It is sad, If not for Laurens post, I never would have seen this. I started to read this post a few days ago. And stopped. Because I consider angela a good friend, and even in a few of my emails to some good people concerning this thread (which I still can not believe people are posting in, because it is a hate thread through and through) And then sadly I had to see this a few minutes ago.

Angela. When have I ever said people are not allowed to post what the bible says? That was not my beef with this thread, and the many attack threads people have been posting over the past few weeks and months.

If this thread was about repentance, as I said there would be no complaint, But it was not, It was a thread hidden in disguise as another attack on hypergrace. That was the sole purpose of this thread. Most people have realized this.

You should know better than that Angela. I know you are in a lot of pain, and I know things are rough, so I gave you the benefit of the doubt and leeway, But this is bad. If I am a parrot for condemning an attack thread disguised as an actual bible discussion thread. What does that make you?

You need to read posts Angela.. Hyper grace is your gospel to. Just because they may have a few different terms, or interpret things differently than you do. does not mean they do not believe as you do (unless you somehow changed and went legalist on me since last we spoke)

Stop listening to these anti hypergrace people. They have fed you a bunch of stuff which they got from biased people. Not from the people themselves.

I do not agree with everything a particular group may say, But their gospel is no different than ours THEY ARE NOT TELLING PEOPLE IT IS OK TO SIN ALL YOU WANT.

That is a strawman of a few select people who have been attacking others in this thread lately.

What is even sadder, is that the avacodo egg remark had nothing to do with repentance, so you just false accused a brother and sister in Christ, I pray you do what I know you have in you and repent and confess this sin. Maybe you did not see this.

I will not warn you of anything, I still consider you my sister in Christ, But please I beg of you. Stop..

people need to remember this is a public forum, not a church, not a seminar and not anyone's private platform

when someone addresses others with the supposed 'voice of God' as Angela did, and was completely wrong in her assessment, it must be very hard to say I'm sorry

I've known a number of people with that attitude and the best thing is to let it go

I addressed her in this thread as this is where she made her accusations

her post is so over the top, I can only shake my head at it

should she apologize? yes, she should

sometimes you think you know someone, as you say, and then they pull out a whole other personality or maybe they change

there are people on this forum who use very strong words and have a very high opinion of themselves. again, this is a forum and not a church

it's water off a duck's back as far as I am concerned

her indignation and false charges are her problem. not mine, and not yours

Cee, hi, I am interested in something you said because I see it differently.
You say God saved your spirit.
Do you think you were born with a spirit?
I'd like to hear more about this. I have thought that I was born without a spirit until I received Gods' Spirit...
I'm no theologian, don't worry, just curious! :)

If you do a study on soul and spirit, you will find the two terms are interchanged.
The spirit of an individual is their essence. Every living thing has its essence or they
would not be alive.

For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
1 Cor 2:11

There is definitely a difference between spirit and soul. They are interconnected but they have different purposes.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV)
[SUP]23 [/SUP]
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 4:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Luke 1:46-47 (NASB)
[SUP]46 [/SUP] And Mary said: "My soul exalts the Lord,

[SUP]47 [/SUP] And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

The worldly and humanistic view is that the spirit is just an attitude that a person has.

The truth is we are a spirit, ( as God is a spirit and we are made in His likeness ) we have a soul and we live in a body.

Interesting. Some of scripture talks about people having a happy spirit or and sad spirit.

This implies they are talking about ones emotions. For me I am what I am, and I do not care
what name or label you put on things. God loves me, and that is good enough for me.

The truth is we are a spirit

I would regard this as new age mysticism and heresy.

As soon as you start down this road you can be born in heaven and put in a human body.
Once saved you become eternal, impossible to destroy. When the body dies your spirit
returns to the Father. Now you can see passages that talk about the souls of the dead
but not the spirits of the dead.

You do get possessions by spirits. So if you say we are spirits also, in a vessel of a body
that would suggest we can be cast out and replaced. As this appears impossible.

Paul talks about being with believers in his spirit, but he did not mean astral travelling to
the room in which they are meeting. Some occult and new age people believe this is
actually possible.

Hebrews 12:22-23 (NASB)

[SUP]22 [/SUP] But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels,

[SUP]23 [/SUP] to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,

made perfect = perfect passive - which means it is in a completed state continuously happening in the present from an event in the past and passive means that it is something that was done to you - you didn't do it.

We have a great salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ!

I have wondered if our confusion over it comes from knowing that satan somehow is eternal, and then thinking we must be too...
I think he somehow has eternal life in himself. He has existed for a long time, even after defying God. But God didn't let that happen with us and they died on the day they ate that fruit so that they COULDN'T live forever in their state of disobedience...

I somehow seem to think that satan will live in eternal torment but that men will just be destroyed, both body and soul. Because we don't have eternal life within us until the new birth with the Spirit of God.

We all inherit a dead spirit from adam, when we are saved it is made alive and merged with the spirit of Jesus. That we have a spirit is not mysticism, it's biblical. 2 Tim 4:22, Pro 20:27, John 3:6, 2 Tim 1:7, Rom 8:15 and literally at least dozens of other verses. We are made in God's image as triune beings flesh, soul and spirit.

I agree here with you about the spirit of man and being made after the image of God. Man definitely is a spirit in his/her nature on the inside which will be evident when we die and "we" go to be with the Lord.

The flesh part though I believe only applies to Jesus as He is our representative now in heaven. The Father does have a bodily like form as He has hands and a face..etc. But it is all spiritual in nature and not real flesh like our bodies.

What are your thoughts on this?

Ah! Actually, it is Romans 8:16 that finally did it for me - the verse after the one you gave!
Thank you so much nook! I know that took some of your time to help me.
And I have never heard it phrased this way - that we inherit a dead spirit from Adam - but it makes sense because death spread from him to us.
I can't thank you enough, brother!

I should be more clear, I apologize. I meant we are triune beings like God. God the Father, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit, 3 distinct beings 1 God.

Spirit, like all terminology, is used in various ways as a careful study of the terminology reveals clearly. It has to be interpreted in context (eg 1Cor.2.11-12). The point in 1 Cor 2 is that there is 'the spirit of the world' in unbelievers, which is wrong, and the spirit of God in believers, made alive by God's Spirit. The former does not receive the things of the Spirit of God (v 14). It is a totally different spirit and it is not the psuche.

In 2 Cor 2.13 it is used differently

Christ was slain from the foundations of the world, which to me says the moment God thought it, it was done, and He knew who was in Christ from the beginning, that means WE can look back to the beginning and find ourselves in Him. Because God knew who would receive Him already.

I believe are spirit dies and is reborn on conversion. Why? Because our soul doesn't it needs to be renewed and our body doesn't either.

I do not believe the soul is eternal. Scripture says it will die if it sins. And Jesus fear the one who can destroy it.

So what are we repenting to? And what part of us is repenting? Does our spirit have eyes to see Him, is this the eyes of our heart? I'm not sure, but I believe there is a very real reality being expressed when Scripture refers to us as in Christ and being His Body, Paul even says each part of the Body is needed, and Paul says he is building on the cornerstone of Christ, also Scripture says we have the mind of Christ, I wonder if it's saying we all share a mind in unity, which would be Holy Spirit. That's how we are One in Him. These are just some thoughts nothing totally concrete yet.

Here is the way I see it.. What Christ did in the temporal realm was a eternal act .. eternal has no limits of our understanding of time ... God has never limited Himself or His truth to the temporal realm ...satan is the god of this temporal age

So when its written He was the Lamb offered before the foundation of the world (age) ...God had the whole thing set in place in eternity before he even made the world
