Richard, what's the matter? People have willingly abandoned their own purposes, some even to death, for the sake of Christ Jesus. Don't let petty disagreements with other people be such a snare to you. Seriously, there's no private interpretation of God's Word that would result in such disharmony. You and I and everyone here are missing out on the fruit of the spirit by engaging in such foolish, useless squabbles. I'm saying "we", not any one particular person.

My friend, Jim Minker just wrote yesterday:
In Christ, we have been set free from the bondage of the mind that is ever seeking but never finding, the mind that thrives on the thrill of discovering what others don’t know. In Christ, we have not been delivered into a new hierarchy with the better levels kept hidden from others; rather, in Him, we have all been set free so that we might know that which is hidden from the mind that despises such equality.

Truthfully, if we can't continue a peaceful conversation in here, we should all just opt out of this thread. Doesn't that make sense? The worst thing for the lost world to see is bickering Christians who can't even have a simple discussion. May Jesus Christ be glorified in our surrendering our useless argument to Him. Ya know?
I could not agree more. I do not like to be picked and prodded at though. If people continue to make irrational judgement upon myself here or anywhere, they will have their just deserts.

If Im not mistaken the question for this thread is: "what does the bible say about homosexuality?" the question is do people want that answer, or do they wish to justify this particular type of bondage in some way? it is bondage as is all sin and our Savor freed us from it, anyone who chooses to can read the scriptures describing those persons who wish to become entangled in it again, 1 john 3:4 clearly defines what sin is... its mankind that seems to magnify one above the other.
The Bottom line is that we as believers should hate what He hates and love what He loves... He didn't set His order of things for us to do as we please and upset that order without serious results... He loves us all but will not be mocked, now either we stand with Him or against Him. We fight not against flesh and blood so please lets get this straight and stop fight one another, the enemy of our souls laughs us to scorn when we do so, and more importantly we bring reproach upon His character as His representative on this earth, keep it simple walk with Him (prov.3:5-6) and rather then pointing to others sin, work instead to cooperate in setting the captives free, his will is restoration for all of us...

How much of a clearer question could have there been?

here's another clear question :)

Men committed shameful acts with other men,
and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

(Romans 1:27)

how much more penalty do we feel like we need to add, or do we accept that judgment belongs to God?

while we were all deserving death, the Lord blessed us, and did not curse -- we should likewise therefore bless, and not curse.

Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing.
My brothers and sisters, this should not be.

(James 3:10)

Do YOU condone homosexuality or are you against it.... Answer the question with thought and not your "research".

i thought Dude made a pretty insightful observation the other day; what do you think Richard1976 ?

Many Christians feel like you have to go on a homosexual Witch Hunt in order to prove how Christian you are.

5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.
6 Do ye thus requite the Lord, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?
7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.
8 When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.
9 For the Lord's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

Daniel 9:27

"And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate."

YOU always skirt around the question in attempts of self-preservation. What is your faith by the way?

Actually I don't care. I thought the thread was about homosexuality but it's been off topic for pages since you were bothered by the cats. Can we go back to normal now?
There is not one person here who has said that the Bible doesn't say it's sin. There isn't much to discuss about the texts, well unless someone twists them, but noone does that here. Those kind of discussions you can find on Dutch fora where homosexuals are allowed to speak and say what they want. Michael Brown had a great decent debate about that with a guy who teaches that the Bible doesn't say it's sin.
