As many of you are aware I'm relatively new to the family. I have been saved for 3 WEEKS TODAY!!!!! I'm so excited. God has really been working with me a lot. I am still like everyone else on this world human and as a human I'm capable of making mistakes. The only perfect one was Jesus and Jesus is alive and in heaven praise the Lord for that.

I am in need of mentors. I would prefer to have male mentors to keep away from the appearance of evil. It's nothing against females at all. I'm married and out of respect to my wife I don't have female friends. Now then I want many mentors. I have Blain already as on. However, I need more help and training. So anyone interested in helping me out with being trained up I ask that you private message me please thank you.

I see how it is now. This is discrimination! You just don't want a ladybug helping you, that's all. Well, see if I ever keep the pests out of YOUR garden again! hmmph.. ;) lol jk

It's not discrimination ladybug. I don't have an issue with it. My wife gets antsy and thinks I'm doing something wrong when I have female friends regardless of the reason. I do it out of respect to her. I love my wife and don't want her to think I'm doing anything wrong. So please forgive me for that. I hope you understand ladybug. This is also intended for all females as well. I'm respecting my wife's wishes and mean no disrepect at all to anyone.

Not offended at all. Go back and read my post, from a ladybug's point of view. You'll get what I was saying. :)

I know what you were saying I was just clearing it up for anyone who may have been wondering. It is funny from the ladybug point of view and all the other talking about sex changes and pee is getting a bit disturbing. I know it's intended to be jokes but still. I feel certain jokes don't need to be said by Christians this is my opinion by the way.

I am not on enough, nor am I equipped enough to mentor in the sense that you wish. But I can give some advice...

#1, what is easy now will become hard later...
Giving up sins is easy for a shot while... But it turns into an ocean whose tides never stop beating... So remember just stay strong, and dont get discouraged if you feel broken... We all feel broken, thats why we came to Christ :)

#2, dont burn yourself out...
This is more speaking on personality, trust in Christ, and Commitment... But if you dive strait into the deep end of the pool without knowing how to swim, you might get tired quickly and drowned.

3#, dont glorify anyone...
This is a hard one when it comes to your pastor, or that one old dude at church that knows a lot... It can get to a point where you rely on more on their opinion about stuff... Instead of worrying about Gods opinion.

4#, remember we are all sinners...
There will come a time where you look at someone and think that they are so evil that they could never know Christ... Just remember it only takes one sin, to tear you from God, so we are all in the same boat!

5#, Never stop praying...
This is the hardest one for me, but it the most vital. Just keep praying about everything... I have so many stories of miracles through prayer... God was really amazing to me :) and still is! But unfortunately my end has been slacking...

#6, Worldly misconceptions...
When reading the bible you will be at an impasse... Where a certain church, person, group, or society has a belief that makes you question the Bible... You will have to come to your own realization that the Bible is correct and the world is wrong. Examples are such as abortion... God getting angry at people... Eternal punishment... and so on...
Everyone comes to the realization that the Bible is correct at some point in time...

I hope that eye in the sky is higher than how high a ladybug flies? lol

(BTW, many road trips with this as the background music. Thanks for the memories.)

Traditionally speaking, it's common practice among Christians that men mentor men and women mentor women. Downright biblical if you take Titus 2 to heart, so not many of us are going to get up in arms over a guy wanting a guy.

That said, I remember someone saying this to you before, and I think whoever that was gave sound advice. You really could use a mentor. I do not think it's a good idea to get a mentor through advertising online though. I've been on this site for about a year now, (quit for three months and took a new username so hard to tell), and thought I could trust some I couldn't trust. I've seen some teaching stuff I totally agreed with only to later find out they're about 10 degrees off course and miles away from that exit now. I've seen people who can maintain an air of kindness for months until someone riled them and then pitbulls would let go of their prey before those people. And even when you do find a good mentor, what happens when that person has enough of that site? Or that person has some family/friend/life issues that pulls him away for months? Or how about something as simple as his computer/tablet/cellphone breaks and he can't afford another one? People simply disappear without giving anyone a heads up. Sometimes they come back and tell what happen. (Only been here a year, so don't know how often that happens.)

You do need a mentor. I've seen you trucking down some questionable paths that I distinctly remember falling for too when I was new in the Lord. BUT you just can't advertise for one online. You need one in real life. Someone you can talk with face-to-face because communications is usually a combination of voice and body language. Someone that others have trusted for years/decades and not just from the church they go to. From others in the Christian community that don't go to that church. And really important -- someone with a firm sense of God and his word.

My denomination does that the old-fashioned way. Our elders have master and/or doctrinal degrees. They need a bachelor's degree in something else for a rounded education first. (Or they come out of a career to become elders.) But most churches don't require an education first, so you have to find someone who spent the time studying the Word on his own. The Word -- not End Time theories, speaking in tongues proves salvation, and things like that. You need someone you can trust, but being so new to all this you have to find that person with the same mindset you'd want if you were getting a real estate agent to find a house for you. It has to be a business decision, not an emotional decision.

I would like a local mentor. My church seems to have all I need but mentoring. I'm getting kinda frustrated over it. I've asked some of the men in my church and they agree that I need a mentor. However, each one has said one reason or another where they can't do so. I may need to find another church. A church that actually nurtures their new Christians they have a disciple class but it's for all the men and women in the church at once. Which means dozens of people being taught all at once instead of small classes being shown how to mature in the faith.

That is a very wise idea.
