Why the king james?

This tells me you do not have anything to back up what you say. This is not first time either, I continually ask simple questions which if you are correct you should be able to give clear concise explanation, even if it is in bullet points, but you never have done so, you only respond with an attack and ignore points of discussion when they become too exposed to defend.

I can't do it... sorry. Edit - I can't prove the KJV is inerrant.
 
Can you see Christ and the Holy Spirit in this story? Also can you see Christ giving the "living water" to the Old Testament scriptures in this story? Again, none of this is written in the letter... the words written down on paper, it's in the spirit of those words.

And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor. [11] And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water .

Man is in control of what God has said. That's the way man likes it. Pick and choose which you feel is the best book, chapter, verse, and word. If you don't like it, pick another translation that agrees with you and go with that.

There's truth to be had in Luke 10:1, "After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come."

Did Jesus send out 70 or 72 men? V.17 "And the SEVENTY returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name."


This section of Scripture is relating historical facts, and the Traditional Greek texts tell us that Jesus sent out SEVENTY men. This is the reading found in the Majority of all Greek texts, including Sinaiticus, A, and C to name just a few. However the Vaticanus manuscript has SEVENTY TWO men sent out in both verse 1 and 17. The confusion is seen in the multitude of modern versions where not even the critical text editions agree among themselves.

God's word is truth. It is HUGE deal to mess around with God's truth.

Did man, or God put the pen to the paper in order to create the KJV bible?
 
It's God's way of preserving His inspired words in another the language as he foresaw the English language exploding. He would use this language for the beginnings of the world's largest missionary movement.

The originals were God's words and the writers preserved them by writing them down as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The words were inspired, not the men.

I think I catch your drift.

I disagree with your conclusion, but I'm OK with that; I'd like to agree to disagree.

More important than accuracy of text is this: Is the Gospel of Christ the version's story? Or, rather, is the deity of Christ being omitted?

If your favorite version of the Bible paints the picture of Christ as God, then it's a trustworthy version.
 
The only untrustworthy versions I can think of are the Joseph Smith and Lighthouse versions--and I don't even feel 100% OK with stating this here. For, who am I to judge another's faith? Who am I to tell another their scriptures are false? We walk by faith, not by sight.
 
Yes, however, if the text you use has errors in it, why would a lost person want to here about the Savior of that text? What do we have to stand up against the world's view, if we don't have 100% truth to rely on? I need the word of God to appeal to for truth.

Innocent until proven guilty. The KJV has been attacked since its beginning, but has never been proven wrong. What people do not understand is the KJV was not even written in the common language of that day. The writers wanted to be true to the text and could not use the common language of English because it had already begun to be changed. In 1611, no one talked using "thees and thous." But these words make the text more valid.

Ok, I was just using this term in a generic fashion. I apologize if you thought I was meaning you. I am not part of the crowd on this board who attack people.

One thing I am passionate about, however, is the word of God. I couldn't be passionate over something that I believed contained errors. That would make it just another book.
