So! Britain has voted leave and Cameron has sworn he would abdicate. Now the race is on for a new Prime Minister!

This CNN Article is a decent primer on who is (and isn't) throwing their hat in the ring. I'd like to hear some British thoughts on this. Who do you think will win? Who do you think would be best?

Here are the most apparent options:

Boris Johnson defied predictions and hopes by saying he will not seek the nomination.

Michael Gove, the current Justice Secretary, is seeking the Johnson mantle as the hardcore Brexit campaigner and Brexit implementer in Chief.

Theresa May is considered the odds on favorite. The Home Secretary supported Remain, but now claims "Brexit means Brexit..."

Stephen Crabb has already been praised in this forum. He is Work and Pensions Secretary (sounds like an awful job) and also supported Remain, but claims the government must play with the hand it has been dealt.

Liam Fox, MP and former Defense Secretary, supported Leave.

Andrea Leadsom is the Minister of State for Energy. She seems like a hardcore Brexit advocate though not as influential as Mr. Gove.

For me there is only 2 worth considering. Theresa May seems to have the best CV, she apparently was an "inner" although apparently only borderline. I heard her speech today and I liked what I heard. She is experienced, respected, calm, and articulate, has good negotiating skills (vital for doing a deal with Brussels) and would bring unity. She spoke of having "outers" in her cabinet and says there will be no general election in the foreseeable future. She also said she would not accept free movement of people from Europe in any deals.

The only other candidate who interests me is Stephen Crabb, a Christian who did not go with the gay "marriage" vote. I like him because he comes from a working class background and isn't ashamed of his faith or his humble beginnings. He was also an "inner" but speaks of going forward with how the people voted. He is very young though and as yet pretty much unproven. Maybe he will be one for the future - possibly the next general election.

I don't trust Gove but maybe Fox & Leadsom will do well as support for TM in government.

I am happy Boris is out of the equation - I don't think he is prime minister material and when I heard him speak a couple of days ago he seemed to be back tracking on free movement for a trade deal with Europe. I wouldn't put it past him to call a repeat referendum either!

If I were a gambler I'd put my money on Theresa May!

Yall wanna bet if I took over a country that there would be nomore LGBT or Muslim problems?? I can give ya a 100% assurance of that. No more alive pedophiles, No more alive rapists,....

Firearms with a permit yes. Taxes: Richer can pay more than middle class. Elderly and Kids need the most support and shouldnt have to carry asmuch weight as the other classes.. (kids none of course duuh)

Speaking of Germans...I think Angela Merkel had not done much wrong in all the upheaval that was last Friday. Her comments have been calm and measured. On the other hand Hollande and that Jenker guy (or whatever his name is) have been very unfriendly even rude!

To be honest, as I didnt listen to a lot of it I cant really tell. I turned her off when she started with the ''Democracy..EU.. Its too help one another and not,.....''

That's Merkel for you. She's really very vanilla and her immigration policy is utter madness. Really, this importation of the third world was the straw that broke the camel's back and Germany led the way.

If you like Brexit, send Merkel a "Danke" card.

Ive never felt unsafe or anything like that here in Germany.. Till she started that madness. First the refugees were mainly in big cities but by now theyre in every village. whereever ya go theres arabic and african and other languages.. less and less german..more and more rape.. I can tell ya stories from around my area

Uggghh, that must be the German in you. Well, it would be an improvement in Deutschland. I'll sign off on that and try to move the needle a few more notches to the libertarian Right myself when the policy is being implemented.

This is why I belong in Tennessee or Texas with a shock collar around my neck for when I try to cross state boundaries.

That must be terrifying as a young woman. I'll pray for you.

I saw the American flag and just assumed your German ancestry was over 100 years old (ie old to the point of irrelevancy) like the rest of us.
