Seriously, just get a modern translation of the Bible and read it through! Modern is important, because we want the Bible to speak to us in our heart language. There is just too much obscure language in the KJV, to say nothing of all those mistakes, because the best and earliest manuscripts were not used in translation. KJV was great back in its day, but 400 years later, we need to use the language that we know. Not a dialect from 400 years ago.

Once you have read the Bible through a few times, then you might want to look for a church based Bible study, with Real Life people. The internet is filled with all kinds of nonsense, and that includes Bible studies. If your church doesn't have Bible studies, it is time they did. And if they won't have them, then look for a church that does!

I totally disagree too much of the translators opinions on what the word says is in many of the modern translations and it is hard to see God's personality for lack of a better word in many of the modern translation. And in all seriousness some of the modern translations will cut you off from Christ if you never realize what they are saying is not what God is saying.

I believe Blue Letter Bible has studies on it. But I agree that you should read through the Bible.
 
Download E-Sword a google search will pull it up. It is a great tool for bible studies with lots of commentary, concordances, search tools compare translations etc. The best part is, it is free. Also if you go to the download section within the program you can download different translations, maps, greek/hebrew dictionarys. It has been a wonderful tool to use during my studies but nothing beats having an actual bible to study from also. I believe there is a way to get full studies with it also but I am not 100% sure, sorry.

That's a tough one.

One of the issues that would likely arise is that, because the Bible is big, it would take a lot of time for a single person to do Bible studies on the whole thing.

What you'll have, then, is a variety of people doing the studies, and probably using a variety of techniques to teach.

While you might like one person's technique, you might find the next person's technique to stink!

I'd recommend sitting down with a good study Bible and just slowly reading. Take notes, maybe high-light scripture that really stands out.

There are a couple different study Bibles that I like, including the NIV Study Bible and the Quest Study Bible.

There is a site called Bible Study Tools and they have Bible reading plans with some videos i think, last time i checked, and reminded me with my Bible reading schedule

I think a good place to start is on. How can we hear God and know it is not our conscience speaking?

What are some of the prescriptions he has set forth seeing he asks us to study to seek His approval and not that of our own selves or others.

Pro 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Parables like the one above come to mind. Seeing they conceal His understanding from one while he gives it to the believers as a kingdom of Priest .Like that of the noble Bearen's in whom the Holy Spirit moved when Paul spoke and they because God turned them they searched the scriptures daily to see if it was so.

He freely gives us that honor.

Another daily prescription that the Doctor of our faith orders so that we can walk by faith the unseen eternal is below.

2Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
 
^^ That is the M'Cheyne Reading plan.... if you follow it precisely, you will
read the NT + Psalms/Proverbs twice in a year, and the OT once.

D.A. Carson (theologian and pastor) also has a very good and well received devotional
