I hate that god gave me beauty because it has given me the wrong decisions in life and even made me sin.. I sometimes wish I was a regular looking person or a person most men dont give attention to i know this is a stupid post or whatever but its a random thought ... Im grateful for it but the same time I don't enjoy it that much .. I dont mean to sound conceited or anything
Something that can happen, when women get a really negative experience with someone based on their looks, they can associate that experience with beauty and the idea becomes tainted. They can become ashamed of it in various ways. If no one ever treated you differently, how would you feel about your looks? Maybe if you have internalized someone's 'dirty' way of seeing your looks, or you see it as dirty because of guilt, you could ask the Holy Spirit to cleanse you of that and forgive yourself or the other person. Or it may even go deeper into an identity issue you might have inherited from childhood.
Also there is advice here about downplaying your looks and not being competitive with other women or getting attention from men that way, even if society tells you you have to in order to have status.
I think when someone looks good, they become a symbol to others who look at what that person symbolize to them, and love that, but that is not the real person or the whole person they are looking at and loving, and it creates many issues in relating to people. If you're pretty or have some other desirable quality, people see what they want to see in you and don't necessarily look with the heart.
As for normal looking people, yes we all have temptations, wrong decisions, struggles, regardless of how we look. A 'normal' woman might be preoccupied with other people's looks because 'the grass is always greener on the other side' while a prettier woman might think it's so difficult to have too much low quality attention -- but then if she could look normal she might still have just as much trouble finding quality attention. It's true that some people face more pressure than others though.
