I can definitely speak about thisf rom my own experience.
I met Him and received His Spirit but did not have much victory. It went on this way for many years.
I was not fully accepting of His will in all things.I complained a lot, all the time, about whatever circumstance I found myself in, which I would have ceased if I truly believed Him that He guides my steps.
I was always quick to defend myself against attacks and selfishnesses of others.
He has to humble us before We can be of use to Him, and we are NEVER as humble as we think we are.
Why should He give virtues to someone like that?
Why would He? It would only further damage us.

I had been sealed with His Spirit, yet I was full of the pride that defended itself always and expected respect from others.
What respect is due ME? And how is trying to gain it seeking His will? It's not. It's seeking MY will.

I now don't expect anything from others the same way I don't expect what I order from the drive thru at McDonalds. I pull up to the window and when they ask what I would like I say, just give me whatever you want! I expect mistreatments and I am now thankful for them because I have seen that other people are His instruments to humble me further. And they are most often an opportunity to teach me TRUE forgiveness.

I've begun to see Him take away all of the angers and resentments in me. I've begun to have victories over these enemies that seek to destroy me. And in it, I see others soften too, which is the most amazing part of it, though it shouldn't be, because we know we love Him because He loved us first. I was very unlovable, but He loved and desired me anyway. I have to walk as He walked in this. But He could not increase my virtues because of pride and lack of humility and my insistence on treating people only as well as they treated me.

The circumstance you find yourself in today, even this very minute, and the people within those circumstances, are tools in His hand. Testing comes under PRESSURE. These everyday circumstances ARE our warfare and our testings. And the testings aren't so He can see us fail. They are so WE can see us fail and become more humble and cling more to Him as our only hope to be good.

Those who live for Jesus, will overcome the circumstances, and they won't fail if they know the Bible and stand in faith on it's promises.

I love Debby and Wayne, I used to listen to them and go on their retreats in PA when I lived there, they are good people.
I will try to post a joy-filled comment as soon as I'm done picking the pieces of my brain off the ceiling!

WHY then......HOW COME......WHAT the ffffor crying out loud.....AAAaaahhhhrrrrgggghh!!! God bless us, everyone!

What? I actually considered Wayne more like a father in Christ in the sense I tuned into him more then my own pastor, I had all his teaching tapes at the time, I didnt even want to move South because I would miss him, but he started uploaded online where you can hear his teachings, I had started listening to him over twenty years ago and havent tuned in to him for well over a decade. I still hold him dear, and yet today even if I might differ on things I wouldnt make anything such a issue with him or anyone, but I have no problems fellowshipping with anyone who believes different on things, and can agree to disagree cordially he is not of those who attacked people, very gracious. Consistent in the love and grace of God, and through his ministry aided me in the beginning. If you are familar with him he is very grace centered.

In your previous posts, you have made it sound like Jesus has done it all, and we don't have to do anything.
But truth tells us that we have to let Jesus do a work in us, and we have to let Jesus live His life through us.

Yes of course. I haven't said anything different to that have I? All we are to do is to believe in his finished work.. :)

Yes. But babies don't come out of the womb walking and running. They come out shrieking and kicking. Even in the growth and progression of a baby, the glory of God can be seen because He made everything to show His glory. Because a baby does a lot of flailing and kicking in his new environment does not mean he hasn't been born.

We are all so so different but the truth of the gospel is the same for all... Some people get it straight away.. Some people like me don't haha.. It's took 7 years of me trying and striving.. The Lord knows each one of us and exactly what we need. That's why it's so Important we don't ever compare ourselves to another because there is no other person like us.. Be patient knowing that all his promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus.. The more we know the truth the more we become free.. We are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds... Some people have only a few strongholds that need pulling down with the truth.. Some people like me again have millions! Praise God.. He is the same for each one of us :)

Baby Christians can be excused as they need time to learn about the Bible, and grow in the Lord.

It's not learning about the bible.. It's reading the bible to grow in the knowledge of Jesus.. In John 5:39 Jesus says "You search and investigate and pore over the scriptures diligently because you suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them. And these very scriptures testify about Me!"

2 Corinthians 5:21 (amp)

He made Christ who knew no sin to (judicially) be sin on our behalf, so that in him we would become the righteousness of God (that is we would be made acceptable to him and placed in a right relationship with him by his gracious loving kindness)

So, if we believe in the bible to be the living word of God then we believe this scripture to say that Jesus was made sin for us.. all of us... Every single one of our sins was on him.. right? If every single one of our sins was on him then what does that make us ? Sinless maybe ? Of course! How can Jesus be made sin for us to then have us battle with it everyday?? Does God need to send Jesus back everytime we sin or did he cry out "IT IS FINISHED"?

Brothers and sisters.. This verse tells us that because of Jesus we are made righteous in the eyes of our father.. The word righteous in the original Hebrew text comes from the word "tssaddiq" it means blameless- innocent - just- one in the right.

If we allow this truth to sink into our hearts it will change everything.. The truth is that there is NOTHING that we can do to be accepted by God but to believe in the name of Jesus.. Everything he is became everything we are.. Not the minute we accepted him but the minute he rose again.. It has all been done for the whole of mankind, it's just they don't know it yet..

This my brothers and sisters is the true Gospel of grace.. Jesus Christ and him crucified all because of love... the fathers love for YOU...

Please add scriptures to back this up.. Let's spread the good news :)

Amen.:)

Taken to that logical conclusion, you are advocating universalism. If Christ has successfully atoned and bore the wrath of God for "all" of humanity, then no one is under that wrath of God anymore. They have no reason to be given over to eternal punishment.

