and you were right! just this morning i told my husband he looks like he got hit by a bus. :)

what? i'm not adept at flirting?

:p
Sounds good to me. Lots of times the staff hasn't seen John in quite some time, so when they see him, they say things like, "Wow, I hardly recognized you. You look great."

And I add, "Well, yeah, but the last time you saw him he could barely move, so anything looks great compared to that."

John beams.

It's my flirting skills. What can I say? :)

I am just old enough to have forgotten. Oh yeah! I had 2-3 cats the entire time I was "alone." (Had to give up one to marry. How's that for scary thought, but married a guy who couldn't take longhaired cats. He also hated cats in general, but the cat, who stayed, stayed for 14 more years, and hubby grieved as much as I did. And yes, he did watch me silently for 15 minutes deciding who stayed -- him or the cat. Now that's what I call "a leap of faith.")

But keep this between you and me.

I think I replaced the cat with stuffed animals, because I've been talking to them and hugging them a lot in the last 7 months. To the point of wondering if my neighbors want to know who I'm talking to.

lol I would have probably told the guy to live in his own apartment till the cat is gone. We have 4 cats. 2 long hair ladies (young adults) and 2 short haired pensioners

i use cheesy pick up lines on my boyfriend.

he still loves me though. lol
My new pick up line is, "Do we go out for lunch or stay in bed?"

He's in a hospital bed. "Out for lunch" means the nursing homes' cafeteria. "Stay in bed" means they serve him in his room.

Cheesy enough? It works. He always has lunch with me.

One thing people tend to say is: Your so beautiful, are you a angel who fell from heaven??
And I'm like.. Did you just really call me a Demon...

When you meet the guy worth giving up a cat for, you know you met The One. I do get how hard that decision was. Fortunately, Thoreau the Cat found a new home with a coworker named Cat. lol

I'd be all, "Really? You're using a line from a cellphone commercial?"

(Your response is better.)

Hey, better than mine. After I knew he was The One, I out and out told him I'd be stalking him forever. lol

(Different era, so stalking wasn't as creepy as it is now, but it still meant I'd be about 6-8 feet behind him wherever he went.)

And, look at me now. I'm still following him around.

This is the heart of it. I don't get that. Any chance you can explain it?

And to me, this is like 3D movies. I can't watch 3D movies without seeing that shadow thing happening on the screen that people who enjoy them don't see. I'm cockeyed, so I have no depth perception. (My BIL can't watch them because he's color blind, so there is a small percentage of people who can't watch them.) And I'm just curious what everyone else is getting out of it. I'll never get either 3D movies or flirting, but I am curious what others get out of flirting. (Apparently, with 3D movies "it's like its coming right at you." Well, okay then, but why do you want a shark to look like it's coming right at you?
)
I've read that flirting is known to release dopamine, serotonin, and adrenaline; these chemicals have positive affects on us. Studies show that individuals known to have flirting tendencies have higher white blood-cell counts, resulting in higher immunity and better health.

Personally, I feel flirting
boosts confidence and self esteem, especially if you've been together for a long time, it allows the other person to feel that they are still attractive to you. It creates a closeness, a special bond between you and your partner. Imagine when you've had a stressful day at work and then you're greeted with a flirtatious remark from your "special someone"

Imagine someone you don't care for flirts with you and you get an overwhelming urge to punch them in the throat... Maybe that's just me.... Not cute, not endearing, but worthy of an opposite and equal reaction. LOL :D

He "Hi, Babe"s me and gives me this "Boy, you are the one face in the whole wide world I want to see right now" grin. I'm not sure if I give the same face to him before or after he gives it to me, but I sense total relaxation like all the cares of the world melt off my shoulders just seeing him.

We touch significantly. Not that we're touchy-feely, but when we touch, it's like a blood transfusion. His whole being goes straight through me, if he grabs my hand, or pats my shoulder, kisses me, or even grabs my.... And, I automatically touch him to give him what he gives me. I don't know what that is, but it really does feel like I was a pint low, and he transfused that blood instantly.

Is that flirting?

Yeah, but by the time I realize someone is flirting with me, it's already been proven it wasn't cute or endearing, so... punch seems accurate.
