What does judging someone look like for you? It is a word that really carries with it a harsh connotation....and rightfully so because it has a close relative called rejection. Both of those things carry a lot of weight when they are leveled at someone.....esp in someone who has a mountain of emotional pain from judgement and rejection already.
Judging righteously is not "looking down on others". It is merely calling sin what it is> SIN. Here again, we must always refer to scripture to form our opinions ie renewing our minds with the TRUTH. Besides, it seems that Mitspa is being judged for judging! lol

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts; and then each one's praise will come from God" (1 Corinthians 4:3-5).
We may not take God's place in judgment: "Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?" (James 4:11,12).
We may not condemn the guiltless by neglecting mercy: "But if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless" (Matthew 12:7).
There is a place for righteous judgment. When Christians persist in sin, they are to be judged by their fellow Christians, as Paul explained to the Corinthians: "I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. Yet I certainly did not mean the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner -- not even to eat with such a person. For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Did I mention YOUR name? NOPE. Wasn't even referring to you, btw.. You call anyone who disagrees with your views, bigots, haters and racists. You have a special hatred for gay people. IMO you only started this thread to once again condemn gays and bash them for their lifestyle. Guess what, they are sinners!! And so are you, so am I, so is everyone here.

Like I said, too many people in the world judge others hypocritically. Happens every single day here on this site and out in the real world. If more people could say "you know, you should stop doing this sin because Jesus says it's a sin", instead of "you need to stop sinning because you're going to hell for being a druggie". People think along the lines of "well this guy is telling me not to sin but he's sinning too, so I'll keep sinning". Many don't realize/care about the consequences of their sin.

Hey, who can argue with Jesus—right? The verse often is taken to mean nobody has the right to judge anybody for anything at any time.
The problem? The verse has a context. Jesus told us what He meant.
When Jesus spoke these words on the slopes surrounding the Sea of Galilee, He wasn’t saying never to judge. He simply warned about doing it the wrong way—by telling us how to make judgments the right way.
And believe me, it ain’t easy.

Many people use this verse in an attempt to silence their critics, interpreting Jesus’ meaning as “You don’t have the right to tell me I’m wrong.” Taken in isolation, Jesus’ command “Do not judge” does indeed seem to preclude all negative assessments. However, there is much more to the passage than those three words.
The Bible’s command that we not judge others does not mean we cannot show discernment. Immediately after Jesus says, “Do not judge,” He says, “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs” (Matthew 7:6). A little later in the same sermon, He says, “Watch out for false prophets. . . . By their fruit you will recognize them” (verses 15–16). How are we to discern who are the “dogs” and “pigs” and “false prophets” unless we have the ability to make a judgment call on doctrines and deeds? Jesus is giving us permission to tell right from wrong.
Also, the Bible’s command that we not judge others does not mean all actions are equally moral or that truth is relative. The Bible clearly teaches that truth is objective, eternal, and inseparable from God’s character. Anything that contradicts the truth is a lie—but, of course, to call something a “lie” is to pass judgment. To call adultery or murder a sin is likewise to pass judgment—but it’s also to agree with God. When Jesus said not to judge others, He did not mean that no one can identify sin for what it is, based on God’s definition ofsin.
And the Bible’s command that we not judge others does not mean there should be no mechanism for dealing with sin. The Bible has a whole book entitled*Judges. The judges in the Old Testament were raised up by God Himself (Judges 2:18). The modern judicial system, including its judges, is a necessary part of society. In saying, “Do not judge,” Jesus was not saying, “Anything goes.”
Elsewhere, Jesus gives a direct command to judge: “Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly” (John 7:24). Here we have a clue as to the right type of judgment versus the wrong type. Taking this verse and some others, we can put together a description of the sinful type of judgment:
Superficial*judgment is wrong. Passing judgment on someone based solely on appearances is sinful (John 7:24). It is foolish to jump to conclusions before investigating the facts (Proverbs 18:13). Simon the Pharisee passed judgment on a woman based on her appearance and reputation, but he could not see that the woman had been forgiven; Simon thus drew Jesus’ rebuke for his unrighteous judgment (Luke 7:36–50).
Hypocritical*judgment is wrong. Jesus’ command not to judge others in*Matthew 7:1*is preceded by comparisons to hypocrites (Matthew 6:2,*5,*16) and followed by a warning against hypocrisy (Matthew 7:3–5). When we point out the sin of others while we ourselves commit the same sin, we condemn ourselves (Romans 2:1).
Harsh, unforgiving*judgment is wrong. We are “always to be gentle toward everyone” (Titus 3:2). It is the merciful who will be shown mercy (Matthew 5:7), and, as Jesus warned, “In the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you” (Matthew 7:2).
Self-righteous*judgment is wrong. We are called to humility, and “God opposes the proud” (James 4:6). The Pharisee in Jesus’parable of the Pharisee and the tax collectorwas confident in his own righteousness and from that proud position judged the publican; however, God sees the heart and refused to forgive the Pharisee’s sin (Luke 18:9–14).
Untrue*judgment is wrong. The Bible clearly forbids bearing false witness (Proverbs 19:5). “Slander no one” (Titus 3:2).
Christians are often accused of “judging” or intolerance when they speak out against sin. But opposing sin is not wrong. Holding aloft the standard of righteousness naturally defines unrighteousness and draws the slings and arrows of those who choose sin over godliness.*John the Baptist*incurred the ire of Herodias when he spoke out against her adultery with Herod (Mark 6:18–19). She eventually silenced John, but she could not silence the truth (Isaiah 40:8).
Believers are warned against judging others unfairly or unrighteously, but Jesus commends “right judgment” (John 7:24, ESV). We are to be discerning (Colossians 1:9;*1 Thessalonians 5:21). We are to preach the whole counsel of God, including the Bible’s teaching on sin (Acts 20:27;*2 Timothy 4:2). We are to gently confront erring brothers or sisters in Christ (Galatians 6:1). We are to practice church discipline (Matthew 18:15–17). We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).

