Does anyone else have a problem with this?

It happens to me all the time and I hate it. I go incredibly bright red.

I don't even have to be embarassed for it to happen, and embarassment is rarely what causes it.

It happens to me just when multiple people look at me, i.e. when I'm talking in a group, etc. or when I realise that I've said something inappropriate, or when I think of what other people are thinking about me. I'm not even embarassed and I don't even know what the feeling is that I'm feeling when it happens.

I've googled blushing and there seems to be no medical way to stop it.

Does anyone have any advice?

Sharp-

Boyyyyyy are you not alone on this one. I do this all the time and frankly I haven't found a super effective way to prevent it unless it runs its course. The only thing I've found is once I feel myself blushing to burst out laughing, because it seems to leave faster. Of course, this makes me out to be a blushing crazy laughing person but at least its sort of funny.

I blush a lot too, but not out of embarrassment, like I will just start to blush when I talk in class or anything, and I am not nervous at all.. ha ha... i have no clue how to stop it.

You're right - laughing can make it go away faster - I think laughing makes the body feel more comfortable in its environment. But sometimes laughing isn't an acceptable response in some situations haha.

For me the problem with letting it run its course is that once I know that people can see that I'm blushing, it makes me blush even more, because I think, oh no people can see me blushing, how embarassing! So I look like a tomato.

baaaaaaaaaaaaa where is the groundbreaking medical research on this issue.........

try to wet your face with cold water whenever this "blushing" happens! cold temperature causes vasoconstriction that will lead to less blood running on your face!

Jer 6:15 "Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD."

Sounds to me like you are doing just fine.

As for me? I've never thought about whether I do that or not. I couldn't care less either way.

I mean, in the non-Biblical sense. I do hope that I blush before God. Maybe I'll use a mirror when I next I pray...

YES! This happens to me too all the time- like full on tomato red!
Its so embarassing because it causes people to look at me and its that which makes me blush in the first place!
People have always told me that I'll grow out of it but its been happening for the past 8 years with no sign of improvement so far :s

lol, i love this blushing thing(^^ ,) it all started when i was a baby, my family told me that my face turned so red whenever i cry (and that's how i got my nickname which is 'apple' lol..) i blush when i cry, and i blush when i'm shy, and sometimes i blush due to an embarassing moment but it's really not a bad thing, for me its cute =)

I definately understand how you feel! I blush a lottt too. And it won't always be when I'm embarrassed...it just randomly happens. Lol.
I hate it. People will be like "Why are you so red? What are you embarrassed about?" and I'm like, "What? I'm red again?" Haha. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm all red.

Grabbing your throat and gasping for breath would be another good one. Then just your cheeks wont be red, your whole entire face will be. And nobody will even know it started out as blushing!
