Old Agatha Christie movies.
Sherlock Holmes and you can go from the 1930's old B & W movies clear up to modern reinventions like Elementary and Sherlock -- the BBC specials. (I highly recommend the modern versions. Not just mysteries, but true character studies. And the characters are deep but oddly funny.)
Twin Peaks

If you like sci fi in your mysteries (I'm more into scifi), there's Roswell, StarGate (lots of explanations of different mythological gods in that, so it might get you on an Egyptian history/celtic history/Norse myth kick), and Night Stalker is yellow-rag newspaper guy covering stories about creatures of the night. (Not just vamps, but vamp include, I'm sure.)

The following are kind of cheesy detective TV series from the 70's -- Mannix, Streets of San Francisco (the says when Michael Douglas was dreamy, but just a TV star), The original Hawaii 50, and Kojak.

I really wasn't into mysteries or thrillers, but detective shows were as popular in my youth as CSI shows are now, so hard to avoid them. (And, be glad, I did NOT recommend Charlie's Angels. lol)

Still, honestly. Watch Minions if you haven't seen it. That may be up there with ET for an all time favorite now. lol

Ive seen the hound of baskerville, ET, Minions, Stargate (I liked that though im not really into sci fi), I like Kojack, I like CSI aswell...thats all I know from the ones listed.

- The weirdest / creepiest movie I ever came across was "Linkerover", but I ended up finding something else after ten minutes.

lol creepy is ok.. I like exorcist movies.. Well like said I dont like bloody stuff. Jumpy and creepy is ok. I Dont like the crazy stuff like people getting ripped apart or Mentally Ill people biting peoples ears off in Mental asylums..nope nope nope.

No? You never heard of Charlies' Angels? That's up there with mood rings, pet rocks, and elephant bells for embarrassing fads of my generation.

If you like sci-fi check out the TV series Babylon 5. I think it is the best TV sci-fi series ever. Better than Star Trek IMHO.
There was another series called Firefly that was good but ended prematurely. They made a movie of it as well.

I dunno if youre still looking for suggestions, but I know a good movie. Its a spooky horror-comedy called The Frighteners, its a 90's film starring Michael J Fox. Its not bloody and gorey, it has great characters, an interesting story, some scary stuff, and a nice love story, too. (Not everyone likes those but I do). Its a really good not so well known movie thats worth a watch.