Why didn't they cast any stones? Jesus knew why. And they KNEW Jesus knew why. And they all walked away, fearing Jesus was going to expose them as they exposed that woman.
When Jesus spoke that statement, he got them to turn from looking upon the woman, and to look only upon him. He got them to consider who HE was, that he could read the intents of their hearts.
Jesus saw the real reason WHY they were judging the woman so harshly. They could not believe God's love is so mighty and unfailing, it can give a person a brand new heart and conform them day by day into his image. It is a gift of God. Grace.
As long as we judge everything by what we see and not by faith, we are walking like blind men.

But that doesn't have to be judging. One guy on another forum, lol he wasn't very popular, posted those texts that you can't come back if you fall for that sin again. Everybody mad, but I was just about to date a guy again who wanted sex before marriage and God warned me too, I saw us both falling in hell if I'd go to him, so the guy warned me and thanks to him and another guy who said the same I got out of it and John Kilpatrick: get out now in the Name of Jesus!
It's just the way they say it. That one guy had been a porn addict for 38 years while he was a christian and God set him free. He had so much compassion and was not judgemental, he was the only one I asked for help.

So you can judge the heart of others ..while you protest they don't have the right to judge....who are you to decide what is hate? Do you understand the terms you use in a real biblical way...because the bible teaches if you don't warn the sinner ...you HATE them.

So if you are a hypocrite..can you judge when someone is being a hypocrite ? Your still judging and the whole idea that God tells believers not to judge as righteous spiritual believers is just unbiblical and shows a ignorance of the epistles to the church.

Jesus was showing that man through the law of righteousness ..written code ..had no power to judge righteously ...but then we have the rest of the New Testament and teachings of righteous judgment ...its like no one on this forum has ever read the epistles to the church that deal directly with these issues...

I can't judge hearts, I don't judge you, but sometimes it's obvious from what someone writes or says that they're full of unforgiveness and hate. I don't judge them for that, but gently try to show them, since indeed you should warn them and pray for them. That's christians. A guy somewhere who doesn't know Jesus and hates people, what use is it to tell him he shouldn't hate? He needs to get to know the Lord, so He can take the hate away.

Why do you want me to answer to you? so you can judge? Do you folks that cry "don't judge" understand you are always trying to judge others ...when the scriptures make clear we are supposed to judge other believers according to the law of the Spirit of life in Christ. WE ARE supposed to warn other Christians who walk in the lust of the flesh...that's not even debatable if you read the epistles

When my kids were young, I always chuckled when their arguments escalated with them shouting at each other, "STOP JUDGING, YOU JUDGER!" "No, YOU stop judging, you judger!"
I laughed because it was so ridiculous. And I'd help them to resolve their conflicts by finding out the real reason why they were mad at each other. It was usually because they each felt some unfairness and I'd help them to reason out how they could work it out that it was fair enough for both of them.
