Hey Willie-T. I understand what you're saying about the BLM..movement. I can dig it..I feel yah on that. It just gets to a point to where decent, law abiding ,Christian or non- Christian African-American s like myself feel threatened just because of our race.There is a history of "injustice " that most of us carry and sometimes it gets hard to lay the burden down.Blacks aren't perfect. .we're just human too.Yes All Lives do matter..But that doesn't stir the pot as much as the "race" card does. Lord knows I don't want things to go back to the way it was before the civil rights movement. Those were some rough times for everyone. I was very aggressive back in the day but these days I've laid my sword down and picked up my Bible and the only way I know how to fight now is on my knees in prayer. I don't know if I'm wrong for saying this but if things don't change America just might be heading for a race war.
The system Is represented by a lady with a blind fold covering her eyes,but the stastics show the truth,I guess what I'm really saying Is,the system Is true but those who carry out the system are false and that makes the system false.
But whats really bad Is those carrying out the system not caring enough to acknowledge the stats but then again,the spirit Is willing but the flesh Is weak.

I have the same distaste and disgust for the way blacks were treated during slavery, all the way up to the 60's and 70's....
But those days are gone.
What we see now is the result of liberal "control" of the black (usually urban) population.... giving them free everything for long enough to get it ingrained that they are somehow "owed" it. Their policies have encouraged the breakup of families, which has left many young blacks basically on their own, with no male role models.
Because of this, the gang mentality prevails, and young black men are way more likely to be involved in that lifestyle, which leads to arrests and incarcerations at a higher rate than young white men.
What makes me sad, and angry, is the mentality of "we DEMAND that you treat us not as equals, but as MORE equal..." in other words, we don't want to become part of "white" society, we want to have our own society, separate and apart, and we insist that YOU pay for it..... because of all those years of discrimination.
So, we are going to have two Americas? Black America and White America? That is so opposite of what the founders wanted for our nation that it is insane.
Until the cries for racial division are stilled, we will never have peace.
But those days are gone.

Hey hornetguy.I get what you're saying.I can agree with you on a lot of the points that you've made.I'm not trying to argue about any of it.Okay?? I'm a peaceful person these days but when my feathers are ruffled I will speak my mind.I guess I was mostly shocked when I read how some people responded to this thread's subject.That's all.
I don't see any need in arguing, either... I think I can understand where you are coming from, as well, and I imagine it is difficult to forget being the victim of discrimination... especially for something you have no control over.
I know that I look at life from a small angle, just the people I come in contact with, at work and at church.. but I can honestly tell you that the people I know do not have any racial prejudice at all. We all want to just live and love and be friends, no matter what color someone's skin is.
I simply take offense at ANY group that tries to tell me that I OWE them something, because of stuff that happened years and years ago. I don't like Hispanics saying I owe them free stuff because we "stole" Texas from them, or blacks saying I owe them because of slavery. I despise slavery, but why do I owe a whole group of people something because something white people did over 150 years ago?
Our nation is a place where anyone can be nearly anything they want to be.... if they are willing to work for it, and sacrifice for it. I've had people criticize me because I make more money than they do...saying it isn't "fair".... when I ask them how much education they have, it's never more than a GED or HS diploma. I tell them they have to get at least an AS degree, 2 years, to be a technician like me.... they always have an excuse for why they can't do that. I went to school for 5 years to get my ASEE degree, taking one or two classes every semester, summer included. I did this while working about 60 hours a week, and having a family. No, it's not easy, but it can be done, if the desire is there.
So while I can see how you feel the way you do, you should be able to see why I get a little frustrated with those that want something for nothing.

I'm going to a BLM meeting on the 19th. I'm white, my wife is white, and my 6 year old stepdaughter is white. My wife called today just before I was about to take my lunch break to tell me I had to take Sophie with me to the BLM meeting. Apparently on the way to school she gave a lengthy rant about white power and how stupid brown people are because her daddy and Mr. Trump said so. Racism is still a real issue in America. I live in a smaller city where the local BLM is peaceful, nonviolent, and intelligent. They are organizing meetings with the police to build trustful relations with each other. Love your neighbor.
As a white South African, we are in a minority and being discriminated against. The people governing our country are trying to correct the wrongs of the past with the same wrongs against a minority group. We have Black Economic Empowerment in South Africa. I don't mind black people having their share of wealth but the ruling party is downright racist in their approach. If you are white you should not even apply for positions at the bigger companies because unless they really need you, you won't be employed.
Our country's infrastructure is busy collapsing as a result of non-maintenance and things are currently not good here. Is it as a result of apartheid? No, it is not. Apartheid was over in 1991. So after more than 20 years of black rule in South Africa do you know what gets the blame for non-performance. I will give you one guess because if you have more than one brain cell you can figure it out. Apartheid. So the system, that we all acknowledged did not work in 1991 are still being blamed for the incompetence of the new ruling party.
That is why it irritates me that people are demanding without getting of their laurels to do some work.

Most of the people who are being vulgar, rioting and acting a fool, don't even belong to BLM. They probably never been to a real sit down discussion with any official to try and come up with and agree on a peaceable solution.

When you look at the M4BL demands, the reparations demanded benefit Black lives more than the lives of other races. Lifetime free education for Blacks, instead of lifetime free education for all, is both radical and racist. It isn't a demand for equality but a demand for Blacks to gain free privileges based on the color of skin, but they detest White privilege. I too detest discrimination, but the proper solution can't be to elevate one particular race above all others. The proper solution is to lift up everyone equally, but for man this is impossible. Believing in Jesus Christ is the only way. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. I don't know where the M4BL intends to go with these demands, but the more I look at it the more I wonder about the things unsaid, especially behind the title of Independent Black Political Power. Lastly, when you read this list of demands do you begin to ask yourself who and where are their hostages?
BLM wants white people to be subservient. They want to be able to act lawlessly with complete impunity. Most black people vote Democrat because they are deceived into thinking that the Democratic party cares about their well-being when in reality they give them just enough handouts to keep him under their thumb while perpetuating a sense of entitlement
