Yeah, because everyone should feel guilty for not allowing people in an organized religious establishment to grab and hold them at will. :p Anyone who isn't receptive to unfamiliar people hugging them has got to have something spiritually wrong with them, right?

Wow... should we add that church rule ("Thou shalt hug everyone at any time") to all the other ridiculous laws that religious folk burden everyone else with? *sigh*

Yeah.. there is nothing wrong with people who value their personal space. Some just don't appreciate people they don't know doing that. I certainly would never go up to someone I didn't know and try to hug them lol.. no matter where I'm at. A simple handshake and a hello will suffice. :)

If it ain't that serious, why do you feel the need to keep justifying imposing your personal preferences on others?

That's in your own understanding. You're entitled to it. :)

There's a reason Jesus stands at the door and knocks. He doesn't demand people let Him in. He stands with His arms open for us to enter into His embrace. But He doesn't chase us down and force Himself upon us. Jesus makes Himself approachable. He draws people to Him by being kind and reasonable and meek. He's not hostile or tactless or a creeper.

Lol I learned it in church. It was weird. I didn't know that it was normal for men and women to hug. Here you do that only in a relationship. Don't even hug my brother or dad. Kisses on the cheek are considered normal though.

Really? That's interesting. I am and have always been opposed to kissing people on the cheek (except my dad and mum, back in the day). I just hug people, if they're okay with me hugging them.

Lol not hugging doesn't mean not loving. It's like I tell you if you don't kiss people on the cheek 3 times you don't love them.
Older grandpa's and women is no problem but if a guy my age wants to hug me in Holland whoooooo that's weird. It is very healing though. You don't learn it from your parents. One preacher here with an encounter where people got healed up by hugging too (only women with women) said he only hugged his daughters as kids because otherwise he would feel like a creep. Culture thing, really sad. God healed him from that so now he hugs them. Jack Winter hugged me in church when all those Dutch never hug you people got imparted the Father's Love. It was awesome but I was very happy he hugged me and not James Jordan, lol way too good looking and my age.

Hi ,

lets look at this from another point of view , if your church does not accept others who are different from you , and they know you quite well and make a point of ...wont ,... accept you , you can rest assured you will never ever get a or any hugs from those people .

Okay I,ll take it that most here and those with in the church,s your all taking about are in the main normal as in , if your a male your a male or a female your a female , okay, does that come as about right , if so , then this lets myself off the hook ,

Why because I'm not normal okay , and because of that I wont be given a hug wether I like it or not ,

I know for a fact and have experanced it from a church group and was told I would never be accepted because if you,v read my profile of being intersexed even though I'm an intersexed female this is what happens ,I know of other church groups that are the same ,

So even though we are ...born... different we are treated different from others my REAL friends are out side the church,s and they understand, why should we be treated different because I don't have my womb or don't have any organs male or female , they don't care they accept and they give myself a hug that really means so much more ,its real and its something many in the churchs here in New Zealand don't have a clue about they talk a lot yet are not real in their lives ,

so you know I have 58 years of being involved with ...churchs ...and I have very few who I call as friends , in fact some I know attend a meeting house church building and I,v known them for 20 years and one friend we hug out on the street , its real and means as I said so so much , they don't Judge , they accept ,

I think you need to look at the intenstions of people and are they real or just acting on a Sunday at a meeting to look good ,

Any way to not get a hug be different , now that works ........life experance ,

No need to post the same thing twice. Also, yes, we're called to judge brothers and sisters in Christ. But we're not called to judge those outside the body. After all, if you're not in step with Christ and His ways, who are you in step with?

Yea I hate that go to a new church and they say touch 3 people and say this or hug them....man i hardly know these people, hugs are only for people I know otherwise I question that person's integrity....

Hugs are a big deal....you don't hug someone you don't know...it's too personal...a shake hand is as far as it goes...I am annoyed with people who go uber-hugging everyone with such fake joyfulness (not all are like that but you know the artifical ones who are super joyful in church but outside of it are meaner than a gangster...)
