The Ultimate Condemnation of Believers Who Continue to Sin

Let's deal with these 2 items ...

John 14:15-24, NLT

[SUP]16 [/SUP]And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.
The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him.
But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.

Everything is keyed on verse 15, which is followed by the connector "and".
True saving faith demands not only faithfulness, but also obedience,
i.e. without it, all of God's promises are null and void.

where does it say 'without it all God's promises are null and void?' In fact it says that for the genuine Christian that is when chastening will begin PROVING he is a true child of God.

Ephesians was written ONLY to those saints in Ephesus who were FAITHFUL,
NOT to those who were being UNFAITHFUL, e.g. habitually sinning!

Faithful means sticking to the faith, not habitually without sin

Yes, my experiences on Christian forums lead me to give this warning to you sisters in the Lord:
Try not to be controlled by your emotions, and try to read the NT Scriptures with an open mind.
Your emotions greatly hinder your ability to accept truths which scare you.
This applies to understanding Scripture as well as accepting dire warnings about America's future.
The old head-in-the-sand technique is just not a wise path to follow.

You could start with Romans 6:16-23 where Paul gave the believers 2 choices:
1) choose to continue being slaves of sin
2) choose to be slaves of obedience, slaves of righteousness, slaves of God

1) results in (eternal) death
2) results in (eternal) life

It would be wise to not be sidetracked with what the believers were called to be, should be, etc.
Let us join Paul in looking at what they actually were ... what they were actually involved in.
Thus, they needed to change, choose wisely, repent, overcome, etc.

True Believers who continue in sin will suffer grievous chastisement (Heb 12) which may include death (1 Cor 11.30) so that they may NOT be condemned with the world (1 Cor 11.32.).

I honestly dont understand what people mean when they reply with "these verses are for the unbelievers".

Are they making the comment that these things are okay to practice for the believers?

I take the false teachers thing as those in Christ who follow false teachers to believe that its okay to do these things. I think the verses are clear.

I agree with you. What they're really doing is a thing in psychology called 'projection', an attempt to project guilt onto another person or thing in order to think themselves as blameless. In this case they say, "A believer on Jesus would never... be guilty of those things, so Peter must be talking about the non-believer."
