Even this topic started arguments?!?! Goodness guys
Does that surprise you? Any time a topic of which bible comes up the KJV only people flock to it and start saying things like perverted or heretic or false bible. It is quite amusing
And yet, you have nothing to defend. You hold nothing in your hands that your 100% confident enough in to defend.
What would one expect with multiple versions that contain different words and even different teachings.
The spider taketh hold with her hands,
and is in kings' palaces.
(Proverbs 30:28, KJV)
"spider ((??))"
Strong's Hebrew 8079, "semamith"
definition: a lizard
usage in KJV: a spider
NAS concordance definition: a lizard.
Brown-Driver-Briggs definition: a lizard
The lizard you may grasp with the hands,
Yet it is in kings' palaces.
(Proverbs 30:28, NASB)
. . . and i love spiders. i really do. i wish it were so, that this word means "spider" -- but it is not. the KJV is in error here.
Ah, Well it seems you have risen above it![]()
Yeah seem to be doing well. Had the surgery and 4 rounds of chemo. Quit the chemo and now doing more natural.
I think that some people can truly me ashamed of themselves on here. If Jesus would have taught like some people talk here not one person would have come to him. Stop being Pharisees and start seeing that we are supposed to be a functioning body that works together to stand before the Lord without blemish. Where is the loving our neighbor?
Where is the respect and love towards Gods commandments? People calling each other NAMES because of bible translations? Seriously? Then people wonder why people laugh at us Christians. If we cannot even love and respect and serve one another how are we supposed to serve those who dont believe in God?

[TABLE="class: maintable3, width: 100%"]I have two different bibles at this time. The NIV and a Life Application Study Bible. I like using the study bible because it has all sorts of notes and cross references listed and book overviews. I was wondering does it matter the kind of Bible you use, or is it more of a preference thing?

[TD]JOHN 7:8You go to the festival. I am not going up to this festival, because my time has not yet fully come."
New International Version
You go on. I'm not going to this festival, because my time has not yet come."
You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come.”
Go up to the feast on your own. I am not going up to this feast, because My time has not yet come."
You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast, for My time has not yet been fulfilled."
"Go up to the feast yourselves; I do not go up to this feast because My time has not yet fully come."
Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.
Go up to the festival yourselves. I'm not going up to the festival yet, because My time has not yet fully come."
Go up to the festival yourselves. I am not going to this festival yet, because my time hasn't fully come yet."
You go up to the feast yourselves. I am not going up to this feast because my time has not yet fully arrived."
“You go up to this feast; I am not going up now to this feast, because my time is not yet finished.”
Go to the festival. I'm not going to this festival right now. Now is not the right time for me to go."
“Go up to the feast yourselves; I do not go up to this feast because My time has not yet fully come.”
Go ye up unto this feast; I go not up yet unto this feast, for my time is not yet fulfilled.
Go you up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet fully come.
Go you up to this feast: I go not up yet to this feast: for my time is not yet full come.
Go ye up unto the feast: I go not up unto this feast; because my time is not yet fulfilled.
Go you up to this festival day, but I go not up to this festival day: because my time is not accomplished.
Ye, go ye up to this feast. I go not up to this feast, for my time is not yet fulfilled.
Go ye up unto the feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; because my time is not yet fulfilled.
Go ye up to this feast: I go not yet to this feast, for my time is not yet full come.
As for you, go up to the Festival. I do not now go up to this Festival, because my time is not yet fully come."
You go up to the feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, because my time is not yet fulfilled."
Ye -- go ye up to this feast; I do not yet go up to this feast, because my time hath not yet been fulfilled;'
rdbseekingafterhim,
You will note that in some of the ~bibles~ listed above, Jesus says he will not be going to the festival while in others Jesus says I will not yet go to the festival.
This discrepancy has led some unbelievers to say that Jesus lied and has given credibility to the belief that the bible has error(s).
So, yes - it matters what ~version~ you read.
