This is all a matter of identity! If I was a thief before I came to Christ..am I still a thief?..in the eyes of the world I am ( and in the eyes of self-righteous people that never stolen anything ...I could still be thought of that way )

In Christ there is no such thing of being gay, being a thief, a gossiper..whatever. We are new creations in Christ!

It's a matter of indentity!

Let's tell Christians who they really are now in Christ..and to stop identifying ourselves with the old habits of our former life or for those things that we still struggle with.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (NASB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
[SUP]10 [/SUP] nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

Angela, if God is against sexual immorality, in any form, how can He ever condone that behavior in the bond of a marriage? So, yes, it is in the bible that God does not want two men to marry so they may continue their transgressions and proclaim publicly that they are sinners, and rebellious against God. They essentially are saying that we do not care what God says? You don't think God is going to have a problem with that? Carry the thoughts on this subject in the bible to its logical and inevitable conclusion.

Do you read? At all?

Read the second last paragraph I wrote in my last post on this thread. I said,

"I am against homosexualty, but we still need to start with the Bible.."

In other words, although I know homosexuality is wrong, we should not be sharing our OPINIONS on it, as the OP has done, but rather sharing why the BIBLE says it is wrong.

These are personal thoughts. I believe that any same sex attraction is not a result of the fall of man but is the result of the fall of the angel Lucifer, God's creation and those who fell with him. Iniquity is the sin of Lucifer (Satan) who wanted to exalt himself above the throne of God to the sides of the North. This is when Satan had corrupted his own wisdom and was cast down with a third of the angelic host with him. This was a multitude of angels and not just a hand full. This happened before God created the man and the woman. I believe that through this angelic fall that the angels (they seem to be all male) who had been corrupted became lustful in their heart.

In similar fashion they began to lust after the flesh not only of man and beast but after their own bodies (keeping not their first estate but left their own habitation). This is where vile affections (degrading passions) come from. This refers to when the angels first dishonored their own bodies through fornication and going after strange flesh (Jude 6-8). The angels that fell demonstrated among themselves through anarchy and lasciviousness their ungodliness deeds, who despised dominion, spoke evil of dignitaries as filthy dreamers who defiled the flesh. This became the means for man to be corrupted in his own flesh through inordinate affections as has been illustrated by the example of Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them.

Yes it's just those unclean demons causing it. Some say they are like that since birth. I believe that can be true since I saw one guy got set free from such a demon and it entered him with birth. If the parents open the door through fornication or someting it can come in.
One guy said he got it when he started to watch porn. All of a sudden he was attracted to men. Was just a demon that came in or it happens with abuse.

Some people do not like the Biblical association of demons with ailments. In fact I had someone tell me they were going to scream the next time anyone said epilepsy was caused by a demon. This was in response to something I said, even though I had not said that epilepsy was caused by a demon. I would say to any that are frustrated at such prospects, to take it up with Jesus and save your breath trying to scream at us for simply reporting what Scripture says.

... and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen
years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all.

Luke 13:11

It is highly likely they had a different understanding of demons and spirits than we do.

No offence my brother, but you are cross mixing arguments. We are speaking about any sexually immoral behavior being sinful. Something that God does not approve of, and something which leads to eternal separation from Jesus. This is serious.
Just because we have sinned, and even will sin again, does not imply that we are unfit to proclaim that all sexual abomination is sin. I will speak for myself, but I personally do not have a problem stating that homosexuality is a sin, even if I was once a sinner, and still am (no, I was not gay, not once, not ever). In fact my experience gives me a insight in which encourages me to speak out in urgency to repent.
Lets not mix apples and oranges by trying to guilt others into silence by reminding them of their sins. Are we not cleansed? Does not not commission us to go out and spread the word? Paul, who helped laid the foundation of new testament doctrine was a murderer of Christians. That did not prevent him from boldly speaking up for Jesus, and against a sinful lifestyle.
Are you suggesting we have a tread in which we publicly recount our sins so we can move onto this one with a clear mind??

No offense taken...you make some good points. Of course homosexuality is a sin..no question.

