Well, it's okay to go and watch, but don't participate. It's just not worth it. By and large, the threads are intentionally controversial and they are populated for the most part by men, which I can tell you as a man, are the gender with the most fragile ego, hence why they are so brash and argumentative.
I look at the BDF like watching a nature show. Even though I know the gazelle is going to get ate, I still watch the lions stalk and strike. I just like to do it from the safety of my living room. There is more than plenty other stuff on the forums to participate in rather than the BDF which just causes conflict.

as far as trolls here, they are just good practice at repaying good for evil, or as JD referenced, not feeding pearls to pigs (it's in the bible, along with the part about vipers)
