I am convinced that what we have here, are a couple of cultists who are here to cause trouble and to disagree with those of us who accept the Christian view of the gospel

Neither of these two 'men' have anything to contribute other than to argue and declare things not in scripture but that they state is in scripture by stringing verses as 'proof' texts of what they put forth

This, is the post that got me riled up yesterday

KJV1611 response to me:

Without any reason for it, without any call for it, KJV1611 goes from shorts to naked body parts

I was extremely offended and not at all expecting someone with a gutter mind to respond to my innocent post as did Mr 1611

Here we have basically been joking and even having some fun; but this person AND chuck are not having fun and that is what you should take into consideration

These two are utterly serious ...didn't you read the post where chuck took literature away from his wife and cancelled a Bible study? Don't you know spiritual abuse in action when you see it?

Neither of these 2 men are preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ

I cannot say how much I wish this thread would either be shut down or everyone still in here, would leave off posting and let these two cultists do their thing elsewhere

That's not spiritual abuse. My ex got all those books from William Branham and later from a weird anti freemasonry preacher with false teachings in it. I kinda demanded he would throw it out of the house. My mom just threw away my dad's kaballah book.
They're not cultists for believing what the Bible says. If I hadn't heard another interpretation in church I would read it like that too. There's thousands of fine Dutch reformed christians who believe that. The women have to wear long very modest dresses and hats to church. They may not work or buy anything on Sunday. One place they have to wear clothes from the fashion of 200 years back. So what? They're great christians. We just don't agree on everything.

Thanks and you also Demi!

some cults are VERY anti-women but they do not say so right up front

instead, they quote scripture taken out of context to besmirch and cause doubt

I have been reading posts from chuck since he joined...he's very articulate and began his campaign right from the start

here's a link to a thread he started in suggestions wherein you or anyone can read some of his beliefs regarding the reasons he thinks he is here...to teach us all of course

In the suggestions forum

this is one of his posts from that thread:

I volunteer my time out of love. My family says that I shouldn't spend time on you all because it doesn't make any money.

Love that doesn't protect ceases to be love.

You also have to understand that I'm a Christian first and that our relationship is not a two way street if you want me to accept heresies or wolves attacking sheep.

What would Jesus say?

Revelation 2:20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.

In light of Revelation 2:20, whose version of love is correct? Your version or Jesus' version of love?

what does his family mean he should not spend time on us unless he is paid?

Nope, absolutely not true. ALL sin is equal in the eyes of God's eyes. No one sin is worse than another. Homosexuality is no better nor worse than murder.
John 19:11, Matthew 12:31, Mark 3:29, 1 John 5:16-18. Also, I think our own God-given common sense tells us that some sins are worse than others. To me that's clear.

Billy Graham is a heretic, he openly says that there are other ways to God other than through Jesus Christ.

I watched the video and though I may not agree with his assessment of some people I DID NOT HEAR HIM DENY THAT JESUS WAS THE ONLY WAY.

He did NOT say there are ways to heaven outside of Jesus Christ. He SAID there are Christians who don't know they are Christians yet!! There are people with the heart of a Christian who do not have a full understanding yet. There are people who are Christians who are not yet aware of it. Look at the bigger picture! God looks at the HEART. There are even professing Christians who aren't Christian.

You are one of the more rational posters here. Almost definitely the most diplomatic. And you do have a spirit of unity and peace.
God bless your heart.

I get what you/he is trying to say; there are people out there who have never heard of God or Jesus, but are living according to their conscience and the law that God has placed in every human heart in such a way that, although without knowledge of Christ, live good lives. To say that they are "Christians who don't know they are Christians yet", isn't a great way to phrase it in my opinion. They aren't Christians. That doesn't take away from the truth of what you're saying though. :)

do you really think I just meant the book?

you are entitled to your opinion of course

you are also free to have personal consideration for them

I have no idea what the books are about...I am talking about the way they address women and talk down to them and take scripture out of context

period

if you find their responses to women in here to be to your liking and agreement? then go ahead and place yourself under that kind of authority...it does not come from God

The Word of God proclaims, “A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent” (1 Timothy 2:11–12). In the church, God assigns different roles to men and women. This is a result of the way mankind was created and the way in which sin entered the world (1 Timothy 2:13–14). God, through the apostle Paul, restricts women from serving in roles of teaching and/or having spiritual authority over men. This precludes women from serving as pastors over men, which definitely includes preaching to them, teaching them publicly, and exercising spiritual authority over them.

http://www.gotquestions.org/women-pastors.html

Your quotations of Paul do not overrule the rest of the Bible. God, throughout the Bible, in the OT, NT, and prophecy, has put women in positions of leadership.

The Holy Spirit that was given to Paul was also given to us. The Spirit that inspired his words and led him, also inspires us and leads us. So if the Holy Spirit positions a woman to lead, the apostle Paul's words do not have authority to restrict the Holy Spirit.

"For who knows a person's thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. For who knows a person's thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God." (1 Cor 2:10-11)

Part of why the bible gives us such a vast record with a variety of situations, is to cause us to rely on God directly, not using a book as a go-between for simple formulaic answers. The pharisees quoted scripture but misapplied it to Christ because they did not know what spirit they are of. The Bible does not speak for itself -- the Spirit teaches us what it means and interprets it for the nuance of every situation we face. Surrendering to the guidance of the Holy Spirit is crucial.

There is no such thing as a spirit filled woman preacher. The sprit bears witness against her in that a woman should not preach. A spirit filled woman wont go against the word of God.
God has spoken through many things -- through traitors, through men who formerly killed christians. even through donkeys. God often turns human systems on their head to humble people and show them he is God -- our human systems aren't God.

Please don't presume to limit who God can use and what God can use them for.
