I wish I was that type of person that doesnt feel pain.

Im just soooo sensitive
I am sorry for the pain you're dealing with. You seem like a strong and caring young lady with a good heart. I learned a little about FM when I was studying pharmacy and I remember you mentioning it in one of your posts. You are probably a lot stronger than a lot of us can imagine. I wish you the very best. God bless you.

Hmm I somewhat wish I was more laid-back/open-minded. I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I expect things to be done a certain way. And everything I do has to be planned. If someone asks me to go somewhere, I have to know when, where, how long, etc. If they tell me an hour, it better be an hour. Just going with the flow is exhausting. I don't know how people do it. :p

I am the same way. Have you heard of HSP's? (Highly Sensitive People) I think you might be one. I'm pretty sure I'm one. Here's a video about it. This lady is a licensed therapist and so far she's the only one whose opinion I trust on youtube.

I'm trying to figure out how to not be this way. It's actually the thing that inspired me to make this thread..

That sounds EXACTLY like my sister! She is everything that lady is describing. She has big trouble with getting stressed out at events and from noises and light, and she is totally a perfectionist.

It's not what I have though. I used to think it was depression for me, which I had at the worse last December. Depression certainly hightened the problem for me but it wasn't the cause.

I've decided to call it "post-social-anxiety" because that's really what it is. Not social anxiety, not exactly social awkwardness, but post social anxiety.

That is quite a satement to say she is the only (therapist, I take it) that you trust on YouTube. The question that then comes to mind for me is, is she Christian? I generally would not trust anybody saying something about the mind unless they are coming at it from a Godly perspective.

I am amazed this is what inspired you to create this thread.

I wish to be a person who is excited to wake up early and workout right now. This sedentary lifestyle is killing me.

I wish I was someone who could just say I don't care and really mean it. I wish life didn't have to hurt so much and that I could deal with emotional pain with a little more grace. Tired of the tears. Tired of hurting for others. Physical pain is much more tolerable but empathize with others way too quickly. I want to just fix everything, but that does not work in real life.

I'm glad that you seem to have identified what you're dealing with. I think I'm a bit HSP but more social anxiety. I'm often intuitive but I don't get too upset by bright lights and noise. Being nervous and embarassed in public is my biggest thing.

The reason I don't trust the other people I've heard speaking about HSPs on youtube is because they seem like they're focused on the stuff that just annoys them. I get the impression that they might just be people who are easily annoyed. The difference is that HSPs have a heightened sense of awareness and this makes them more intuitive because they notice subtle things that the average person wouldn't notice. There are probably other good HSP speakers on youtube. I just haven't come across them yet.

knew God's complete will for my life & was able to spiritually handle it & do it immediately. We receive here a little, there a little as we need it..... but there's so much we can't handle, & God won't show us till we're mature enough. He's smart like that.:)

Yes, it is nice to know what it is. Makes it easier. Doesn't make it easier to explain to anyone, though, LOL.

Thats ok nothing wrong with that I am too, it is what tells you you are alive, Jesus was sensitive too. When we don't feel pain we become num dull insensitive that's a problem indeed people can become dark and cold when they don't feel sensitiveness of the heart..
Well my dad raised me to be a machine without feelings at all. dont show emotion, dont have emotion..when I first encountered people of God and their love it was really hard to deal with and by now im the right opposite lol

Finish the sentence: "I wish I was the type of person who __________"

And then explain why you aren't that type of person (if you can)... :)
Always Healthy and Wealthy (ㄒoㄒ)
because I am sick (Blood Cancer) and We are not Financially stable so we look like beggars always asking for help to our relatives and friends to support my medications .. Thanks to God that He is the God who provides by our situations now we really feel God's Favor in our life .. (^v^)

I wish I was the type of person who people throughout history made movies, games, stories, and epic musical tributes about.

Not in an arrogant or egotistical way... I just want to be the hero of the story type that rescues children from burning buildings, slays monsters, saves towns, sacrifices himself, and such.

... remembered people's names
... could "get into" a new environment routine whatever fast and seamlessly

Oh... I was supposed to explain why I'm not that type of person... Hm...

Lack of the right place, time, mindset, and situation?
