You have twisted my meaning.
Women are already desirable. They don't really have to do a whole lot to impress.
They already have what a guy wants....he wants a woman.
But for a guy, he has to have these standards and qualifications
or the woman is going to move on and find the guy who has them.

Most guys that are lonely are just happy to have someone that's going to
stay by his side and be faithful, if he's lucky enough to get that,
but the woman already has what he wants. She's a woman!

I'm saying that as a compliment to womanhood in general.
I love women and think they're God's finest creation.....
that's why He saved the best for last, and in their specialness,
they can afford to be particular, and want the best, which they deserve.

But as a guy who just wasn't good enough when I was younger, and now
I've gotten old so even Less desirable, (not that I ever was), the
opportunity to be that is pretty much gone.

But I'm not saying women just get some drunk from an asylum.....
Or some guy that just throws himself her way...not at all! But
there are a lot of decent guys all around, lonely and just need a chance.

But this started because I pointed out that most of the guys that get that chance have already had it....even a few times, often having a family even,
and seem to be the ones that get the attention, but the guys that never really were given a chance, though just as lonely, or more, continue to be alone.

I was just pointing out the facts I've both observed and experienced, not intending to be insulting AT ALL, but what you said about going for twenties was pretty cold and mean.
How do you think it makes a guy feel to be accused of that?
There wouldn't be a twenty year old that would want me anyway,
even if that's what I was about, which I'm not.

And mostly women my age aren't interested in an 'eros' love at this point anyway, or have had their share, and now their focus in life is other things, and someone like me just isn't necessary or wanted anymore, so that really didn't make me feel too good.

But I've come to expect that.

Being put down for being alone all my life is common.
If I had been in other relationships in my life, the response would have been different, that was my point proven.
Of course you accuse me of being cold and mean when all I do is say that more is required of women that what you claim (to be breathing), nor did say anything about you specifically going for twenty year olds so you twist what I say. In fact I did not say anything about anyone going for twenty year olds. I asked if you were looking at 20 year olds to say that women can get anyone they want, because the FACT of the matter is that if a man that I desired wanted me I would no more be alone than you would. More is required of me than that I simply be breathing but you will not admit it even though you know for a fact it is true! I have been rejected many times over and probably so has every single woman on this site despite how easy you say it is for us to be in a relationship if we wanted to be.

She didn't say that. She said do you look at how easy 20 year olds can get a man.
Stop speaking negative. God can give you someone tomorrow. My ex is 56. He prayed for a wife, I prayed for him, went to a dating site to delete his account. Bam. 50 some year old supermodel from Brazil, on fire for the Lord and as one of the few not after his money 'cause he has no money. Married her a year later. And he really doesn't look better than you. Just knows who he is in Christ and that if you ask you receive.
Coby! Coby coby coby! She didnt say look how easy they get a man.... What she said was, 'Who am I looking at, twenty year olds?'
Lol, as if I could see that far, lol.

And I'm not sure what you meant about my looks,
but you're usually pretty sweet so I'll take it
that you didn't mean it as an insult, lol,

but see...you're husband married you, so he's got
to be pretty decent looking, and now he's got a model,
so again, he's got to be at least ok, plus you proved my
point again.....he's had his women, and then he gets
another, but those who don't seem to remain ... don't. :p

Pffff men...
'Women can just like that get a man.'
'Who are you looking at? 20 year olds?'
That means:
45+ year olds don't get a man that easy, they wish.
That's all she said.

And when you are fifty, men your age want thirty five years olds, not women their own age. Thirty five year olds who are blond and slim and so much more than just breathing. To be told that is all that is required is insulting from any woman's perspective knowing the pain of rejection just as surely as anyone else. Even as a twenty year old I could not have whomever I wanted. Saying such things is just plain ignorant. As a twenty year old I was hospitalized due to multiple overdoses after my boyfriend left me for my best friend. No doubt she was sexier than I was.

THIS IS NUTS! Communication Breakdown!

