For the last few months i have been quite depressed because of personal situations (yes that is plural). I just want to publically thank the Holy Spirit for speaking through my good friend "madparrotwoman" and pulling me out of my slump.

Because of this depression God has not allowed me to write much, let alone comment much on here. Because of MPW's gentle "reprimanding" of me through some harsh words (nothing vulgar) she has helped me see my folly in drawing inward instead of outward to God. For those who know me that may sound kind of odd but depression is one of satans greatest weapons against us. Depression draws us inward away from God which is what he wants so to take our focus off of God and put it on self. I know better than this but i did it anyway.

Through her encouragement and her prayers i am back on track. Yes all the things are still there but i can move forward again knowing that God is in control and my life is in His hands (yeah i know this also but ignored it due to depression).

I have a "new" Bible study posted called "Revisiting the Attributes of God". It is one of my favorite studies as it helps me to put things in perspective. If you might be looking for a "true" Bible stidy i encourage you to join me in growing closer to God.

Again thank you MPW! I love you my dear sister in Christ! Good Christian friend are something we should hold close to our heart. The definition of "good Christian friends" is....Madparrotwoman!!! I have never seen such a good display of "constructive critisism" as the way my dear sister spoke to me. I cannot thank her enough.

Hmmm....maybe if i can buy her another parrot :)

thanks be to God! the body of Christ is at work!

I live in Pennsylvania, Western part. Many of us that live here don't take heat well. When it's 55 here, which is usually right after winter, people wear shorts, car windows down. When it's 65 right after winter, it's warming up out there, then it's the end of June, one day you walk outside it's 90 degrees, oh wow, what happened? I think I might die, we can't go outside it's to hot. Then after we swelter for a few day's, bam it's 70 degrees again, oh my gosh it's cold, what's going on!? The apocalypse? What happened to Summer? Then it's 85 degrees and humid. Wow! We say, what the heck, boy it's just to hot today.

Then we have this bleep of Fall. At first, oh I love fall, look at the leaves and the pumpkins and the cute fall decorations! Wait is that pumpkin spice I smell? Oh I just love the crunchy leaves. October 25, wow, weatherman say's chance of snow. What!?? Where is that weatherman, who is that weatherman, can I yell at him? Snow, no way! Snow's a little, maybe Halloween, I remember the Halloween when I had to wear a snow suit.

November, oh wow it's really wet out there, everything is brown and gross. It's only 50 degrees today. Two days later, oh it's Thanksgiving and it's 68 degree's out, wow this is fabulous, oh I just love this weather!!

December first, oh boy, did ya see that little bit of snow on the ground? December 12, Mom, I lost a glove and it's 18 degrees outside, wait I'll look, just digging the car put, we got plowed in again. Me and kid's, please cancel school, please cancel school, of course they don't cancel school.

December 25, oh, snow for Christmas how happy and wonderful.

February, halfway point, winter's almost over. February 25th, my birthday, In other news today, it's Jen's birthday, so we're going to have the biggest snow storm so far this winter.

March 29th, it can stop snowing now!!!

April 28th, oh my gosh it's 40 degrees, can we get the pool ready???

The above is true!!!!

Oh cool! Hello fellow Pennsylvanian! I do like the change of seasons and eventually I'd like to go west, but I will miss the lake.

What did you think of that crazy budget this year?? ?

Do you like a good Smith's hot dog or Pirmanti brothers sandwich?

I was just in Erie last week with my kids for vacation. I live 15 miles north of Pittsburgh.

I know its a sin (lol) but i am one of those rare Pittsburghers who dont like the Primanti sandwich. I like my fries and coleslaw on the side not on my sandwich.

The budget? Well not much we can do about it. I am not sure i would do what they did but...oh well.

Erie is a great place to be in the summer. I hope you visited Waldameer, it's fun.

I don't like Pirmanti sandwiches either, kind of gross. I like Pittsburgh, it's a beautiful city, had different boyfriend's from that area at one time or another. That was years ago. One from Ambridge and another from Zelinople and got to know the area well. I even managed to find my way around Pittsburgh pretty well. I think I deserve a medal for that.

Haha yes you deserve a medal for finding your way around the city! It is one of the most confusing cities to get around.

My kids did not want to go to Waldameer this year. Instead we hung out on Presque Isle beach 11 and rode bikes. My dads new wife has a house 10 miles east off of route 5 so we were able to stay there.

I'm from Philadelphia but now reside in Central Texas. I do miss the four beautiful seasons back East. Though I don't so much miss the brutal icy winters when I had to get up at the break of dawn to dig my car out of 2" of ice every morning before work. Ugh! :p LOL!!

Autumn was my favorite season back in PA... with the crisp cool air, wrapping myself in a warm sweater, walking down the street under a canopy of gorgeous trees, their golden and scarlet leaves falling, going to the apple orchards... ahhhhhhh. I do miss that.

You are correct, Kody. I should clarify that I don't miss chipping & shoveling the ice out of the driveway every morning and scraping the car's windshield & side windows for a half hour before work. But I sure did love walking in the snow!! In fact, the last huge snowstorm we had while I was in PA, I lived in a town right outside Philly. Work was called off because most of the roads were impassable. So I tied on my hiking boots, marched down the street and up the snow covered mountain I went. It was heavenly!!! :D

Welcome to the Speak Your Mind thread. It is the friendliest thread on CC. I love the change of seasons too but down here in Florida we have hot and hotter. When my wife comes back online she will probably offer you some cookies. Relax and be yourself. Glad to have you here.
