Haha, I still don't quite get how to be fluent in Singlish lol! It's basically English (UK) in the accent of Chinese with random Malay and Indonesian words, and the Mandarin intonation, of course.

The struggle gets real when I'm in at church. I'm the only foreigner in our team and there are so many times when I don't get their joke and they don't get mine xD

In the Philippines, Filipino (Tagalog) and English are the two major languages. Filipino is more widely spoken than Cebuano (minor language). I had to learn all 3 languages since I started schooling at 5-6 years old. And I haven't stopped xD

What are the other cultures in your church? You mentioned you have people from many parts of the world!
mostly pacific island and indian and pakistani my pastor is from pakistan actually my race in terms of young white nz europeans is a real minority i think i n a church of 1000 theres maybe 3 white young girls but we have alot of indian, pacific island and Maori but more so pacific island

do they make dishes with pineapple and sweet chilli sauce in the Phillipines? whats common food they use in dishes? tropical fruits?
We may actually do, I just don't know what it's called and I've never seen it xD Hmm tropical fruits, I don't know if you've heard of Durian?

As for common food... A LOT! We LOVE to eat. We always find reasons to EAT. Lol and we have way too many food bloggers. I'm not the adventurous type though, when it comes to food (and everything else, actually, lol) though. So I only eat the 'default' canned food lol, omelettes and etc.

Remember I told you about my bestfriend studying in NZ? She's in Glenfield by the way. So she sent me a picture of her entire class and they were ALL asians. And I was like... wait where are the white ones!? So it IS true. I've always thought the pacific islanders are a minority. I'm not surprised with Indians and Pakistanis flooding NZ. They're like everywhere! Fun fact: Pakistan used to be a part of India.

haa durian ohh is that , that horrible smelling tasting fruit? I love tropical fruit, yeh asians theres loads here they mainly come to study english and dont stay That cracked me up wheres the white ones! Nz is increasingly multiculture Auckland is a melting pot of ppl but theres quite a few pacific islanders more in Auckland than in Samoa true fact. Auckland is really multi cultural theres lots of white people there but theres lots of Maori and others there too. we have a problem with alot of elderly Chinese coming to NZ but not speaking a word of English . In the South like Christchurch where I use to live thats where the loads of white ppl are ahha

Haha! Yeah almost everyone I know hates Durian. The thing about it is, if you hate the smell, you won't like the taste. The first time I smelled it... it smelled like... fruit! I thought it smelled okay so I dived in and, boy, it's mouth watering xD It's just very high in cholesterol lol. My mom likes it too. My siblings hate it.

Woah! I thought Samoa was THE pacific island. lol. That's really interesting. Yeah that's a big problem with the elderly Chinese. Reminds me, I once visited an elderly home here and none of them spoke English. I met this old man, with only one arm left. He was very very cheerful (I had no idea what he was saying) and sounded really lively. I couldn't speak to him though. We were delivering goods and gifts and I think he was thanking us. He was very tearful, I fought so hard to contain myself and not hug him. He was living alone as was most of the people there. I imagine their lives are too lonely, especially if they can't communicate and keep up with the ever changing cultures. :(

NZ is known to my fellows as a great place for migration when older. Maybe because of its known calm environment?

I have no idea but the biggest bird thats extinct now was the Moa they were tall
Yay! The giant moa is my favourite extinct bird. I wish it still existed. When I was younger I wanted to go on an expedition to the Craigburn Ranges to look for the bird (this was back in the early 90s when there was a sighting).

Yes. A group believed they saw a giant moa on their travels. That was back in January 20, 1993. In the Craigieburn Ranges, not the Craigburn Ranges. Ooops.

but Americans are welcome here too but please A.P free zone here
Specifically a thread that doesnt derail onto american politics
or talking about stuff pertaining to only to USA or Georgia (a joke from another forum basically we werent from georgia bit the OP wanted specifically to talk to georgia ppl) or the particular stuff Im suppose to know about your State which I have no idea

Really aimed at us on the other side of the world/ outside of U.S with all respect
MAke a cup of tea and talk about your country

Who knows if your from the U.S you might learn several new things about our countries here

So Im gonna start ... I saw this cycle race thing in finland on sky (NZ cable tv) and the countryside kinda looks like country towns in Britain ,
some of the houses ,architecture , trees but im prob wrong but just what I observed ... maybe a little?

NZ flag debate thats New Zealand
Weve got the old flag again have they spent the 26 million?- thats a waste of money
You do know when I saw the title of your post, I thought Russia tried to take over Georgia again, right?