I didn't say YOU were cold, I said THAT LINE saying
I'm looking at 20 year olds was a kinda cold thing to say.

And who are all these morons that are rejecting all you women?
This makes no sense to me?!

First, for a guy to reject a woman, it would mean
he's the one that was approached.

Sorry, but that's just never been my experience,
women don't ever approach me, not ever when I hung in bars,
certainly not in church, not in stores, and not even when I was in a band, when most musicians had some kind of groupie, lol.

Nope, not me, never been approached, so I never had the
opportunity to reject someone, nor would I be such a dope,
unless, well, she'd have to be pretty bad.

Somebody like me
isn't in a position to go rejecting others, at least not as friends,
and if a relationship (what's that?) was looming and we weren't
compatible (what's that?), I would hope we'd both know it and
still be friends.

But that would be a long way off, as I don't think
those things should be taken lightly.
I believe in love, and I believe it's forever,
so we'd have to be the right fit on ALL levels, (ahem),

but I don't understand the way ppl seem to try so many
others out like they're trying on shoes, but maybe that's
why I'm so single, I don't know.

I'm sorry, ... I told you I was having a down day,
and I shouldn't have made that comment
about guys that had somebody get the attention,
but guys that don't, still don't, even though it was
proven true, I just shouldn't have pointed it out,

because I knew I'd be taken the wrong way, and
made to feel worse than I already was today.
Story of my life! Sorry. :(

45+ year olds don't get a man that easy, they wish.
That's all she said.
That's not what I meant, coby, at all!
This was intended as a compliment,
honest to goodness, but I'm getting
fileted here, yikes.

In one church that I go to, there's
many many, decent single guys that
would probably make a pretty good mate,

and there's also alot of beautiful women,
though I don't know who's single, I don't really
know too many ppl there, we're there for prayer
and worship the night I go.

There're all ages, but I still think it's the women
that would make the call on whether they reject
a guy, not the other way around.

Maybe times have changed, (I wish), but it doesn't
seem like the women are doing any 'approaching',
and I think alot of the guys are reluctant because of
the times we're in, and the misunderstandings and
misjudged motives that can occur.

Anyways...God bless you both
I mean no harm, honest I don't,
I'm just a lonely guy that's misunderstood,
not having the best of days, I guess,
but that's my fault for not knowing how to
find the right way to express how I think and feel.

I visited a church yesterday and two members, husband and wife did the sermon together. I for one thought it was adorable:eek: The message was showing that we as a body of Christ are sent for the "Great Commission" which is to go make disciples of all nations. Matthew 28:16-20. However, individually we were created with different gifts and callings. Does that make a preacher more important than a teacher? The answer to that is "no". If God has placed a gift of being a pastor unto a woman than who are we to judge that calling? Now, I firmly believe that her husband still needs to be head of the home and supports her completely in her role of the church just as it would be if the roles were reversed. The message went on to describe that even though we have different gifts we need each other as a body of Christ, brothers and sisters if you will because even though we may not agree all the time we strengthen and support one another as we have one thing in common we are sons and daughters of the most high God and commissioned to spread the good news.

I don't think woman should be dressing immodestly. Especially not Christian woman.
How long have you been born again?

Me? 44 years. "Dress modestly." Covered withing the first week, month, next month, following month for 527 months. By now, it's like:

Okay, children, today I will teach you how to read. The first lesson is the first letter in the alphabet.

A. A. A. A.

(Six weeks later.)
A. A. A. A.

(12 years later.)
A. A. A. A.

What must all women learn. "Dress modestly."

I find it offensive that it's 44 years later and we're still on the first letter of the alphabet. Easy letter. Doesn't take that long to learn. So exactly why is it constantly harped? "Gonna talk to those silent women in church. Let's talk about dressing modestly. After all they're dumber than mentally impaired turkeys, so really drive home the lesson..

And, if you think I'm kidding, what are the only two lessons being taught to women on this post?"Dress modestly cuz guys can't hep 'emselves," And "shut up in church."

