Ladylynn - you worry me. Your conscience is merely a balancing part of your soul that says here you are, you have done this and said that and it is inconsistent. It helps you remember your loyalties, that the person you care about here is feeling bad or that should not have been said.

What worries me is you feel the enemy can use your conscience against you. Imagine if what your conscience is saying is true. It does not mean you are guilty of sin, rather there is something you need to work through. Once you have worked through it, you know you are standing in a good place.

It sounds to me like you are searing your conscience on the premise it is evil. This leads you into spiritual blindness and a cold heart. It is why Jesus criticised the phrarisees because they had gone cold. We walk in a relationship. Now if you were saying walking in the Spirit meant was your conscience is clear you would be talking as Paul talked.

My conscience is clear. I do not know or understand the spiritual reality you are walking in, but it does not match the Lord and His work. I know you are telling me the truth, because of the way you share, but this is not what Jesus meant.

Now you are talking to someone who has a very sensitive conscience. For me joking about the kids being hurt to joke with the wife causes me issues, but it also is about care. So I do not understand this, at all.

What I do know is people who loose morality references and shut down their conscience calling it of satan, you have already blinded the population. Muslims do this are part of their indoctrination. It is why these issues matter, one on one.

Did you read the Bible verses in my post? Seems pretty clear based on these Bible verses posted along with the thoughts I shared. And if it was not clear for you, maybe you should ask instead of assume something bad about me like what you did here in your post?

Not sure where you get such negative ideas Peter. But if you're always looking for something wrong, you can always find it.

Weird you are happy to talk about the Holy Spirit not convicting of sin, but not your conscience?

Now when people preach the word, what brings conviction of sin?

It is the common theme of christian conversion. Conviction of sin, repentance and faith.

What is doing the conviction?

And why after being saved should this conviction stop is you are literally sinning?

Most christians experience conviction about issues throughout their lives. But somehow you appear to be saying this is wrong. How? Are they not christians, or is something wrong with the new creation within according to your model?
Ah, I see and understand what Lynn is saying and I might be able to state it differently. Could help, who knows? :)

It's like...I used to beat myself up pretty bad when I saw where I had gone wrong in my thinking or actions. Yes, the Holy Spirit was teaching me, convicting me, and yes, I was sorry I had understood wrong and acted wrong, but all it takes is to say, ah.. I'm sorry Lord, I didn't see what I was doing until You showed me. Thank You Lord!

But if I continue to beat myself up over it, that's actually hurt pride that I am not perfect. He knows i' m not but He just renewed my mind on the whole matter and I think differently about it now and focusing on how imperfect I was in the matter is wrong when I should be rejoicing at how He changes me and renews my thinking to be in line with His thoughts!

One time, a long time ago, this occurred on something and I said, ahhh... I see, Lord! Thank you! And I laughed at His faithfulness in making me to understand and be more and more like His Son. And I said, I am sorry, Lord, I feel I should spend more time being contrite or crying over what I thought and did but it is impossible when I am so happy that You taught me this! It's like I can't spend a few hours being contrite because You won't stop tickling me!

To be convicted and taught brings joy at His faithfulness and that He doesn't leave us in our errors and sins and wrong thinking and understanding! It's like, our joy in Him outweighs the thought that we are not being sorry enough...

[TD="colspan: 3, align: left"] Imagine this scenario: Your car tire blows and you are late for work. At the office, you find out that someone else got the promotion you had been hoping for. Then, you receive a call from home informing you that your kitchen pipes are leaking again. Before long, you hear a voice telling you, “If God loves you so much, how come all these things are happening to you?”
Perhaps you are asking the same question today and wondering if God really loves you. Well, I want you to know that you must never judge God’s love for you based on your circumstances. No, look at the cross instead! The cross is the sure symbol of God’s love for you. It is at the cross that “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”.
A teenager learnt that the cross indeed spoke of how much God loves her. At one point in her life, she was contemplating suicide as the only way out of her loveless, messed-up life. She had intended to take some pills with a lethal dose of alcohol. She was all ready to die when she started clicking aimlessly on some MP3 songs on the Internet. And of all the songs that were on her screen, she picked a beautiful song written by one of our church musicians.
The lyrics of the song, sung by one of our church vocalists, spoke of being held by God’s love and being treasured in His sight. They touched this teenager. Sensing that an awesome God with His amazing love was reaching out to her, she abandoned her plan to kill herself. Not long after that, she found our church and even met the person who had sung the song. She eventually came to know how much God loves her and how He has demonstrated His love for her through the cross.
Beloved, when you look at your life and find yourself wondering if God really loves you, look to the cross and see God’s outstretched arms. It will remind and reassure you of how much He loves you![/TD]

It is God's desire that no soul should perish. This is written, and it is true. It does not contradict the laws of Love, so therein is the evidence; not that it is needed.

Can't imagine how I missed your post. :eek: God will NEVER set His face against His sons. Because His love and reason for being on our side is based on His Son.,not our obedience or faithfulness. It was Jesus obedience and faithfulness. For that solid reason we can always know God is for us and not against us. :)

I need to go back to the beginning of this thread because right now after a week of the debate I think everybody is repeating themselves. I wonder if God is laughing? 297376-alexfas01.jpg

[TD="colspan: 3, align: left"] Are you faced with challenges in your life right now? Are you having marital problems and financial woes? Maybe your child is going astray or an old illness has returned. What then will you say to all these things?

Do you know what God wants you to say? He wants you to say, “If God is for me, who can be against me?”

If you knew that the President or the Prime Minister was for you, you might believe that everything will be okay. But you have an even better backing! The Bible tells us that God, the Almighty, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, is for you! What problem can fasten its grip on you when the Almighty God is for you? Can the devil come successfully against you with God on your side?

If God is for you today, if God is for you right now, you don’t have to moan, “If only I had this…If only I didn’t say that…” And you don’t have to worry about the future: “What if this happens…What if we don’t have enough…” My friend, regretting the past and worrying about the future won’t change anything.

Look to your heavenly Father, instead. Because He is for you at this present moment, you can be confident that He will help you and provide for you.

Beloved, God sent His Son to die for you. And Jesus gave you a blood-bought right to an abundant life full of meaning and purpose! He gave you a blood-bought right to walk in divine health all the days of your life! He gave you a blood-bought right to His supply even when the economy goes down!

You have all these things not because you deserve them, but because Jesus shed His blood and gave you the right to have them. All these blessings are yours today because God is for you! And if God is for you, who can be against you!

Psalm 103:2-5 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits;

[SUP]3 [/SUP] Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;

[SUP]4 [/SUP] Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;

[SUP]5 [/SUP] Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

Some of us live in a relatively safe countries and we are blessed to live out our lives here in peace so that we can be a blessing to others around the world.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 (KJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
[SUP]2 [/SUP] For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. [/TD]

Actually the thread has been running for hundreds of years. God will sort it out. The bottom line " For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--"

You know what I have come to see the bottom line as? Sanctification, just like salvation, is by faith alone.
If I could have grasped this sooner, I would have saved myself a lot of unnecessary agony!

If people understood that God is for them, not against them, they might get to where they are going faster.

It simply means to trust and believe that Jesus Christ your Lord has you in His hands and He will perfect everything that concerns you. He will be faithful to you in all things no matter what.

I would encourage you to listen to message on the gospel of the grace of Christ so that you can grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus.