I would highly suggest you study all that pertains to this issue because using language like this is sloppy and dangerous. Any systematic theology will have a few chapters dealing with it and will give you a good understanding.
I recommend the Systematic Theology by John Frame for a lifetime of good study on this issue and much more.

I recommend the Word of God. Leave all other books written by man alone, they will mess your mind up.

[h=1]John 3:36 (KJV)[/h] [SUP]36 [/SUP]He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

But truth tells us that we have to let Jesus do a work in us, and we have to let Jesus live His life through us.

Not for eternal life. It's a free gift God gives those who believe. We are justified by faith. In fact, if we attempt to provide any part of our own salvation, the bible says we're not saved! (Matt. 9:13)

Can't stay long, Thanks for a great thread. After all the hate threads that's been poured out lately.

Here is my contribution. Praise God.

Eph 1
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, [SUP]4 [/SUP]even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love [SUP]5 [/SUP]he predestined us[SUP][b][/SUP] for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, [SUP]6 [/SUP]to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. [SUP]7[/SUP]In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, [SUP]8 [/SUP]which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight [SUP]9 [/SUP]making known[SUP][c][/SUP] to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ [SUP]10 [/SUP]as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, [SUP]12 [/SUP]so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. [SUP]13 [/SUP]In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, [SUP]14 [/SUP]who is the guarantee[SUP][d][/SUP] of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it,[SUP][e][/SUP] to the praise of his glory.

The riches of Gods grace in ACTION

One chapter can tell us all we need to know about our position, and walk with Him

Hebrews 10:1-3 (KJV)

10 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

Some today are trying to offer their own "sacrifices" to make themselves "perfect" instead of relying on His one sacrifice!

[SUP]10 [/SUP]By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

When we have believed the gospel, we are sanctified by His blood.

Amen...this is so true! This "doing our own sacrifices" manifests in many different ways but it always comes down to trying to establish or "maintain" our own righteousness instead of believing in what Christ has already done for us and imparted His righteousness into our spirit in the new person in Christ now - created in righteousness and holiness.

This striving to "maintain" righteousness instead of believing in Christ's alone for salvation is in effect anti-the gospel and anti-Christ in it's belief.

Satan and his horde do not come to the believer in Christ and say "Sin all you want" because no one would for fall for such a lie.

Instead they come as
"ministers of righteousness".

They want us to live by our own D.I.Y. self-righteousness/holiness so that we will be not be depending on what Christ has done for us by grace through faith alone for salvation and for our continued life in Him.

This cuts us off from receiving the grace of God in our lives.

2 Corinthians 11:14-15 (KJV)
[SUP]14[/SUP] And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

[SUP]15[/SUP] Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. ( notice that is "their" works )

This below is what satan is really after...this is why he has false teachers in our midst. He wants us to fall away from grace and depend on our own performance and sacrifices.

1 Peter 1:13
[SUP]13[/SUP] Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Baby Christians can be excused as they need time to learn about the Bible, and grow in the Lord.

Yes, they require a lot of patience sometimes. I guess my point was...spiritual progression doesn't happen so linearly and to the month as with a human baby. It is good to be patient and careful because sometimes someone who has been born again may still be a baby spiritually after a few years. They can have a lot of head knowledge and still be a baby sometimes.

If our Lord has grown us in virtue but not them as much yet, we should try to help them as we can by sharing what we have learned, but we have to be careful for our own selves that we don't look down on them for having not been as blessed yet as us in this, as if we caused our own growth. Others can water but it is GOD who causes the growth. He's a good and faithful father and if someone is still a baby, He is still gently guiding them and won't choke them or scare them by force feeding them adult food.

With Israel in the desert, He did not guide them by the most direct route so they would not become scared and turn around. Some of us are like that.

Yes, this is what's blowing my mind to shreds, honest!!! Seeing what you just wrote, you and I should never have had any cross words, EVER, and if Debbie knew or was here right now, (my beautiful, loving sister Debbie who I love so much), she would bang our heads together like a couple of Stooges, I'm sure, :p .

Please, I don't want to tie up a really wonderful thread with us, (God's grace abounds, and He really is so amazing!) and I know Wayne and Debbie and the whole gang are ALL about His Amazing Grace, that's why I posted that vid/song from an earlier retreat.

So I'm confused over past 'threads of contention', and would much rather rejoice with you as a friend and sister in Christ, than what has seemed to be almost like an enemy of the cross and the grace of Jesus.
But if you are a friend and supporter of Wayne and Debbie, there's no way that's possible, unless one of us has completely lost your mind..... :p (THAT WAS A JOKE! ;) )

But seriously, can I pm you sometime, not for debate or arguement over law/grace/works, etc., but to find agreement somewhere and be able to move ahead and be about our Father's business together in Jesus' name?
As He would have it...us, as in 1stJohn3:23?

If you want, you can answer me either way in a pm,
and again, I apologize for sidetracking this great thread.
God bless you.
(And Thank you, Jesus, for blowing my mind. Again. \:D/ )

who are Wayne and Debby?

inquiring minds and whatnot. ;)

He is a minister in NJ who has a talk radio "Lets talk about Jesus" 5-6 a week for an hour a day.

I am 25 years old in the Lord but back then many years ago he was like my spiritual father in the sense that I grew when I was younger. I could not develope an appreciation for his taste in music but he was a blessing. I was just shocked having moved many states away (and havent listened to him for over a decade) only to find someone posting a video of his worship in the woods retreat (here on this forum). And who was posting it LOL

I try not to discuss personal things or derail threads, so I appologize to the OP
