I don't think you can half-step here chief.
if you say you have been crucified with Messiah, your old man should be dead, and the man that lives in you now is Messiah. Messiah is perfect. He does not stumble.
==============================================

I like the way you have expressed this, but in Jesus' Reality, it is truly a life-long process of 'over-coming' -
there is absolutely no human being that can become a perfect image of Him in the twinkling of an eye...

Christians live by faith in Jesus Christ, not by "instructions".

Do you know why??

Because we have been crucified with Christ and we no longer live, but Christ lives in us. And the life we now live in the body, we live by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and who gave Himself for us. (ref. Gal. 2:20)

Absolutely, righteousness does not come through the law, Torah, instructions. The law, Torah, instructions never produced salvation. But does that mean we throw the baby out with the bath water? (Please know Torah is a light on our path. God did not save us so we could walk in darkness.

Psalm 19:8
The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Psalm 119:130
The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

Proverbs 10:17
He is on the path of life who heeds instruction, But he who ignores reproof goes astray.

Proverbs 6:22When you walk about, they will guide you; When you sleep, they will watch over you; And when you awake, they will talk to you. 23For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light; And reproofs for discipline are the way of life

John 8:12
Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life."

John 3:20Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever practices the truth comes intothe Light, so that it may be clearly seen that what hehas done has been accomplished in God.”

So what is truth?

Psalms 119:
141I am small and despised, Yet I do not forget Your precepts. 142Your righteousness is an everlastingrighteousness, And Your law is truth. 143Trouble and anguish have come upon me, Yet Your commandments are my delight.…

We don't throw out anything. But God does....when it becomes obsolete.

Jesus is the Light for our path. Jesus fulfilled the law and the law was a mere shadow of the real substance which is Christ Himself. Substitute Jesus for the law, precepts, ordinances in the Old Covenant and the scripture will come alive to you because of Jesus.

Jesus said to the religious people of His day. "You search the scriptures because you think "in them" you have eternal life but they testify of Me and you won't come to me so that you may have life." John 5:39-40

The scriptures are not God - they are to lead us to Jesus only and not be a "life" unto themselves. Jesus is the real living word of God.

Let's be honest. As humans, one of our biggest fears is death.
The wages of sin is death. Sin brings death.
But when the Savior took our place, and paid the penalty we could not pay, the fear of death should be removed.
At this point, we don't obey God for fear of death, but we obey God because we love Him, and His instructions are righteous.

See Romans 6:13-16

acts 9:31 "
Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

matthew 24:48-51 " But suppose the servant is wicked and says to himself, my master is taking a long time in coming and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards the master of that servant will come when He does not expect him at an hour he isn't aware of He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

clearly A lesson concerning Jesus second coming (v 36-39) clearly all servants are obeying to begin with yet the one servant begins then to disobey, both are servants the wise and faithful servant ( v 46) is rewarded, the wicked servant is "cut to pieces and assigned a place with the hypocrites a place of weeping and gnashing of teeth"

mtthew 13:40-43 "“As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear."

again clearly judgement day, " the harvest " in v 39. "he will weed out of His kingdom all who do evil and everything that causes sin." they will be thrown into the blazing furnace again weeping and gnashing of teeth."

matt. 25:45-46 "…Then the King will answer, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.’ And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

clearly again the return of Jesus, judgement day, not this, those he sends away to eternal punishment here, performed miracles and drove out demons in Jesus name, so oibviously they believed at some point. and yet, because they did not do the right things, they end up in ETERNAL punishment. again...they prophecied and drove out demons in jesus name so they did believe, they are sent to hell for their ACTIONS. fear is a good thing if a person isn't following Jesus, hes the only way to avoid that eternal punishment.

luke 13 :23-30 "Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”He said to them, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
“But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
“Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
“But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’

“There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”

there is truly a good purpose in fearing the Lord God almighty, that's why its designed in his word like it is with all the true warnings, fear keeps the walk straight, not "afraid of" fear, but reverant fear that we are instructed to walk in when our love for Goid is perfect all fear is gone, until then fear is part of a godly walk

Naw. It's not being afraid of God that produces the love for Him and our neighbors that fulfills the law. It's His love for us that begets love from us.

Now what believer in his right mind would reject the Holy Spirit?
What does it look like when the Holy Spirit dwells within a person? Does it produce a result of some kind?

praise the One who removed the condemnation and the penalty of death, taking it upon Himself!!

It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean;
for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

we are free now, and have a wedding to prepare for -- so like any bride-to-be, let us take thought for our dress :D

I see that a little differently . We fear him because with Him there is forgiveness, in our new forgiven lives. He has no need to use scare tactics. Its good news. If he begun His good work of salvation we can be absolutely confidence he will finish it to the very end.

If he would take into account even one sin the eternal wage is still due. The gift must equal the wage .or other wise we do despite to His grace according to His labor of love . There is no limbo in between .Mercy always triumphs over judgement.

Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.Psa 130:8

We are not under the Law anymore! We are under Grace!

So why disciplemike are you trying to keep the Law? Do you not understand keeping the Law cannot save you?

Its the Holy Spirit that teaches us all the Truths from God. If you do not have the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit you do not have any Truths in you.

Without the Holy Spirit you cannot see nor understand any of the Truths in the Scriptures.

well, I have been through this a dozen times here.
my own righteousness CAN NOT earn eternal salvation.
I am saved by grace through faith, and that is a gift of God, not of works, so I can't boast.

now, with that settled, I just need to work at becoming more like the Messiah.
yes, work. study, prayer, conforming my thoughts, controlling my words and actions,... it takes effort.
Not work so I can help out with my salvation - that is already paid for.

Now, I have a real problem with easy-believism, where I repeat a "sinner's prayer" and "poof", I am working like the apostle Sha-ul.
Don't happen that way chief.

Right. It's contrasting the lost with the saved. Which is why you need to be freed from the Law of sin and death or else you're toast. What the Law could not do, Christ did.

You would say that, because of your false grace teaching.
But it contasts the Spirit minded Christians from the carnal minded Christians.

There is no fear for Christians who believe the Bible, as it tells us where we are going.

Well you either submit to the leadership of Messiah - which is righteousness,
or you don't always submit to the leadership which leads to a state of less than righteousness.
But make no mistake, you have to make the choices as long as you are in this physical body.
Here is a good place to insert this information about "righteousness" When we accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, HE then GAVE us as a GIFT - His righteousness. Our standing completely changed taking us OUT of sin and putting us IN HIS Righteousness. We do not earn this gift of righteousness., it is HIS to GIVE and ours once we receive. This gift is IRREVOCABLE because once you received it., you were changed and put IN HIS Righteousness made into a new born again person no longer born into Adam but now changed and born again IN Christ.

Submitting after that is walking out our righteous standing.

You cannot be anymore righteous than you are when you become born again IN Christ. Your standing has totally changed. You are now a son
