It is a sin. Those that do these things have no part in the Kingdom of God. Let them alone to pursue what so ever they will but don't try to justify there sins and then tell them it is ok. We should desire that they would turn from this and to the Lord but it cannot be both ways. You either are his child OR you are not. Our God is a Jealous God and he won't share his glory with those who do these thing.

It is an unnatural desire. It's an abomination. And it perverts God's idea of man and woman, not man and man, or woman and woman. It is disgusting, not only to God, but to others who have to see it on a daily basis. God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, or Eve and Ethel.. :/

I'm waiting to see a thread titled Some Thoughts About Self-Righteousness....

Or.... Some Thoughts About Lying

Or.... Some Thoughts About Secret Lusts

..........might step on a LOT of toes, though...

Not entirely true. Any who love the homosexual life is NOT of God.
Oh, you disagree with Scripture?

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

1 John 4:7

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8

No I do not disagree with scripture, but obviously homos love their lifestyle more than they love God or others. So these scriptures do not apply, because homos don't love God, or they would be homos.. :/

Just like christians who sin. If they would love God they would stop sinning.

... or they would be homos? Do you mean NOT be homos? Hmmm. I am still a human being suffering the human condition but that does not mean I love God any less. You are reminding me of a couple of women who were both banned a couple of months ago... they were both saying things like identifying as a homosexual is a sin, and how it is wrong to identify as a sinner. If a person sins, they are a sinner, and a homosexual person can identify as being homosexual without acting out sexually. Do you agree? I am just curious, because it seems to me that if you tell homosexuals that it is a sin to simply be homosexual without even acting out on it sexually then you have essentially stymied them... and then what would be the point of their coming to God, since they are being told they are a sinner regardless? Do you understand what I am saying? There is a distinction to be made and it seems to me that many here are incapable or unwilling to make it.

So homosexuality is the topic du jour! Three threads, but more could be started.

And yet, I don't see any Bible verses in the OP. I know there were lots in the poll thread about gay marriage, but at least we could stop with opinion, and start with the Word of God.

I keep saying, the problem with this forum is that no one uses the bible. Well, not totally true. There are those who are very faithful in using the Word to support what they are saying. But not the majority.

Does any thread starting with "Personal Thoughts" below in the BDF? That is the question!

Not trying to rain on the OP's parade, and I am against homosexuality, but I still think we need to start with the Bible, use the Bible in the middle and finish with the Bible.

Please feel free to correct me if you feel my instance that we use the BIBLE in the BIBLE Discussion Forum is wrong.

Edit: I mean wouldn't, not would..lol

1Co 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals,
1Co 6:10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Eph 5:3 For let fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness not be once named among you, as becomes saints

Since when does God ask us what we think? Do we know more than the Eternal God who created everything that exists?

As eternally as God loves God hates sin. Sodomy is abhorred by God. God does not respect the opinions of Christians or Sodomites. God is God and His knowledge is above all. Gods thoughts are too wonderful for me.

Ps 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

Yes I meant would NOT.. :) Homosexuality is a sin. And what's the point of identifying as gay, if you're NOT going to have homo sex? So yes, I do disagree with that. It's pointless to turn gay if you ain't gonna follow the lifestyle.

Turn gay? You say that as if it would happen after they were saved.
Are we not discussing people who are gay before they turn to God? It seems you did not
understand anything I said :p What is the point of your being heterosexual if you ain't
getting any. Blue? HUH??? That amounts to the = of what you just said. :p

And much of the time, homosexuals try to justify their lifestyle by saying it's still the same love, their just loving the same sex. So that love is unnatural and wrong, according to God. Women are supposed to be in love with, and have sex, with MEN. Just as men are supposed to be in love with, and have sex, with WOMEN. Anything else is just wrong.

It just means that a man is not attracted to women although he's set free from lust. A christian guy I know from another forum calls himself gay (not homosexual), because he's not attracted to women. Thus he stays single.

No offence my brother, but you are cross mixing arguments. We are speaking about any sexually immoral behavior being sinful. Something that God does not approve of, and something which leads to eternal separation from Jesus. This is serious.
Just because we have sinned, and even will sin again, does not imply that we are unfit to proclaim that all sexual abomination is sin. I will speak for myself, but I personally do not have a problem stating that homosexuality is a sin, even if I was once a sinner, and still am (no, I was not gay, not once, not ever). In fact my experience gives me a insight in which encourages me to speak out in urgency to repent.
Lets not mix apples and oranges by trying to guilt others into silence by reminding them of their sins. Are we not cleansed? Does not not commission us to go out and spread the word? Paul, who helped laid the foundation of new testament doctrine was a murderer of Christians. That did not prevent him from boldly speaking up for Jesus, and against a sinful lifestyle.
Are you suggesting we have a tread in which we publicly recount our sins so we can move onto this one with a clear mind??

I'm tempted to consider that a fairy tale but it might be seen as a play on words.

Gay and homosexual are the same thing. Nature abhors a vacuum if you are not attracted one way you will be attracted the other way.

I can understand him liking the single life and that's cool but calling himself gay is a big red flag.

Angela, if God is against sexual immorality, in any form, how can He ever condone that behavior in the bond of a marriage? So, yes, it is in the bible that God does not want two men to marry so they may continue their transgressions and proclaim publicly that they are sinners, and rebellious against God. They essentially are saying that we do not care what God says? You don't think God is going to have a problem with that? Carry the thoughts on this subject in the bible to its logical and inevitable conclusion.
