Yeah right, very offensive. The guy in the video was violent with the woman. Nary a peep about that from the sanctimonious humor nazis though.
What violence??...a kiss on the cheek?

Rather amusing to see the lengths some folks go to make men and women equal. God didn't make them that way. Women cannot do what men can, and men can't do what women can.
A woman is not of less value than a man, but that doesn't mean they are equals. Far from it.

You guys are ridiculous. That video is every bit as 'offensive' as the picture I posted, yet you have nothing to say about it. Bug off!

Actually Im not in a place where I can listen to the video so I cant have an opinion. The picture is still offensive but I cannot compare the two. The bug off was uncalled for, and not very Christlike dont you think?

My favorite book was always: Me? Obey him?
Me? Obey Him? - Truediscipleship
When I knew my bossy ex for 3 weeks I split up with him because he was so bossy, but then I drove to the book store and found this old book. I thought it was so amazing that we put it on the book table of the church. Here in Holland mostly the women are the boss and we had some controlling women in church whose husbands had nothing to say and they'd come for marriage advice to us LOL. Oh my this one woman: yes and he must raise the kids so and so and I told him so many times, but he doesn't change and I give him one more chance. Here, I have a great book for you. You have to change.
Hahahahahahaha they always got furious at me.

This subject again?
Maybe I am over simplifying, but this is a easy answer.
Love one another.
If we love one another, then there will be no control.
Submission will be mutual.
Our spouses concern will come before ours.

Now, a thing happened a while ago with some people in a garden that hinders us a little bit with those actions...
but, someone from the same lineage of those people in the garden came later on, and He made a great sacrifice for us to make it easier.

Oh gory!Paul the lawgiver.
We just can't stop it, can we?
Demanding submission because of the law of Paul.
Poor man probably tossing in his grave.
Love doesn't demand submission. Love earns it.

The inspired Word of God you mean.
True but what if there is unlovingness or simply control?

I think that's a big problem with most of the Western world. Marriage is meant to be a true partnership, not husbands lording over wives, or wives bossing around their husbands. That doesn't make for a healthy family. We see the evidence all around us.

I think I have posted this stuff about how women are not under the control of men about 20 times on here. The only authority over us is Jesus Christ. In English or the Greek!
thanks Angela, keep on posting-- And check out Kathryn's website...

Awesome. I can't remember where it is, but Paul said he had the right to marry just like Peter. He taught about marriage a lot and probably would have liked to have been married, but, his travels and life were dangerous. But, I've heard that the Pharisee order he was in required him to be married, so he may have been at one point.

Mt 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

What is in the heart? Men ought to lead by Gods grace and a Godly woman will recognize it and follow with all her heart. A trust so precious that to betray it is a terrible transgression. A reflection of our relationship with Christ. Follow out of fear or out of love?

For the cause of Christ

Let me try to explain the difference between the picture and the video. Btw, lots of people would find BOTH offensive.

The video uses IRONY and OVERSTATEMENT (hyperbole) to create humor. So, the woman offers her opinion, which is clearly reasoned and educated. We'd expect the dinner table to respond positively and go on with the discussion, instead, everyone is offended. The "offense" is that this opinion was rendered by a woman. How inappropriate for a woman to "disrupt" in such a manner. (Clearly, it wasn't disruptive, but pertinent...so the interpretation of it as disruptive is over-reactive and creates IRONY). This is continued with the clearly hyperbolic and unscientific "visual" presented. In other words, the video creates a lot of context to understand that this is meant IRONICALLY and in JEST.

Not so with the picture. While I'm sure people who knew this family got the joke, there just isn't enough information present to provide context. Instead, we just get images of women bound and gagged and the implication of various stereotypes--that women talk too much, that women are disruptive forces that must be contained, etc. It seems especially "ouchy" because little girls are bound and gagged in the picture. There's no larger context to create a deeper understanding, so we're left with this pretty yikes image. While this family was likely attempting the same sort of joke as the video, it ends up being a misfire and coming across as completely sexist.

Ultimately, someone is likely to be offended by both if they don't understand irony. It's like all those people who get up in arms over an internet article only to realize it was from The Onion.