Is there a natural tendency in guys that they just don't want to fill our pretty little heads with something semi interesting? Let's not overwhelm the poor little girl over the rest of the book. Let's really get them down to "Dress modestly."

And then? Then we can flog them for not knowing how to dress modestly for every single man they come in contact with. I'm mean, they're so incredibly dumb, what else can we try to teach them?

Nifty idea. How about not treating women like morons?

For the most part, she just has to be breathing,
and if she doesn't want to be alone,
she doesn't have to be.

Or maybe I should just say, if I was a woman,
and I didn't want to be alone,
I know I wouldn't have to be.
Well shoot, I must not be breathing right.

It's in, then out, right?

Then in again? :p

Amen, and I feel like I've said that last line a dozen different ways on here lately.....man the backbiting, the sniping, the ignore button like a bunch of little schoolkids, threats of 'reporting' each other, there's an air of nastiness
that I'm sure our Saviour must be smacking himself in the forehead over.

It just doesn't make sense. This world is spinning out if control, and evil is flourishing, and we as believers in Jesus in 2016 have an opportunity to draw a sharp contrast between the darkness and the light, ... between ppl who are stumbling around in the world, being victims of the enemy and each others harsh treatment, and us, who are Supposed to be sons and daughters of the living God who treat each other with mercy and forgiveness and love. And maybe we need a reminder that this really isn't an option.

Jesus' commandment is that we love one another. Maybe we don't always want to like it, but He didn't say, 'Love if you feel like it', ... He said 'I have loved you, now go love one another'. (Or I'm coming to bash your heads together like Moe does to Larry and Curly) (He really said that ;))

Thx for the msg about the couple. I have a friend who met a girl in a baptist church a few years back...they wound up married, he's pastoring a church in N. Jersey now, she does so much there, children's ministry, new believers, admin, etc., they pray and evangelize together, and their little church is growing rapidly and the neighborhood is being blessed.

That's as it should be, equal partners, different roles, but they help each other, and just like if he had to, I'm sure he'd pitch in a take care of the kids
for a Sunday...maybe not as good as her...

and if she had to in a pinch, she might have to take his sermon outline and deliver the Word sometime...idk, maybe they have an elder for that, but the point is, they're fruitful members of the body if Christ because of abiding in His love and not letting the problems that inevitably arise, to cause bitterness, and and a wedge to come between them.

I need to read and re-read 1John again, those words of love have got to get down deep in my soul, I know I can do a better job of it,
and I know our Saviour Jesus is worth the effort. :) GBU, cm.

Well shoot, I must not be breathing right.

It's in, then out, right?

Aarrgghh! Lol.
You ladies just aren't getting my meaning.
MM, I know you. You're a catch, and there's probly
20 guys right now that would be happy to be your
guy, (and be blessed for it).
If they're too shy or afraid or for whatever reason
they're not approaching, don't let that be a reflection
on you....that's on them, not you!

My point about 'breathing' is that for the most part,
you all don't have to go all out to impress.

Most guys aren't out there demanding you have a Phd,
and dress in a ball-gown and heels, make a fortune, etc.,
we're just happy that your not guys, and you generally
smell a little nicer, and look a little prettier,
and feel a little softer, (so I've heard),
and most of us just want companionship
and support and loyalty.

At least that's what
most guys I know would be happy with.....
that's what I mean about breathing.....that you're
women and we love you for that,
just be women!

That msg one person said about 50something guys
going after girls half their age is kind of a shame....

I don't know guys like that, I know I'm not, and it really
does stink if that's any woman's constant experience,
especially our sisters.

I understand the anger over that,
but I really don't think all guys are like that. I hope not.

Hmmmm.... ehhhh..... *ugh*

What? Our national folkloristic pride! I had an aunt who walked around like that every day. Unfortunately the young women don't want to wear it anymore, otherwise it would have been the perfect place for Phil112 to live. A whole town and church full of these gorgious dresses. He'd love it.
