ultimately, we're responsible for our own actions.

Have you ever read the OT? It wasn't foretold. It already was. It is always.

Two high school students were walking down the sidewalk and they walked passed a blind man and didn't move aside for him. The blind man literally moved out of their way. Then 30 seconds later they walked passed an elderly couple and the woman had to move out of their way.

I walked up to them and asked them if they were crazy and informed them of what they just did. They apologized and said they were looking down at the ground and didn't realize what they did. I saw what happened and they were not looking down at the ground. I told them they were better than that then walked away. I never raised my voice but I put a little fear in them and now I feel bad.
One of the most godly things we can do is defend the weak in this world from the cruel, especially as men that God has given the strength to stand against those who would use strength against the weak.
