gotta have some comedic relief...just enough truth in that one...LOL!
Here's another one...ask your hubby this question...

"If he is out there in the woods miles from civilization with his buddies and his wife is not there...and he makes a statement ...is he still wrong?"

Of course this is a setup for him and we all know what his answer should be ( if he wants to live ) ...LOL..just my attempt at comedic relief too..

I never think it's a good thing to call someone a liar and we should be letting people say what they believe without getting blasted. It's ok to disagree on things too. If someone believes something that is not the gospel - then they are entitled to that belief too. That doesn't make them a liar - just that they don't understand the gospel of the grace of Christ well enough yet.

But calling people liars is so edifying.

Oh wait, no its not.

Always love what you bring to the table, my Brother.

Thank you for your kind remarks..brother

That is not to say there are no liars..as we know there are..the devil is a liar......people that say things that are not true are lying...but do we need to actually point out a specific person and say you are a liar? That's not who they are in their inner man that is in Christ. Their true identity is in Christ - bought with the blood of Jesus.

So, there are people that lie..even us Christians but it's not who we are.

I know it does feel good in the flesh to call them liars though....I'd be lying if I said it wasn't.....LOL

I'm a little tired of the false accusations. I know how to deal with abusive people. I'm a bully's worst nightmare.

So, if someone is doing this type of behavior and died - would they go to heaven because this kind of behavior is walking ( living in) according to the flesh for sure.

What if someone was like that all their lives but stayed away from all the "biggie sins"....like
not doing adultery, fornication , etc...would the "doing the will" of God in not doing the biggie sins negate what they have been doing all their lives by living in the flesh in the other matters? Of course not. That is the epitome of being in self-righteousness.

If salvation is based on our behavior and not on what Christ has done - I would say the above person would be in deep trouble.

They need to hear the gospel of the grace of Christ!

Right. Which is why Jesus reserved his harshest words for the mostly hidden sins of hypocrisy, pride, greed and legalism.

'blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil things against you because of me, Rejoics and be glad because Great is your reward in Heaven".....if following Jesus message brings insults and resistance, it is a blessing. I appreciate you my friend.

its Like 90 percent of the folk here have never even read the gospel. the great commission "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. THEREFORE GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER SON AND HOLY SPIRIT ANT TEACHING THEM TO OBEY EVERYTHING I HAVE COMMANDED YOU.....and surely I am with you till the end of the age."

it occurred to me last night in prayer, that anyone with the spirit of Christ, will obey Jesus. His spirit will always agree with His words. if the message " go learn the gospels, jesus teachings and do them offends someone, they are not of Christ and I have no yoke or responsibility to them. rejectiong the gospel ( matthew mark luke and john) is rejecting Gods Word. I understand the destructive herecies. One thing should be very clear to a Christian. Jesus is Lord, Gods Word exalts Him above everyone. Therefore, HIS WORDS are exalted above everyone. ive known a long time that truth always gets far more resistance than lies.

what does it say when all men speak well of you??? or when all men speak poorly of a person who teaches Christ? Just some boggling ideas that Christians aren't bound to Jesus words. the only words that matter to A Christian. everythoing else in the word, is pointing to the 4 gospels and obedience to the One Gospel contained in them = Jesus, obedience to the Lord

Amen...and this is one of the main reasons why the gospel of the grace of Christ alone for salvation is offensive and it is a stumbling block to the D.I.Y self-righteousness/holiness mindsets. Grace is offensive to those that "work" for their salvation whether it's to get it or to "maintain" it.

I thought the discussion was going pretty well until a couple of folks jumped in out of the blue and started dredging up things that (supposedly) HRFTD said "in other posts"...

That is totally uncalled for. Just like the wife (or husband ) that cannot have an argument with their spouse without bringing up things that were said months or years ago.

How about we treat each thread/discussion as its own entity, without trying to re-light old fires. It appears that some folks here simply WANT to fight, and throw stones.

Makes it impossible to move forward in discussions.

You're a liar, too. All of you who are bearing false witness about me are simply blinded by your own hatred and theological bias, and saw what you wanted to see.

I have never said what you folks claim I said because I am not fully convinced either way. When you live by the rule of saying what you believe and believing what you say, you can speak with confidence without having to constantly look over your shoulder. If I ever said something resembling what you say I've said, then it was simply worded in away that allowed people whose hearts are predisposed to accuse to find fault and accuse rather than seek clarity about what I believe.

That happens daily, I think people on here just look to argue their doctrines so they are looking at what is said in that context. skewing things. the Bible does absolutely teach baptism for the remission of sins. the issue is "the g.o.g." that's the problem with how its taught. basically people look for the least possible commitment because "just believe" is easy. True belief is what a person does. The simplest thing is to Just Get baptized Like Jesus said to do. once Jesus said it, nothing else later, no weird logic or idea changes it. to fulfill all righteousness, baptism is taught By the gospels. getting water baptized is simply obeying What The Lord said to do. and it is absolutely the right thing. you I have noticed a lot of you comments and things since I been on here, and am honored to be your brother, because you belong to the same Lord as I. God bless you
