My dear brother in Christ,
You are drawing scripture out of context, i.e. "Judas went out and hung himself", Jesus said "go ye and do likewise" and he also said "whatsoever thou doest, do quickly". Now using scripture, I've just proven that we should all go out and hang ourselves.
Think how senseless this argument is. You are being dogmatic in one point and don't have proper scripture backing. As Timothy said, we have to rightly divide the word. The Old Testament is not irrelevant. Also, if you are referring to the law, Paul said that if you break just one part of the law you are guilty of breaking all the law.

My brother you have been deceived. Go to the Lord and ask His will and do not be put under bondage by the legalism of man.

Yay I'm finally free from this legalistic church that has been binding me I can now worship and praise God in how I see fit.... I feel like God will be exalted and praised most by me going on a killing spree, I will start first with the members of the legalistic church which bound me and then I will go on to the public school and worship God there with a bomb and on to malls and stadiums spreading my worship of God to all areas .................. Proverbs 14:12 Jeremiah 10:23 .... Man is not to direct his own steps but to follow in the footsteps of Jesus through his word

Caution my friend. This type of post will get you a visit from men in black suits and will take you for many hours of questioning. I'm serious, please be carful.

Wacko reported.

I don't think God really cares...if he did why did he create cherubin and seraphim and even lucifer with all the music instruments on his body to play before Him? Heck Revelation has angels blasting trumpets both on Earth and in Heaven....what about that for a NT example.....
This whole topic is just legalism....it is pointless....do you not use your cell phone because it is not in the Bible? no....

If you are mute you sign the song, just because your mute doesn't excuse you from sin(like not having arms doesn't mean you don't have to eat of the lords supper because you can't reach it) ........... Use your gift by playing in public and gathering a crowd the talk about the bible to them or give them flyers for bible study (God won't get glory from you using your gift to the contrary of His word)

That verse isn't telling you to not use your talents for God...
I'm sorry, but many times people look at verses and look TOO far in and come up with crazy things...
I believe this is one of those times

I'm thinking someone out there is writing a book called 'I was a teenage troll on christian chat sites'.

Listen,
Does God really need to write done every single little thing we can't do?
Maybe just maybe he thought we were intelligent enough to figure out that of you use something to glorify Him it's good?
Maybe that's why you can't find passages about being aloud to use intruments in worship or passages about not bring able to use them

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.

-1 Corin. 12: 4-6

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

~1st Peter 4: 10-11

Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith

Romans 12:6

If he was, I hope he at least got paid....it would be sad if it were some 50yo guy living with his mom in the basement.....

No where in the bible does it say we can use instruments so no you can't.... Use sign language to communicate (I went to a lesson tonight where the preachers wife was deaf and he signed to she while a guest speaker preached) you can't tap feet as an addition to the music ... No you can't hum with your nose .... The bible only specifys singing

I can only shake my head in sadness at the finitude of your expression. Are you allowed to smell flowers? Encourage a child to play? Enjoy a home-cooked meal made with spices? No, because your shackled interpretation of Scripture calls all these sin.

I believe this is a sin... I am a member of a church of Christ and I believe since we are no longer under the old law (Colossians 2:14) we only do things under the new law which doesn't permit us to use instrumental music.... If you disagree please comment?

I hope you know it wasn't necessary to tell us you are CoC. I'm pretty sure that is the only sad little group that has fabricated such a restriction to worshiping God.

Nor does the Bible say to use microphones, A/C, bathrooms, pews, electric lights, collection plates, communion equipment, water fountains, etc. The phony excuse of "Necessary Inference" was only dreamed up to get around your own "Laws"... just like the Jews do in so many incidents.

Oh goodness every time I think Ive seen everything someone prooves me wrong haha! Soo lets look at some bible verses about music shall we?
Psalm 49:4

4 I will turn my ear to a proverb; with the harp I will expound my riddle:

Psalm 150
Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
Amos 6:5

5 You strum away on your harps like David and improvise on musical instruments

And here are MANY MANY more http://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Music

A distinction without a difference? ;)

Sorry, my wife told me to understand, and overlook what you may be going through. So, I can't, in good conscience, play that game anymore.
Why don't you or your wife just have the courage to talk to me straight up instead of throwing around your little insinuations and snide remarks. Perhaps your good conscience will help you see believers in Jesus as family to be embraced, not outcasts to be rumoured and snickered about?

How do you know he is a false prophet. Just because you don't agree with what he said? You don't even know who he was. I don't understand this whole new law and old law thing. From what I know after Jesus was crucified and resurrected we were free things we weren't able to do before not the the other way around. Such as in Acts chapter 10.

Sorry, should've posted this with my last post
Thought so, but that's OK, it made sense. Am thinking Sir Derp is either sadly deceived by a legalistic or abusive church, or is just goading us into nonsense. Some people get their kicks that way.
