actually both lord and spirit are genitive so literally it's 'of Lord of spirit.
Corinthians 3:18 - 18 But we all, looking on the glory of the Lord, with unveiled face, are transformed , translated ‘transfigured’ in Matthew 17:2 and Mark 9:2. according to the same image from glory to glory, even as by [the] Lord [the] Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:18 - ημεις δε παντες ανακεκαλυμμενω προσωπω την δοξαν κυριου κατοπτριζομενοι την αυτην εικονα μεταμορφουμεθα απο δοξης εις δοξαν καθαπες απο κυριου πνευματος .

apo mean off so it literally reads 'off of Lord of spirit.'I think i'm getting the real meaning now. with unveiled faces (faces with self left out of it) we reflect the glory of the Lord off of Lord of spirit. angels are spirits of the Lord, so they would be included in this equation.

I think if I had been a stronger christian God wouldn't have had to give me angel friends to help me. But on the other hand perhaps I should glory in that weakness because it resulted in God giving me angel friends to help.

2 for. 12.9

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

I agree praising God brings joy and happiness that nothing else can compare to. But Jesus is in heaven. In John 16:7 Jesus said that He had to go or else the Holy Spirit or in some texts the Comforter would not come. Of course, He also lives in your heart if He is your Lord and Savior. So Jesus is in heaven or your heart but He doesn't come and take the place of an angel.

I just wonder if you have studied the Greek enough to understand how its translated into English ? the "Spirit of the Lord" is a very common Term used in the Old and New Testaments ...and the Greek does not follow the English order in placing words ...clearly the intention of the passage is "the Spirit of the Lord" do you have any Greek scholars that share your new translation?

you are resorting to a very common logical fallacy called 'appeal to authority".

most bibles don't translate it as you do "the spirit of the Lord" so how should one determine which is the correct translation when there are like 50 different translations of that ending in this case? which authority should we appeal to? are all the greek language helps that are available to laymen to be thrown in the garbage and we just believe whomever we decide is an authority to appeal to? Should we throw away lexicons and let only professors read them, should we throw away interlinears, grammar tags commentaries, the bible and just believe authority?

I think you're right in that there can be a logical fallacy to the "appeal of authority", but only when the authority is cited on a topic outside their expertise. In the case of this biblical study, I usually accept the authority tested by time and debate rather than the authority professing spiritual guidance. This isn't to say spiritual guidance is unworthy or untruthful; only that I would probably question the professor more than the professed.

an interlinear, or lexicon, or grammar tag, or bible dictionary has just as much expertise as any bible translation does. which authority should one believe, when a grammar tag says the word is in the genitive case, and the bible translation translates it in the nominative case?

I am not the only one that verifies translations using various layman helps such as interlinears, bible dictionaries, grammar tags, commentaries, etc. This practice is widespread in christianity. Just accepting a translation cause it's in print, isn't very wise.

I've seen humans turn into Jesus as well, when they reflect the glory of the Lord.

Have you asked them if they confess Jesus Christ came in the flesh yet?
I've never seen a kissing dancing female angel in the Bible. People fell like dead when one came to visit and they were never female.

Zechariah 5:9 - Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there came forth two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork; and they lifted up the measure between the earth and the heaven. (JPS)

angels are spirits and have no sex. But they can manifest as either male or female. Even if only male manifestations of angels is mentioned in the bible that doesn't mean that angels are male or that they can't manifest as females. It would only mean that God only recorded angels manifesting as males. Joan of arc had two female angels manifest to her. Although she called them saint margaret and some other catholic saint. but that was because of her false teaching. Angels kiss me a lot, so i being a male, have female angels kissing me.

ok just for you I asked Sonja if she would confess that Jesus is come in the flesh and she did.

See, what I think happened with Joan of arc is this. two angels manifested as saint margaret , and some other catholic female saint because it would be comfortable for Joan to accept that. i of course don't know the particulars. Also, zech. 5.9 calls the two angels women, just like Joan of Arc did. Something to consider.
