When we understand the new creation in Christ and what our Lord actually did - we will see how great and awesome our Lord's finished work was for us. The gospel of the grace of Christ is the only thing that has the power in it to effect a true change in us by His Spirit in and through us.

In "it" is the power of God for salvation. We need to hear the gospel of the grace of Christ every day!

Romans 1:16-17 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

This is just about all you do - copy/paste proselytizing from the escapefromreality website.

There is a difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant...things have changed...that's why they call it "new"....it may conflict with our religious tradition and what we were taught in church but as you can see it's hardly statanic..it actually glorifies Jesus more and shows His love and grace in full demonstration.

Did Jesus Put Price tags on Forgiveness?

The Lord wants everyone to come to Him!..He loves us deeply.

John 7:37-39 (NASB)
[SUP]37 [/SUP] Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.

[SUP]38 [/SUP] "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'"

[SUP]39 [/SUP] But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

There is no great revelation then to know the Lord Jesus and our good, loving Father!

2 Peter 3:18 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

This formula seems to be a set of New Laws, not from God, some saying yes, some saying no, but all saying do as I say.......

I prefer to read all of the Word of God, and learn from Him. I do not need a man or a group of men to tell me what is yes and what is no........I have Jesus Christ, God, Who teaches me, and all who believe Him.....

Here is a visual for those that like visuals...

I encourage you to look at all the scriptures and do so in relation that there "was" an Old Covenant and now there "is" a New Covenant. The Old Covenant is no more in effect - only the New. We have a better covenant based on better promises bought with the precious blood of our Lord Jesus....which speaks of better things....We have a great salvation in our Lord Jesus...:).

Hebrews 8:12-13 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] "FOR I WILL BE MERCIFUL TO THEIR INIQUITIES, AND I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE."

[SUP]13 [/SUP] When He said, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear.

On the subject of forgiveness that we have in Christ now because of His precious Blood...here is what the scriptures say..

1 John 2:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] I am writing to you, little children, becauseyour sins have been forgiven you for His name's sake.

have been forgiven = perfect passive

perfect =
The perfect tense expresses perfective action. Perfective action involves a present state which has resulted from a past action. The present state is a continuing state; the past action is a completed action. It is continuously in the present

passive = voice = action is happening to you....you are not doing it

Without a doubt this verse says that the sins are forgiven from a past action that remains in a continuous completed state and that was put on them....not something they did

Ephesians 1:7 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

We have redemption = present continuous action...so this means we have present continuous forgiveness of our sins...

and look...that grace stuff shows up again!...it's all according to the riches of our loving Father's grace that He has given to us in Christ our Lord.

Colossians 1:13-14 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
[SUP]14 [/SUP] in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Same thing here too...present continuous action = forgiveness of sins

Redemption!..we have been bought with the precious Blood of Jesus... Let's honor His work

Brethren ...we have a great salvation in our Lord!

A crucial difference between the new and old covenants is that under the former we are obligated to obey Jesus' words and commandments. Those under the latter followed the law of Moses.

Here are some great teachings on the commands of Jesus!..I encourage people to feed themselves on the goodness of the Lord.

There are lot's of good teaching for those interested in this subject to go and read...I find the comments at the bottom really useful too as people can ask questions.. I like to use this website as he has a grace-based view of things and he tackles the obscure and difficult passages by viewing them through the grace "lens" of the New Covenant.

Search Results commands Jesus – Escape to Reality

Enjoy!..you will grow in grace and fall deeper in love with our good, loving Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Angela, you have a very irritating, condescending and abusive spirit. I put you on ignore after your rude response to me earlier, but I must answer your charges against Peter because I don't like your abusive attitude. I frankly think that you are a poser, who pretends to have more spiritual authority than is rightfully yours. You try to act like Ms Authority, but in this particular arena, you seem to be abysmally ignorant. This controversy has been going on for months. I've watched it nearly every day since the beginning. Peter's observations are entirely correct. IMO, Peter's use of the indirect third person (they) was to conceptually discuss the topic without mentioning those who have verbalized these things. So your charge that Peter was slandering everyone on this forum is just stupid. You're trying to act like Ms. Large-and-in-Charge, and you have no clue what's going on. And if you do, then you are entirely guilty of partiality, because Grace777x70 habitually indulges in passive-aggressive "slander" using the indirect third party method. You had me fooled. I thought that you were worthy of respect.

Again you need to look in the mirror.. Everything you said here would represent you to a T.

I'm documenting this so that I can have it a mouse-click away. Spirit of a false accuser.

You make me laugh..

Actions speak louder than words dude, You prove by your words you do not care or listen to anything anyone says, because you continuously slander people. every chance you get..

What is the topic again? :D
to paraphrase, as much as I can remember,

Me and people like me love sin, Tell people they can live any way they want, Hate the word obedience, and think all people who teach obedience are legalists.

all of which are lies. and false accusations.

Will you please demonstrate by indicating one post in this thread that states salvation may be earned by works?

Jesus Christ was obedient unto death on the cross. According to Peter, we are to follow in His example, and His example does not teach disobedience.

Now if you think anyone here is teaching law only, this is a product of an imagination tainted by faith and grace without works. Good works follow salvation, unless the saved is an ingrate, in which case he could very well lose what he thought he had............it is in the Book, in the New Testament part.

Could you please show anyone who is teaching otherwise?

And no one has claimed anyone is law only.

I guess she is just satanic and gnostic too....she wants to sin all the time...etc. etc........it goes with the territory....

as roaringkitten says..we should be rejoicing in these malice and slanderous attacks..

Quote from post #1037

My fellow believers of grace, let us take consolation in the Word and what it says:

"Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and
shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake." Matt 5:11

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience;
that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ." 1 Pet 3:15-16

That image (and virtually every image he posts) comes from the false-grace website that he incessantly proselytizes for. They have a special section with graphics that are devoted to this end.

Answering on your straw-man segment.

When a grace only individual protests to the declaration that we should obey God for our new nature has converted us from children of disobedience to children of obedience, it cannot be said that this is not equivalent to teaching disobedience in favor of licentious grace.
FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME, NO ONE IN THIS ROOM HAS DONE THIS.

will you please get off what ever it is you are on. and stop falsely accusing people of condemning you because you teach obedience, That has NEVER BEEN THE CASE.

this is why there is so much contention in chat, Because everyone refuses to listen to the other person. and continuously attacks the other person with false accusations.

I find it amazing Grace777 just made two posts concerning how a child of God is to be obedient, and you had to go back to the "grace only people protesting people who teach obedience bit. "

If it is too hard for people to see no one is judging them for teaching obedience. then maybe they need to take a break??

BECAUSE NO ONE IS CONDEMNING THAT!

To say the Gospel of Jesus Christ has one message for the Hebrews and an altogether distinct message for the Gentiles who have been brought to be with the original Flock shows an enormous void of understanding or apostasy, for we all know the same gospel that was given to Abraham, long before the law was given, is the same by which we are all saved.

To say there is a different truth for one people from our Father, and another truth for another group of peoples is sadly in erro.

ok again, who here is doing this? I have not seen this in CC for quite some time now.. So who currently (besides maybe one person I can think of, who has not even stepped foot in this room) believes this?

You may benefit from the letter to the Ephesians. Also, Jesus tells us to obey the Father, not only in word but by His own example, and all know He is our example, and we are to follow in His footsteps, as is written.
Are you perfect at this?

Neither am I.

So who is more righteous?

see where self righteousness falls apart if you try to compare everyone to Gods perfect standard?

False-grace believers and others do say that ongoing obedience to the will of GOD is not required for salvation. So JaumeJ is correct.
