... and song(s) in the musical? I have not seen that many, but do remember some. Esp. the newer ones, whether local or from other countries, do let us know what are worth watching. I thought to make a poll, and to put this in the CMF, then realized it isnt all Christian music and i have to figure out how to make a poll... so here.

My all-time favorite musical is Carousel. But I love many others: Oklahoma, The King & I, My Fair Lady, Show Boat.

West Side Story, closely followed by South Pacific. Both have great songs.

Now making me nostalgic...! I am remembering some movie musicals and people right now: Gene Kelly ‘singin’ in the rain,’ Stephen Sondheim’s witty lyrics in the West side story, Julie Andrews who weds the chilly father of the von Trapp kids, and not just Oliver! himself but the artful Dodger and Fagin.

I think West side story was the 2nd musical I saw (after the hills are alive in The sound of music, and while I didn't Show boat, learned of the songs in school glee club.

Jesus Christ Superstar. (Okay, technically an opera, not a musical.) It's the opera I went to see that God used to bring me. And my favorite song from it is as significant today as it was then.

"I could have danced all night" from My Fair Lady.... is the tune currently going thru my mind right now. I didnt get to see many musicals until much later, but family was fond of singing hollywood and broadway songs, and we had music sheets of these songs. So learned the songs long before i even watched any.

I don't really care for musicals but The Blues Brothers is pretty good (although it does have some strong language).

Most of those i have seen were not live at all. A student production i saw was of Into the Woods.
