Great...thanks for your feedback...:)

Colors highlighting your main point are okay. If you are going to highlight a scripture (or part of it), it tells me that you are going to explain the highlight. To be honest with you, excessive highlighting makes your post look like a maze and makes me want to skip over what you have posted.

Sin causes separation from GOD.

Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2
Iniquities and sin are different, yeah?

Iniquities
Sin

I have said repeatedly I came to Christ through faith alone in the cross and not because of anything I myself have done.
To then be told I need to repent and do the same thing again is not sensible. It is calling me a liar by implication but the problem is they cannot accept a christian can believe in walking in righteousness.
Thank you for this clear, concise rebuttal Peter ... I hear you. :)

Yes - I think there are a lot of arguments revolving around miscommunication and misunderstanding, while some arguments are just plain well founded.

Yeah, helps. Gives me two thoughts:

1. "satan tempted them with a promise once they knew the knowledge they could work their way round the problem." --this isn't in my Bible. My bible reads: "You will not certainly die...for God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." Satan/Serpent "promises" they will become like God (or gods), not so much that they will be able to "work their way 'round the problem"--this seems more like commentary or a possible thought, rather than what is actually written.

2. I am reminded of 1 Cor 6:18

"Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body."
Yes you are right about a commentary. I am answering the problem if Adam thought he would actually die if he ate of the fruit he surely would not do it. Satans "promise" they will become like God, implies death is not an issue because it is not apparently a problem for God. Adam and Eve took the risk satan was right and God was wrong. Not a wise choice.
God was 100% right and satan told the truth Adam and Eve had changed, but it did not help them at all.

Thanks for the tip....I appreciate it...:)

I understand that some colors affect some people differently..for me.."Red: distracts me for some reason...and of course if our eyes aren't as good as they were, small print can be hard to see..

A tip: When pasting, use mouse right-click, "Paste as plain text" -- this has helped me.

I don't find color to be annoying in posts.
I find bolding, color and emphasis to be useful.

I do too.

Which is why he called himself the chief of sinners, 'His use of the present active tense shows that he did not think he was no longer a sinner. but he was at present, the chief of sinners
Right a chief of sinners delivering sinners over to satan and warning people not to live in sin, how could such a hypocrit come up with the revelation that we're free from sin and got a new nature and can be lead by the Spirit?
Calvin made that up if you ask me, a real killer and slave to sin.

You understand Repentance as a part of Sanctification, right?

What church would that be?
We are a charismatic Baptist church in London. The reason I mentioned talking to fellow believers is because trolling answers nothing. It is just a trick to brainwash people and keeps the idea there is nothing in the others argument.

I sometime wonder if we should attach IQ and emotional intelligence tests for contributors. I have met many people who are just not with it enough other than to express their perspective. It is not their fault.

Take EG, he only sees his past. I am not part of it or know what he is talking about, but everything I say is only seen in this light, which is just what linear thinking gets you. After having teenagers doing this to me day after day, you learn to spot it.
It takes a lot of patience to break people out of it, but it is possible.

Repentance, admiting you have sinned, turning from that sin, commiting yourself to not go back there, asking for forgiveness, confessing the sin and accepting the forgiveness of Christ through the cross, yes this is part of our lifes blood.

What complicates things is a relationship creates a dependency, which means upset or problems are more difficult to understand or see. But this is where fellowship, sharing, learning help, to share the love of Christ, the love of people and the great gospel we are part of matters.

We're not free from sin; we're free from the power of sin. The new nature gives the ability to say no to the old nature and do the will of GOD.

You gonna support this, or are ya just out shootin' skeet today?
Because God IS Good, and His character is absolute. He never acts “out of character.” He cannot deny Himself (2 Tim. 2:13). He cannot act contrary to Who He is. To do so would violate the absoluteness of His character, and He would cease to be the God that He is.

These are the kinds of posts that I find appalling!!

If God is Good, is Satan Evil?
Is Evil a force or entity or being, like God?
Has Evil always existed alongside Good?

What caused this eternal struggle before it infected mankind?

Meaning, of course, that you do consider yourself to have the IQ to understand others and express your perspective. Interesting, considering so many have no clue what you ever are writing about. Heres what a purty smart fella had to say about that....

Yes, Satan is evil. And yes, you are moving way off topic. Would be a fine subject for another thread.

Yes but I can't imagine Paul staying the chief. That would mean he was at least full of hate and fornication if he had to do worse than the people he kicked out of the church.

Interesting questions.

We do know that the darkness was there already when God began creating (Gen1)

And I think Isaiah 14 points out that Satan's sin was envy (covetry of God's throne) ... which he surely didn't inherit from God- who does not envy.

Of course he didn't. He was rescued from the body of death by Jesus Christ, just like we all are. That whole passage all leads up to that one central truth, that we have victory through Christ and Christ alone.
