Sanders disagrees with many conservatives but I hardly think he is "brutal" towards them. His supporters, perhaps, there are bad apples in every bunch. But if Sanders disagreeing by highlighting his difference in ideology with Trump and conservatives is "brutal" by your standards, I wonder what word you'd use to describe Trump attacking people in his own party as well as the Democrats.

I don't think Sanders is afraid of Hillary at all. I think he is campaigning honorably even if he would be more effect attacking her. He wants to win not by making better one-line attacks/sound bites, but rather on what he stands for and against. To his demise, he is running his campaign this way.

I don't mean to play word games at all. I just see it differently than you. Hillary certainly feels attacked by the Sanders camp when all he is doing is highlighting the differences between he and her political ideologies and stating historical facts. I don't think that's attacking, so I agree with you and disagree with Hillary, but I respect Bernie's decision to run an honorable campaign where he "attacks" on substantive issues and not personal issues irrelevant to politics (see Trump posting Ted's wife for example).

Clinton has been promoting the idea that he's "about to go negative!" in NY, trying desperately to get people not to like him. her campaign is making false accusations like this, and like saying he agrees with Trump's sexist remarks, lying about his voting record, or claiming that he's singling her out over taking superpac money when he's been vocally against all superpacs practically since they were invented, while at the same time basically plagiarizing his stump speeches because he's actually not like 'every other politician.'

what a big smack in the face to everyone who voted in a republican primary that would be
maybe they finally noticed how badly Trump & Cruz both lose in head-to-head polling vs Clinton, and how much worse vs Sanders.

i only just (and just now) read the OP, so, late as usual.

i have to say after watching many of the debates, Sanders is just... well, like-able.

i didn't expect to like him, but to my consternation (), i do.
the only other candidate i didn't see behaving childishly at some point was Kasich.
(i didn't see everything...just going by what i did see. )

What's interesting is that I have family that will be/are voting for Trump (unfortunately), but they would switch to Sanders if the Republican convention screws Trump out of the nomination. On one hand I think it's unfair to Trump (even if I dislike him) but on the other, it would gain more support for Sanders. The irony, I don't think Sanders wants to win that way (by the Republicans screwing Trump and taking some of his votes).

Hillary is a criminal and needs to be brought to justice ...Bernie is helping to cover for her and wont even mention her crimes because he is a coward.

i think you just want him to be "like every other politician" so it'll be easier to dismiss him. if he was attacking her, you'd be in here in this NICE! Sanders thread posting about how he's just running a smear campaign against one of the most unpopular politicians in the country, so of course he's got momentum; anyone could do that.
but he's not. and he still has a lot of momentum. what's up with that?

We're both on a news forum talking about politics. I figured you enjoyed discussion about it. I just wanted to hear your argument and be open-minded to a counter opinion.

When someone makes statements that I find especially untrue, I don't want to personally insult them or be condescending towards them... I just want to hear where they are coming from so I can understand their point of view better. At worst, I come away understanding the differing opinion but still disagree. At best, you could win me over in the discussion.
