I hope this is the right place to put this, but I was wondering if a Christian dating a Muslim is okay? I'm dating a Muslim and I love him so much. Also, are Christians allowed to eat Halal?

Christians should not date anyone not Christian. And personally, given the cultural attitude towards women from Muslims, i'd be leery of dating one regardless of your faith. It is not uncommon for Muslim men to date American women, and treat them well, and once they marry they become abusive and controlling. In some cases they get them to go back to the country of their birth and essentially hold them hostage because the laws of the country would permit them to be beaten or murdered for trying to leave. I've heard of these kinds of stories more than once. It is quite risky. If you don't believe me, do the research and find out how common such stories are.

Don't know specifically what Halal is, but i think this scripture could apply.

[h=1] 1 Corinthians 8[/h] [h=3]Concerning Food Sacrificed to Idols[/h]8 Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that “We all possess knowledge.” But knowledge puffs up while love builds up. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know. [SUP]3 [/SUP]But whoever loves God is known by God.[SUP][a][/SUP]
[SUP]4 [/SUP]So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that “An idol is nothing at all in the world” and that “There is no God but one.” [SUP]5 [/SUP]For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), [SUP]6 [/SUP]yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But not everyone possesses this knowledge. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat sacrificial food they think of it as having been sacrificed to a god, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled. [SUP]8 [/SUP]But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, won’t that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols? [SUP]11 [/SUP]So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge. [SUP]12 [/SUP]When you sin against them in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. [SUP]13 [/SUP]Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.

2nd Corinthians 6:14 nasb Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?

It's kinda self explanatory, a Christian should NEVER date a non-Christian.

Also, are Christians allowed to eat Halal?
There is nothing in scripture that would prohibit a Christian from choosing to take on dietary restrictions, but I would ask why would you want to place yourself under the burden of the legalism of a false religion when you have freedom in Christ?

Halal (as it pertains to food) is very similar to, but more strict than Jewish Kosher dietary restrictions. Basically 'Halal" means permissible in Arabic.

PS: Although some Muslims (and some misinformed Christians) will claim that we worship the same God, we do not.

Islam claims the same genetic roots as Judaism and Christianity through Abraham (the Arabic people are descendants of Ishmael) but that's as far as it goes. Although Islam venerates Christ as a "prophet", it rejects Him as the Savior prophecied of in the OT.

In the muslim Quran, it says they are allowed to date muslims, jews and christians because they follow the book. so i'm not quite sure how it's not the same god?

Its not the same sist..
they didnt believe in Jesus as God.. they know Jesus but not as God.. (as prophet i think??)
as for halal its just food without pork and something else that they think they shouldn't eat.. many halal food here.. lol..

It doesn't matter if he is muslim or other religion sist.. the fact is he isnt Christian is enough for you to back off your feeling now..
I know its hard to let go but you should..
its like God asking you to choose between Him or him.. the choice in your hand sist..

It will break your heart to leave him but its worth it and save you from many heartache you may face in the future..
everything happens for a reason.. God didnt make the rule about unequally yolk without reason.. because He loves you so much thats why He said not to be unequally yolk..

think carefully about this.. i'll praying for you.. God bless you :)

No, but it will most likely make your married life like hell.

Halal as I explained in a prior post is just what food the Quran allows Muslims to eat, in no way does that make it improper for a Christian.

In the muslim Quran, it says they are allowed to date muslims, jews and christians because they follow the book. so i'm not quite sure how it's not the same god?
If you really study Islam you will find that albeit Christians and Jews are "the people of the book" all it means is that in a Muslim dominant country we get to live as long as we pay the proper religious tax whereas the rest of the pagans have only the option of convert or die.

You will find that a Muslim man can marry a non-muslim but that his offspring MUST be raised as Muslim, a Muslim woman CANNOT marry a non-Muslim man. In countries where strict Sharia (Muslim law) is followed a Muslim father would execute his daughter before allowing her to marry a non-Muslim.

As for it not being the same God:

In Islam Christ is just a prophet, not the Son of God. He was just another prophet in the long line of prophets of which Muhammed was the last. If you remove the deity of Christ you no longer have the same God.

In Islam God is an angry, vengeful deity that on Judgement Day weighs your good deeds against your bad. If you happened to have one less good deed than bad you are condemned. The only guarantee of salvation is to die in Jihad which is why so many Muslims are willing to join in the craziness in the Middle East. Within Christianity, God sent his Son to pay the price for our sins so that as long as we accept Him as Lord we have a guarantee of eternity in Him because of Him, not because of what we did. Once again a different God.

The list of differences is just too long to go on typing. If you are really looking for good advice and not just the answer you want (I'm not assuming either) read the book Islam and Christianity: A Revealing Contrast (the Kindle version is $9)

She's shortening "sister"

This is the same rationalization that every person uses when they want to do what THEY want instead of what GOD has instructed.

As Oncefallen pointed out, the bible says not to be yoked to an unbeliever. Muslims don't believe in God, they believe in and worship Mohammed. So NO, God would NOT be happy that you're with a Muslim. Islam is an evil false religion. God wants you with an equally-yoked CHRISTIAN, not a Muslim.

Muslims worship Allah, not Mohammed. But they might as well worship Mohammed considering how much they crap on about their holy prophet. Still, that doesn't stop Islam from being an evil, evil, evil religion.

But doesnt god have different paths for everyone? it says that being gay isnt okay in the bible, doesnt it? yet god loves everyone.
should it not be the same as marrying out of your religion? god does not judge, so why would he be upset?

no problem, i assumed it was sister, but most people say 'sis' so i was a little confused haha.

i am happy to know about the halal though -- ive always been so confused on that subject, on whether or not it's okay to eat.

Do you believe Jesus when he said in John 14:6 "I am the way the truth and the light, no one can come to the father except through me. "

God will judge and throw everyone who has not accepted Jesus as Son of God and committed their lives to Him into Hell and lake of fire.

You have also been given plenty of verses and advice from the Bible as to what it means to marry a non-believer.

Of course at end of day you have free will to do what you like, but once you are married it will be hell, you will become second class and it would not surprise me if you are banned from anything to do with Christianity, your husband to be would not want to live with death threats for too long.
