Do we worship the Word of God (Jesus) or words on a page (Bible)?
Good point..I think Jesus Himself backs you up with that...( personally I can't believe the complete spiritual foolishness of this thread...and all those that are KJV only..
John 5:39-40 (NASB)
[SUP]39 [/SUP] "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me;
[SUP]40 [/SUP] and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.
Why do you think there's a difference between the Word of God and the word of God? The bible says the word of God is alive and most certainly it is. The bible is way beyond just being a book, it truly is alive.Do we worship the Word of God (Jesus) or words on a page (Bible)?
When you got saved, did you put your trust in Scripture or the Savior of the Scriptures?
That's like saying maps or commentries are part of the bible. It's ridiculous to say and the only reason you bring it up is because you can't prove the KJV has errors.

really? since when did maps ever say they were inspired? your logic scares me...mr spock would not approve either
I don't have to prove the KJV has errors...it's well known by the many corrections that have been made since its inception
I mean, seriously, your response reminds me of : nah nah nah nah nah...phzzzt!
The only scriptures available at that time were the Old Testament scriptures. The Old Testament scriptures truly did testify of Christ through the law, the feasts and the foreshadows in the lives of the people in the Old Testament.
So why do you think the Jews thought they had eternal life in the scriptures instead of seeing that they testified of Christ? I'll give you a hint... it's for the same reason that you reject that Stumbling stone and Rock of offence KJV bible. You can't see the word of the Lord hidden in the shadows and stories of the New Testament. It is actually you who think you have eternal life in the scriptures and it is actually I that sees the testimony of Christ hidden in the shadows and stories of the New Testament.
Sorry, I'm not trying to offend you, I'm just telling you the truth.... You are doing exactly the same thing the Jews did when Jesus said what he said.
it's ok .....you are not offending me....I know better...the bible is NOT God....it is a book that is translated from inspired manuscripts to reveal Jesus to us...I am not into book worship..the book is to help the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus...
I'm sorry but I did have to laughat the KJV only being called the" stumbling stone and the rock of offense"...here I always thought that was for Jesus...I'm sure that even the KJV says that......that statement makes me shake my head in utter dis-belief.....This will be the last I post on this as this is just too weird for me......every time I come in to this thread it gets weirder and weirder....Have a great night...God bless you..
i believe there are a lot of people who are saved and have never had a copy of scripture, in any language. certainly before the printing press, this is true.
READ ALL ABOUT IT.....FACTS NOT FICTION...
THE KJV1611 IS A WEE BABE COMPARED TO THE ACTUAL FIRST TRANSLATIONS
History of the manuscripts we now know as 'The Bible"
That's like saying maps or commentries are part of the bible. It's ridiculous to say and the only reason you bring it up is because you can't prove the KJV has errors.
God knew what would become of the English language and how the great modern missionary movement of the late 1700's through the 1950's would be carried out by American and English missionaries carrying one Bible and translating it into hundreds of foreign languages and dialects. No Bible in history has been used, honored and hated as much as the King James Bible. The King James Bible was even read out loud from space as the astronauts orbited the moon.
God also knew the great battle concerning the preservation of His words would take place during the times of the falling away from the faith before the glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ. I think it quite possible that we are living in those times now. Never before has the Holy Bible itself been under such fierce attack. The irony is that those who now attack the Bible are those who bear the name of Christians.
They refuse to believe that God has in fact preserved His words in the one Book that has been used and blessed by God a hundred times more than any other. History and the sovereignty of God bear witness that the King James Bible is that one Book, without proven error.
The Hebrew word "cherub" is transliterated in most English bibles. The plural should either be, "cherubs" (English plural) or "cherubim" (Hebrew plural). What does the KJV have? "Cherubims". There ya go... the KJV has an error (actually, 57 of them in this one example).
Case closed. Have a nice day.
....The bible is way beyond just being a book, it truly is alive.
here's another error that you and your brethren refuse to acknowledge
Staunch Calvinist Theodore Beza was one of the editorsof the Textus Receptus. The KJV translators had hischanges, which included “If they shall fall away” in Heb.6:6. Such a misrendering helps to preserve Calvinism’sperseverance of the saints. Adam Clarke’s commentaryshows the errors of that as being: (a) the word “If” was unjustlyinserted and (b) the tense is aorist, meaning it shouldbe translated in the past tense, “HAVE fallen away.”Another distortion occurred at Heb. 10:38!
you ask for proof of errors and when you are given them, you ignore them
it is inconceivable that people would actually think a version of the Bible in English was inspired by God
and everyone who speaks a different language is going to hell because they don't have the inspired version
you may not believe that folks who do not swear to the KJV only club are not saved, but apparently many do, which is one of the main reasons that KJV onlyists are considered to be a cult with erroneous teaching...
erroneous teaching ALWAYS includes a refusal to acknowledge that another outside of the group may be right
it also ALWAYS teaches that the interpretation given by the group is 100% correct and unquestionable...meaning everyone else is wrong