It just seems to me that many Christians want to pick that sin as being the WORST one.. almost like saying "yes, I still lie sometimes, and I don't report ALL my income at tax time..and my new secretary sure turns me on when she wears those short skirts....but I'm not a homo! THOSE folks are lost and bound for Hell!"

It was my simple-minded way to try to remind everyone that ALL of those things are sins...none worse than the other. And all of them will lead to eternal separation from Jesus..

I'm not minimizing ANY sin...but I'm not going to pick one that is not MY particular sin and try to demonize those that struggle with it.

Absolute hogwash. Demons do not cause illness. No one is "born gay". God creates each one of us, and he doesn't create gay babies. Nor does he allow demons to be given birth along with the baby. Honestly coby, where do you get this bunk? "If the parents open the door with fornication"? People fornicate all the time!! That doesn't mean they open a portal to allow demons in. If people turn gay, I think it's caused by some deep-seated trauma, such as physical or sexual abuse, or even just them being told it's okay to be gay.

Did you ever stop to think maybe "spirit" in that verse, actually meant "disease"? It IS possible. And to say that epilepsy is caused by demons, is to say ALL illness is caused by demons, which simply is NOT TRUE.

I have a good friend who claims to be bisexual but ive known him for over 20 years and ive only known him to be with one woman so in truth he is gay. I dont judge or condemn him for it, Thats between him and God.

Luke 13:11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

Luke 13:16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

There is two verses, sounds like messenger of Satan, that which is allowed to touch the flesh and bone of a person

If he's been with a woman, he ain't that gay..lol

"Spirits" can also refer to alcohol, or someone's good or bad mood. I suppose somebody will say there's demons in alcohol. :/ lol

God gave us our minds, and we are permitted to use them. If we speak about something that is wrong, as per the bible as the foundation of why we say something, and using our life experience and education and God given wisdom as a filter, I don't see the problem with that.
I don't see anything in the bible that states we can't use our mind and mouths to speak about something from the bible, but if you think otherwise, well, your entitled to your opinion also.

Where in scripture is that? I never heard of this.

If drinking wine means drinking spirits or having devils John didnt but they said he had one

Besides, John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

Homosexuality is not an illness. It's caused by an unclean spirit and the sin nature and a lot of times by abuse. The unclean spirits came out in the temple when Jesus preached.
If you look at porn you open the door for a demon to come in or bother you and also with other sexual sin.
One guy was addicted to porn 38 years. He didn't even go for deliverance. Got set free by God's Word and he met God. He confessed that he died and rose with Christ and it was instantly gone.
That wasn't a sickness either, just his old sin nature and through the watching of porn he became a slave to sin and the power of sin, the devil.

No Blue, you most certainly cannot prove that if one illness was caused by demons then it would necessarily follow that ALL illness is caused by demons. That is the logical fallacy of non sequitur. One does not necessarily follow the other and I have no idea why you would try to present such a falsehood as truth. Furthermore, it is what I have been trying to tell you along along: their understanding was probably not what most people today would think of such. So the answer to your first question is yes, I absolutely and positively think it is possible. Go scream at someone else :p

Just be careful you don't love someone into hell.

I'm not trying to prove that if one illness is caused by demons, then they all are. I SAID that if somebody believes it's true for one illness, then they may as well say it's true for all. And I'm not screaming.. :/ And yes, alcohol IS referred to as spirits, but not in the demon sense of spirits. Spirits also describe a person's mood. And like I said, it IS possible that "spirits" in the bible, the one relating to infirmity, can mean "disease" instead of demons. :) You seriously need to learn to read people's posts correctly and accurately and stop making assumptions. Go scream somewhere else. ;)

I believe homosexuality is most often a product of environment and conditioning. My step daughter is lesbian because she was molested by a man when she was a child. My wife and I pray that she will be delivered from it

Are you sure that is why? I was molested by a man as a child and it did not make me a homosexual. So that is why I ask. If being molested as a child is what it takes to make someone gay perhaps there would be a lot more gay people? I dunno.
