Not everyone needs to be confronted with fire and brimestone in order to get them to repent. That's where prayer, discernment and being led of the Holy Spirit comes in. For it is not about I did this, or I did that it is about Christ and Him crucified. God is to get ALL Glory. God doesn't force Himself on anyone neither should we shove Him down anyones throat.
John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:

1 Peter 4:8
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

Charity- benevolent goodwill toward or love of humanity

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
1 Corinthians 13:4-7King James Version (KJV)

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

If we all reviewed our posts on here are we showing Charity (love).

Proverbs 16:18
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Haughty-
having or showing the insulting attitude of people who think that they are better, smarter, or more important than other people.

Edited to add: I just realized that while this post was being made that Magenta had posted the same verse. :)
Jesus mirrored the tone he received when he spread his message. He was gentle with those that were humble and he was tough with those who were revelers and full of mockery.

I wonder when basic biblical doctrine on holiness among believers became classified as negative in any way.. it should be just part of our basic conversation...the fact that it offends anyone on this forum shows the influence of the world has hold of many here on this forum.

So what's the Greek version of John 2:15 read?

Someone would have to know Jesus to know that He dealt with those in pride very different than those who came to him in humility.. God resist the proud but gives grace to the humble...the folks that reject the holiness required for believrs are clearly in pride.

Ooopfh! That's a gruesome image.
Beloved BrotherJustin, Paul said, "For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified." Yes, to look upon the death at the cross is gruesome. But BEYOND that, what God did in giving us His Son is make us spiritual beings in Him. If we look at others in the flesh, it is gruesome. But when we look at each other BEYOND that, in the glorified Spirit of Jesus Christ, we can see they are also in the spiritual image of Christ.

Don't have my Greek with me..I look later
I found a neat parallel when digging into this verse:

2 “But who can endure the day of His coming?
And who can stand when He appears?
For He is like a refiner’s fire
And like launderers’ soap.
3 He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver;
He will purify the sons of Levi,
And purge them as gold and silver,
That they may offer to the Lord
An offering in righteousness.

(Malachi 3:1-4) -- I used NKJV ... figured it's a fair compromise for us. :cool:

I John 4:1-8

Beloved brothers and sisters, don't believe every spirit [on this thread], but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets are out there in the world. This is how you can know the Spirit of God: every spirit that is a living witness of Jesus Christ in their behavior and attitude is from God; and every spirit who's attitude and behavior doesn't reflect Jesus is walking in the spirit of the antichrist, which is now very active in this world.

You are from God, brothers & sisters, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. It is obvious who is behaving like the world; you can plainly read it in their attitude, they're speaking just like the world, and the other ones walking in the flesh are agreeing with them. We are from God; he who is intimate with God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Thats fine. Man thinks what is right in his own mind doesnt he? I stand on the bible. ALL OF IT
Just don't look down from way up there. You might get dizzy a fall on your diamond-maker. ;)

Look, just so everybody knows...I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ...He's my God and Savior, and I get what is being said here, and I do take tge bible seriously, it's the True Word of God, and yes, I prefer the kjv.
I'm also trying to add a bit of levity, which I do sometimes, so please don't be insulted or think I'm trying to derail. It's just my way sometimes and I hope everyone can have a bit of a laff in the midst of some heavy stuff, it don't mean I don't love you, because I do!

Now.....give us a little kiss and carry on, will ya big fella? ;)
