Are we meant to look after our health, do we have a duty to look after our God given bodies to the best of our ability? Would it be wrong to take drugs and abuse our health so that we are less able to be a light for God?

1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1Co 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Are the Dietary Laws from God? New or old testament, before Christ or not they are still from God, right?
If God gave the dietary laws and God knows what is best for our health we can conclude that those laws are good for us.
Science today is proving that what God taught 4000 and more years ago is the best for us.
If it is a sin to defile our bodies and God gave laws that define healthy and unhealthy foods, should we listen?

Jud 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jud 1:5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
Jud 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Jud 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Jud 1:8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Jud 1:11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
Jud 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
Jud 1:13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

Jud 1:16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
Jud 1:17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Jud 1:18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

ahhh Just read the whole book :)

PS this is about people who call themselves Christians who have crept into the church.

Just one reason Why God said not to eat Pigs.
Since the pig’s digestive system operates rather basically, many toxins remain in their system to be stored in their more than adequate fatty tissues ready for your consumption. The pig also
doesn’t have any sweat glands. Sweat glands are a tool the body uses to be rid of toxins. This leaves more toxins in the pig’s body.

Also, pigs were created to be scavengers. They have a purpose, just like other scavengers on land and in the sea. They clean up! How brilliant is our Creator! Pigs are for clean-up, not food.

From what little this hillbilly knows about pigs, they are capable of eating just about anything, even a moccasin (water), without being harmed. I have been taught that pigs have glands that secrete any poisons that may enter into their organisms.

The only thing I have ever heard that is truly bad about eating pork products is that pigs sometimes have worms in a condition called trichanosis. (spelling) If pork is not cooked well, people have been known to be contaminated with this terrible condition..........

Perhaps the experts on diet would be well served in considering the variables but first and foremost the Word of God on the subject.

Yes I am well aware Jesus said that, He got it from the Old testament, which clearly you are unaware of. I would show you the multiple places its taught in the law, but you would call that tactics so I wont bother.

Ill stop there as I don't want to overtax you with a few minutes of reading.
Interesting, that you have bothered to type several sentences to say that you could find that but you will not bother.

It would probably be some large collaborate without any verse actually proving it, I suppose.

Why would an all-knowing God make (healthy) dietary laws and then tell His Son to go and change that? Did He change His mind about pork chops?
Is eating pork chops unhealthy?

I mean, if the purpose of the law is to implement a healthy diet, the law makes sense. Pigs are filthy animals that eat anything in front of them (but so do goats and yet they aren't prohibited). Killing and eating a pig would be a risk to health. But one must consider that food processing is different now than it was then. Nobody is simply killing a pig, cooking it over an open flame and eating it. Typical pigs raised for eating are raised in factories, fed controlled diets, and processed using modern food processing techniques. Talking about eating pigs today and eating pigs 3,000 years ago is not the same because methods of farming and processing are completely different.

Maybe God doesn't know about food processing though? Or maybe God just implements arbitrary laws and the prohibition on eating pork has no real purpose?

Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Many Christians believe Jesus came to make a NEW RELIGION, but if He or His disciples and apostles changed The WORD, then they have done it by their own human effort and the changes are not of GOD, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 4:2
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminishought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Deuteronomy 12:32
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Matthew 23:
1Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, 2Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: 3All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

Matthew 5:18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Jesus has not yet fulfilled the Fall Feasts (Leviticus 23), therefore heaven and earth have not passed away and the law still stands and we are to observe the FOREVER instructions, including the dietary laws, the Sabbaths, and God's Feasts (which are memorials and for rehearsals). Everything in the Torah is not applicable today, but none the less they are on the books, and in Ezekiel we see those temple and priests duties are on going.

My hearts desire as a saved soul of Jesus Christ is to love God, Jesus and my friends, family, and my neighbor in a way that pleases God and Jesus. Through the Holy Spirit, I desire to know what exactly is to be written on my heart and how to live my life. Once the scales fell from my eyes I saw the whole Bible is applicable to our lives, I have a greater understanding of what Jesus taught, and I am grafted in and am HEBREW (crossed over from darkness to light).

I am BLESSED, SAVED and JOYFULLY GROWING IN GRACE AND TORAH.

Psalms 28:7
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

***Torah = teachings and instructions how to live set apart lives for all Israel. I was grafted in. I am adopted. MY Father's rules apply. I am of the commonwealth of Israel.

I'm pretty sure that is talking about spiritual defiling, and spiritual destruction of God's temple. I don't believe it has anything to do with our bodies, and what we do to them physically.

If it was talking about physical, then we as Christians should do NOTHING that possibly COULD harm our bodies. We would have to be like the bubble-boy, never touching, never experiencing life. Drive a car? Nope. The odds of you being in an accident, that will harm your body, are pretty high. That's a risk we shouldn't take, so we won't harm our bodies....

See how far off the edge we can go with this? It's more plainly stated later in that letter, in chapter 6..

[SUP]18 [/SUP]Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin[SUP][e][/SUP] a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, [SUP]20 [/SUP]for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Hello WarriorForChrist,

I know how you feel. Have you put him on your ignore list? If you do, then you will never have to see anything that he posts.

I won't put you ignore. I like hearing what you have to say. It seems to me Warrior for Christ likes putting people on his ignore list. I like hearing everyone's opinions.

i know that God doesn't change and although our times have changed i'm sure the reason why God gave the dietary health principles haven't changed. The world has become more diseased and more sick over the last 4000 years so the principles are even more important today than back in Moses's day. research it yourself and you will see scientific reasons behind the principles that God gave. Is God's counsel more important or are your pock chops to tasty to give up.

It may not be salvational but i know God wants me to be healthy Spiritually, mentally and physically, because they all affect each other.

God Himself prophesied (Genesis 9:3) that some day everything that crawls on the ground would no longer be religiously wrong to eat, just as He gave us the green herb. In Peter's vision God told him to eat pig, Peter replied it was unclean, God replied not to call unclean what God has made clean. We are no longer under Moses but under Christ (Romans 7:1-4). And under Christ it is not religiously wrong to eat pork, just as it is not religiously wrong for a Gentile to be a genuine child of God.

This is because the law is no longer physical but spiritual. Christ nailed the physical way to the cross. This does not mean God changed His mind- just that He's doing the same thing in a different way. Actually the old way was not the real way. It was only a shadow of the real way that was to come with Christ. To God what is spiritual is more real than what is physical- which makes sense, because spiritual can exist without physical, but physical cannot exist without spiritual.

Colossians 2:17- These were a SHADOW of things to come, the REALITY however is found in Christ.

I think that the problem for some people is, that you are still repeating your errors in new and new threads, even though Scriptures and history records were shown to you that you are wrong :)

For me, it does not matter, its good to be practising the faith. But some others dont want to read the same errors over and over again.

You can stay in the threads you have already created about your law business. Why to have 10 of them?
