a little closer to three trillion but still the principle remains the same - he did deficits don't matter and so did Cheney

Well a deficit that is a small fraction of GDP is a big difference from what we see now.

We try to be a bit more subtle because people will call you a racist if you tell them things are a lot worse off since 1994. The excuse is apartheid and inflation but please don't criticize the government of the time.

In order for principles to be of any value they must be applied on a uniform basis - since right wingers had no objection to Reagan/Bush I/Bush II deficits, they cannot possibly object to Obama deficits. And just a reminder that Obama asked Congressional Republicans to close all foreign tax shelters which they refused to do. Therefore, they get much of the blame for the debt.

During the 80s the Rand was stronger than the US Dollar but today we are paying more than R15 for a dollar. A blind person can see this is not inflation but miss management but the masses can be manipulated by fear. Just look at our friends in Zimbabwe and you will see that fear is a big motivater.

Yea ...South Africa was a contradiction in many ways ..but it was wealthy and the people was better off overall under that government economically. I wonder if the PC world will ever really be able to look at that situation in a honest way? Its kinda like Obama ..no one wants to admit he is a utter failure because he is black...but they reject the black folks that could lead us, because they don't walk around with a chip on their shoulder.

Have you heard how Trump won the nomination or about the Tea Party ...both are a rejection of Bush in large part.

I post on four websites with only one being lib. The rest are right wing. All act as if Bush was the closest thing to the long awaited Messiah. And, like so many here, they absolutely h@te it when it is proven that he was a dismal failure.

Besides, my best pal is a right winger. He knows better than to try to debate me in politics. ;)

Tea Party was a rejection of Obama, not Bush.

Trump won because he showed lots of guts and because he tore up his opposition. Remember that Jeb Bush started out way ahead, then Cruz took the lead. But he overcame them both with his strong arm tactics. But what makes it all even more ironic is how Trump was always viewed as a lib until now (see my earlier post with all those quotes from right wingers).

How interesting that up to just a couple of years ago he was a lib but is now champion of the right. What a turn around!
