by this all will know that you are My disciples that you show love for one another - Jesus.

we have to prove to each other how saved we are - false teachers.
The good shepherd tries to protect his flock from the wolves=false teachers. :)

Beg pardon, but not ONE of the verses above supports your assertion, "God's grace is given to those who truly love Him, and keep His commandments..."

Mercy Grace

And Grace cannot be earned, or it is not Grace:
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. (from Rom. 11)

-JGIG
God's mercy and His grace are shown as the same, and I didn't say it was "earned" but "given"= gift. :)

You will know them by their fruit=words and actions.
That sounds all well and good, and I even agree with you - we see all kinds of fruit on this forum, both good and bad - but where is your PROOF that 'hyper-gracers' are living lasciviously?

And what about those who are sinning who don't adhere to the 'hyper-grace' message? What's their excuse?

Guys, maybe my wife's words will help. When she sees me getting frustrated at some of the ig___nce on here, she reminds me that "You were just as blind and stubborn once yourself." It helps..... sometimes. LOL

Mercy and Grace are different.

Mercy is not getting what you deserve (punishment).

Grace is getting what you don't deserve (salvation).

And you absolutely did say that Grace is earned: "God's grace is given to those who truly love Him, and keep His commandments..."

You declared an exchange of grace for love and obedience - that's called earning, friend, just as you are given money for your labor - it's an exchange of one for the other.

Amen....multiple scriptures testify that grace and mercy are different.

1 Timothy 1:2 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] To Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Timothy 1:2 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] To Timothy, my beloved son: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Titus 1:4 (KJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Hebrews 4:16 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

There's more but I think this should do it...

Speaks of what is deserved in mercy aslo

James 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

Being online you cannot see many of their actions, except perhaps the lavish lifestyles of some of these Mega church preachers. God said his witnesses would come wearing sackcloth, not fancy suits, jets, mansions etc. But for me it's more about the doctrine they preach, and the words and beliefs of it's followers that proves it to be in error. And yes, false doctrine and beliefs is not limited to the Hyper grace crowd only.

In other words there is no real proof of these " hyper-grace crowd " promoting lasciviousness as they have been falsely accused of. So, let's clean up our behavior in these threads and have some respect for others and not slander them.

It is ok to agree to disagree with a teaching but slander and false accusations need to stop so that others can have a healthy environment to safely voice their views on subjects.

My wife gets a kick out of those accusations. She says I am one of the biggest stick-in-the-muds she knows. I don't even drive above the speed limit or run yellow lights.

LOL...your "lasciviousness" shows up when you go to church wearing jeans and sometimes shorts!...pure "spirit of lawlessness" in action..

It's even worse. I admit to "compromising." I wear neither 'tight' jeans, nor 'loose' ones. I'm 'lukewarm' in my attire.

Both God's mercy and grace are shown as his loving kindness and favor in scripture.

And shewing [SUP]H6213[/SUP] mercy [SUP]H2617[/SUP] unto thousands [SUP]H505[/SUP] of them that love [SUP]H157[/SUP] me, and keep [SUP]H8104[/SUP] my commandments. [SUP]H4687[/SUP]

Being justified [SUP]G1344[/SUP] freely [SUP]G1432[/SUP] by his [SUP]G846[/SUP] grace [SUP]G5485[/SUP] through [SUP]G1223[/SUP] the redemption [SUP]G629[/SUP] that is in [SUP]G1722[/SUP] Christ [SUP]G5547[/SUP] Jesus: [SUP]G2424[/SUP]

And I clearly said "given" in my post. If I said "earned" as you suggest then show which post I said that in please. :)

You supply all the proof we need by way of videos and copy pastes from the escape from reality website. :)

Maybe some people just don't have dictionaries, and don't know what many of these words they throw around even mean.

Did you think the article was good?
I thought the article was great and had some really good points...sometimes words get in the way, that is why I thank God that He sees our hearts.

If we really want to communicate and edify each other we can find a way past misunderstanding and practice speaking God's truth in a way others can understand.

Part of the reason I come to the forum is to help me learn to articulate what I believe and set people free from the lies and misconceptions that enslave them by a deeper understanding of scripture and through prayer lift up my,brothers and sisters so we might be encouraged to continue doing good works for His glory.

It saddens me to see people misrepresent others beliefs and not see their own pride or arrogance.

The bickering and bite backing is a sign of immaturity and childishness and spiritual wickedness that blinds people from actually reading and understanding one another....

Do you know why the Enemy promotes fighting?

Because if we all actually practiced fellowship, what a powerful force this website could truly be as a testimony of God's holy Spirit working and moving in the lives of all its members.

If the world really wanted to destroy the church they should just leave us alone....because we would just eat ourselves.
