By the way, yes, many times questions go unanswered. I asked a question regarding context and exegesis about 3 times, and not one person in opposition to my view took a go at it.
That conversation is pages back.,,,should we wait for you to catch up reading?

I am a thread skimmer please don't steamroll me, but you really owe nu2see an apology. Poor guy was just joking and saying outrageous things to get a shock response out of his sister. Brothers do all sorts of crazy things for a laugh.

Everything okay with you? Seems like your wound up tight.

Do you feel lead to preach? Cuz if so, dont let folks on an internet forum stop you.

But you might want to work on bridling your tongue and seek more godly discernment first.

I don't know why folks would seek,to be in charge of a congregation...it sounds like a big responsibility.

If done for the right reason most people feel a calling on their life. I was very young when I felt a call on my life. I believe its the same way with pastoring a church.

Gossip is betraying something you know about someone that everyone else does not know. It is betraying a confidence. Posts in here are not in confidence. It is not gossip to speak of them because the person has posted these things.

I wasn't trying to demean her. I was trying to help a sister understand her kicking and flailing and punching. That was not done to be cruel.

My brothers and sisters in here can judge quite well when something is said out of spite or cruelty and when it is said for other reasons. We might get confused sometimes because of our heart of love and hope, when we fail to judge the way we have been told to - by fruit - and begin to judge a different way. But we eventually find unity and love in the Spirit, even when we disagree on something because we humble ourselves to one another in love, do not take offense at each other, bear with one anothers weaknesses and never stop hoping.

So what did you feel called to do?

I kind if ignored this thread cuz the first few pages setup the downward decline, but might as well try and uplift it maybe by stating what we do agree women can do.

Yes I got the idea that you tried to help her and explain that she was angry. Let's all pray for her husband instead of this useless quarreling.

Good morning Jd!
Do not be drawn into this without firmly holding in your mind the difference between A church and THE church. One day God will say to THE church, come out of her, My people.

We who are THE church have been told how to spot those who are our brothers and sisters. It works very well. We look for good fruit. What are the fruits of the Spirit in us?
Amen ! Praise God that the gates of hell will not prevail.

Taking about someone's pain and "explaining" their actions to someone is gossip.

I have probably been guilty of it too and ask God to forgive me.

People get in heated discussions. Emotions get high, but everyone should take a step back, pray and establish common ground and build upon that. Or the discussion quickly becomes an argument and folks lose respect and common decency for each other.

Bible talks about it and tells us to avoid it.

Are you sure? Outside of the hubby has a medical condition, I see nothing in it even halfway related to me. I wasn't even here last fall, and frankly, life was good because of that.

If that is about me, it answers who she is and how she happens to know Syd was booted before she joined, because she was too.

(Hey! I quit and then rejoined. And, sure enough I quit last August and didn't rejoin until Decemberish, so I said absolutely nothing on here last fall.)

Something is very fruity now!

(For those who missed the gossip, here are the charges leveled:
Your motives are sincere, of the heart, with love. :)
Sometimes we miss someone else's true intent, even though they aren't really hiding it, because love always hopes.
She has stated the truth a few times in different places and different threads.
She is not really angry and upset at you.
She is angry and upset at God.
She has a hard time accepting some things in the OT and it has her angry and upset.
She's dealt with a lot of anguish of late with her husband's medical condition.
She clearly states here plainly she gave up last autumn.
It does start looking like she's not even trying to be rational and the reason is her motive is anger and frustration and is coming from the place of gutwrenching pain and howling sorrow. Her fist is against the whole world right now and her protest has some validity but she won't get anywhere even though it does. Because whatever is not done out of love won't fix it ever.
)

Are you sure you have no dog in this fight, because honestly? I thought sheep were supposed to warn each other about wolves.

And, again, this is what bothers me about the men on here. If it's a brother that is wrong and attacking, no one ever thinks it's their responsibility to do something. If it's a woman? As long as she dresses modestly. I am consistent at least, even when I wander off topic. We have the same problem with the women?

I'm not out to save Elizabeth, but I sure warned against the gossip. Now that I hear it's about me, I see how off the gossip is. I'm still not defending myself. But cut the cancer before it spreads! We've got a wolf spreading false gossip!

Talking about someones pain is not gossip.
If we have a bad motive in our heart, it can become gossip.

And if we are walking in the Spirit, we do not lose respect and common decency for each other. It is when we are not walking by the Spirit that this happens.

I think all those services are hard to compare. I could have called myself a pastor woman years ago and have everyone get mad, while I only once or twice taught 5 women a sermon my ex wrote from a paper in a room, not on sunday, because it was about women issues and it was weird if he did that. In our services (a tiny group in a house now) it's normal for a woman to say something or give a testimony before or after the preaching.
Once went to Canada. Pastors conference. One woman who was an elder or elder's wife whatever didn't dare talk to me because I was the wife of the senior paster. Senior paster LOL we had 20 people and 2 elders or decans. Can't even remember. It was that important.
LOL I've been to many churches over the years. When we moved, we needed to find a new church, so we checked a bunch out to find one that was home. (Pre-Internet days, so we had to hoof it.) Many many churches, and yet have never run into the type Kayagirl is with, nor one where a woman was afraid to talk to the pastor's wife. I keep thinking I understand stuff just to find out I haven't even covered a 10th of the stuff to understand. LOL
