Yes. I've started plans, but I'm wondering if I should continue.

Perhaps, but it's not exactly anything stellar or even explicitly Christian.

Well, if he really does want that all for me, then it'll only happen either when I'm dead or when he returns.

Hi HistoryPrincess!! He really does want those good things for us and not when we are dead because Jesus came to give us life AND that more abundantly (overflow.,plentiful supply, plentiful-amount, fullness, affluent., AMPLE., rich in harvest., streams overflowing)

It's the enemy who seeks to kill-steal and destroy. consider this., the enemy wants to kill-steal and destroy us now while we are on earth AND later when we leave this earth.
Jesus is the One who wants to give us life here and now while we are here on earth AND later when we leave this earth.

Jesus sets the captive person free., and wants to be our guide and support all through now into eternity. How else can we know Him if He doesn't make Himself known to us and meet us where we are? He meets us where we are and takes us from there to an understanding of Him.

That is why we read God's Word so we can find out all there is to know about Jesus and how we should live. He is the One who made us and gave us the natural desires for love and family and security. The more we know Him the more life and quality we will have. He is a good and kind and gracious Savior. Don't listen to the lie that says anything otherwise.

Do you know sometimes when our mind is occupied with a diversion, that is when all the things that we have been waiting for and stressing over almost seem to fall readily and easily into our laps...with no effort, no power, no might of our own...

Remember?
Not by power or by might, but by HIS SPIRIT.

Sometimes we do have to give everything to HIM and wait...
If you can't do that easily because of your mind always occupied and worried and if you can't ask HIM to still and guard your heart and mind in HIM, trusting in HIM...then yes, begin to write and still pray for the desires of your heart and don't do anything by your effort, don't already plan an agenda beforehand...just do what you will do and wait on HIM...

Well, he may want us to have abundant life. But that abundance might not be what we think it is. And Jesus also couldn't be talking about this life at all.

And by setting the captive person free, that could only mean being forgiven of our sins and setting things right spiritually.

You say so.
Let others make that decision.
I have a feeling that you really short-change yourself in many areas!

Maybe, maybe not. Whatever happens, happens, I guess.

I tend to expect the worst because I've been disappointed a lot and don't want to go through it again.

No, it means everything is permissible but you are responsible to do what is right, that HE has given you of HIS SPIRIT trusting that you know what is right and will do it in all seasons...
You are free because HE freed you...not to live as a slave or an illegitimate child...but to live as a daughter/princess of THE KING...not to take HIS GRACE and HIS FREEDOM as a license to sin, but to take HIS GRACE and HIS FREEDOM which HE has entrusted to you, as a license to abundant life...for you and for others around you...those whom you touch...those whom you may not even know in this life that you HAVE touched...

Go through it again and again and again.
We will..
There are many heartaches, many disappointments, many will offend and we will offend many.

But that is the secret to those who belong to HIM.
They get up and they press on...for that upward call in CHRIST...laying hold of HIM (and never letting go) who took hold of us! Trusting that HE who began the GOOD WORK (I will say it again, THE GOOD WORK) in us, will bring it to completion.

I have to go for the night.
I sure do hope you set out to do what is in your heart and what is right before THE LORD....

I've tried to believe that every day for a long time, but it only made me mentally tired. I've always viewed the Christian life as one of sacrifice and service. I can't really imagine God giving me what I most want. Besides, that would be selfish. Whenever I pray it's usually for spiritual things. The moment I ask otherwise, I feel guilty.

Your service is divided right now. HE sees your heart first and foremost. You are telling us what you want...and you are sad because you haven't received it yet...

You do know the testing of your faith brings about patience. And that patience has to finish its work so that you will be made perfect and complete, lacking nothing...(James 1 (paraphrased))

Go back to serving HIM...and wait on HIM and trust in HIS FAITHFULNESS

I pray a lot. I have a daily prayer journal. But it seems always to just be words rather than action. And actions usually speak louder than words for me.

Well, the first thing to consider is it's not about how much we love God., it's how much God loves us. The Bible says 1 John 4:10
[SUP]10 [/SUP]In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins.

It's not about what "we" do. It's about what Jesus does. The Bible says to look to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith. Looking at yourself and your actions will soon bring you down in the dumps.

Here in is Love., not that we love God but that HE loves us and gave us His Son.. ." We can't love God until we know He loves us. And that is what you and all of us need to know first in order to have a proper perspective. If our perspective is off., we can't see properly. Life is confusing and makes no sense when we have a wrong perspective.
