Paul didn't stutter and he wasn't confused. 1 Cor 15 is clear. There are 2 resurrections of believers. Christ back in AD 27-33 then everyone else at HIS coming, which by the way is after the GT as He Himself tells us.
I don't know if you realize this or not but Christians are being beheaded right now in the Middle east. But, this is not the GT as the GT begins with the Abomination of Desolation and the attack on Israel. The GT applies only to Israel and is NOT the Wrath of God which comes later. What's happening now is "tribulation" *small t*.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.
The Church is under attack everywhere. In many places our brothers and sisters are being slaughtered. Is there a nation now which embraces Christians and our values? Not even in the United States. We are still in the "Beginnings of Sorrows", small "t' tribulation. Christians are appointed for tribulation, we are not appointed to God's wrath. This is a distinction lost on you.
Christians in Syria, Iraq, Egypt etc that we've seen beheaded are mentioned here. Can it get any worse for them than it is now?
Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands.
These did not worship/serve the beast (Ottoman Empire 1299-1922) where 50 million Christians were killed or it's copy (image), the mortal wound having been healed, now.
The first resurrection spoken of by John in Rev 20 deals with the righteous who will not face the second death. The second resurrection is for the condemned who do face the second (spiritual) death which they receive at judgment.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power...
Two resurrections:
Dan 12: [SUP]2 [/SUP]And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Rev 20: [SUP]14 [/SUP]Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [SUP]15 [/SUP]And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
Rev 6: And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.
