I slept really good, thanks, even woke up without the alarm.
Then I had to bring the kids to school on my bike and there was a hail storm. I had to think of that text from Joel.
Isn't it funny how people can even turn resting in God into a work?
This is a good preaching about it:

I didn't really get that out of the command. Even Jesus got baptized. It's no work either, because 2 other people do the work.

Jesus showed that you may do the work of the Father on the Sabbath.

There has been a movement to change the Ten Commandments of our heavenly Father to read,

"The Ten Suggestions."

I pray you are not counted among these of this latter day movement of teachers misguided by their own whims.

Enter His rest.

The purpose of the law was :

1) To reveal our sinful state. Rom 3:20

2) To inflame sin Rom 7:8

3) To minister death in us Rom 7:10-11

4) To lead us to Christ Gal 3:24 ( He has fulfilled the law for us..now we walk in His love which is in us and thus fulfill the law )

The law is good! But the purpose of the law was not for righteousness or salvation at all, it was to manifest sin in our lives, so that the purpose of grace which is in Jesus is to manifest salvation. Grace does not set aside the law, but completely satisfied it.

Col 2:13-15 is where in says that Christ "disarmed" satan having cancelled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees ( the Law ) against us and He nailed it to the cross. Satan uses the law against us. Satan comes and says to you - you broke the law - you are condemned now according to the law.

BUT our Lord took that punishment for breaking that law for us. When Christ takes away the condemnation of the law which satan uses against when he accuses us - he is being "disarmed". If disarmed means anything - it means he did have a weapon but now he doesn't because of our Lord. How great is our salvation in Him!

All true. More truth, we are changed from children of disobedience to children of obedience. Grace does mean we are regarded as innocent by the Father, but it is never license. If we, then, are children of obedience, let us be imitators of our Mater and King, and in so doing we will be obedient according to the Word, Jesus. He is perfect for us, but, again, no excuse not to be imitators of the One Whom we profess to believe. Learn how from Him...............that is all.

Understood before you responded. My post is just some background for certain who are afraid to live in grace in the sight of the Father, attempting to find some other way to salvation than accepting the free gift of Jesus Christ on the cross in our place.

No of course not. That video I posted is just what I mean to say.

No but now it's almost considered a sin by some to do anything and even baptism is considered a work. Not doing anything is not resting either. You're only busy to not buy food, not do this, not do that. I went to a very strict hotel in Israel once. They let the Arabs serve the food on saturday and you had those lines I heard for how much you could walk on a day. That's not really the Spirit of the law I think. Sabbath is for the people, not the other way around. I'm more into the soaky soaky spend time with God and then get fired up to pray, but don't be so busy praying that you forget to listen to Him.
One extreme is do this, do that so you earn His Love and the other extreme is relax and don't even pray and fall asleep spiritually.

Baptism is one of the covenant signs of the New Covenant..that and the Lord's Supper.

Physical circumcision and keeping the Sabbath were the covenant signs of the Old Covenant, which I am not under.
