In this language you have jumped from who you are as an individual, to who Jesus is, and that becoming real for you.
This is mysticism. The language is saying there is no difference between Jesus's imputed righteousness and our failure, so we become righteous, ie the failure is ignored and its consequences without repentance, or healing or choice.

You then say this righteousness which is now your own behaviour works its way to our outside.
Well ofcourse if you actually become something different, then it is shown in your behaviour.

***"This is because they are in works and don't yet realize it. They still think they owe God something other than praise and the obedience of faith."***

I have been bought, I have nothing, I do not owe God, I am owned by God. There is nothing He does not deserve from me, and I will strive to follow Him in whatever way I can.

You do not understand where I am or how this life thing works. I am neither a robot, possessed, or somehow mystically made different. I have simply been redeemed, a new creation in christ, and I bow before my King. The fact you continually make me into something I am not, have not said or claimed worries me. For whatever reason my experience of Christ you cannot accept. I accept you have had a real spiritual encounter with the Lord, yet I am being more gracious to you, than you are to me.

To say I do not experience the living waters of life welling up within me, hurts me, because it denies the reality I rejoice in every day. Why do you want to discourage me and condemn me so badly, when I want you all to know His love and grace in your hearts, to know the victory He won on the cross and the everlasting life he brings to our souls.

Hallelujah and Praise to the King of Kings, because the Lamb who was slain is counted worthy to open the seals.

I also accept that you have had a real encounter with our Lord!
I want everyone to walk in the freedom He has purchased for them.
I met Him too, but I did not fully understand for a long time just how free I could be and just how merciful He was.
I worried about my performance instead of just trusting Him to make me into what He said He would make me into.
I went for so many years in that state, striving hard to be good, feeling that I owed Him that for the gratitude I had for Him letting me meet Him.

I started in faith but somewhere along the line I became a foolish Galatian.
He NEVER abandoned me in that. He stayed with me just as He promised He would.
He did not stop loving me even though He desired so much for me to be free of the way I had yoked myself all over again.

I am not trying to discourage you Peter. You are my brother and I love you. I have cried tears for you before our Lord, Peter. I am trying to help you not to be yoked for so many years as I was. I don't question that you are my dear brother. We had many conversations a few months ago and I SAW that you were my brother and I KNOW that you too saw that I was your sister.

I am not trying to discourage you. My heart breaks to see you not yet fully aware of His work for you. I know you have met Him, Peter.

Allegedly is the operative word. He is doing what all self-proclaimed heretic hunters do :..create suspicion to discredit something else that a person is actually saying. Heretic hunters have the habit of "twisting" some one's words to make them say something other then the intended use of them as we have seen done in this thread.

Even "IF" he did think that 20 years ago - which one of us has not changed our beliefs about the grace of God when the Holy Spirit gives us repentance to see the beauty of our Lord's completed work?...I would dare say none of us in the body of Christ has always known all things and will not ever know all things in it's fullness.

We will be learning and marveling at the beauty and grace of Christ towards us for all of eternity! Our Father can't wait to show us His grace in kindness.

Ephesians 2:7 (NASB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Our good, loving Father is awesome as is our salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ!

No. I say, "allegedly" because I don't want to be sued.
His denomination believes:

A third and very important issue is the Church of Christ’s emphasis on baptism as being necessary for salvation. Church of Christ advocates point to Scriptures such as Acts 2:38, John 3:5, Mark 16:16, 1 Peter 3:21, and Acts 22:16 as biblical evidence that baptism is required for salvation. There is no denying that baptism is very important. Baptism is intended to be an initial act of obedience to Christ, an illustration of Christ’s death and resurrection, a public declaration of faith in Christ, a step of identification with Him, and a proclamation of desire to follow Him. In the minds of the apostles and early Christians, baptism was so inextricably linked with salvation that the two were viewed as inseparable. The idea that a person could receive Christ as Savior and not be baptized was completely foreign to the early church.

Is the Church of Christ a good biblical church?

What can you Confess? The only thing you can confess Is Christ and Him Crucified what else is there?

The fact that legalists are so self-centered they can't see God's great grace before them. It's sad. What's even more sad is that they try so hard to preach salvation yet they themselves don't believe they are saved, or some say "not yet". If you're going to preach about something at least know that you have it before sharing it. Peace.

Jesus never stayed on the cross..He rose again for our justification and is seated on the right hand of the Father. We rose with Christ too and we are seated with Him at the right hand of the Father. We can confess our death on the cross with Him and we can confess our new life in Him too.

Romans 6:5-6 (NASB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection,
[SUP]6 [/SUP] knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;

Ephesians 2:4-7 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
[SUP]5 [/SUP] even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved
),
[SUP]6 [/SUP] and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

God gave to me something while I slept. Here it is.

To walk in perfection in doctrine and to demand such perfection of everyone else and to show no mercy where they fall short of it (in our estimation) - this is not what our Lord calls us to.
To chase everyone down and demand an outer walk of theological perfection, not ever lifting a single cruel finger or showing mercy or grace is the demanding perfection of a pharisee.
When they convert others to this, we see the past repeat.
Our Lord has not called us to this.

That is what He gave me while I slept.

Is this the way Peter is, or the way that you perceive him?

Great post. Jesus is our righteousness and our saviour! Peace.

Amen! When they come accusing you brother, just let the blood of Jesus be your defense!

"And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and
washed us from our sins in his own blood" Rev 1:5

Oh absolutely. I know what you're going to say. I'm not afraid of anyone here or what they have to say.

Okay then, here it is honestly, what I think, since you want me to be honest.
It more describes you than it describes Peter is what I think.
I see Peters heart for our Lord.
And I see his heart begin to soften towards us because of his desire to move toward love and mercy and grace.
And when this softening of his heart longs toward walking in love with us and not demanding perfection of any one of us but believing God will accomplish His teaching in every one of us by the Holy Spirit He has given us, you come and shore him up, approving of his demand for perfect doctrine over love and mercy and grace. You encourage him the wrong way and lead him away from love and forgiveness.
So that is what I honestly think of Peter and where he is being led by the Spirit and what I think hinders him.

This verse below can affect all of us, so we need to be careful to stay in grace with people and at peace with them as much as possible - even if it means to avoid them for a while until the Lord deals with all of us.

Hebrews 12:15 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

See that no one comes short of the grace of God...
How do we come short of the grace of God?

If we aren't perfect in systematic theology, do we come short of the grace of God?
How would that be possible since our minds, thoughts and emotions are constantly being renewed...?

How does one come short of the grace of God?
